Located in Uptown Greenville. Just step outside to dozens of restaurants, bars, shops, and ECU's West campus. The Lofts on 5th features 12 unique apartments ranging from 1 bedroom to 4 bedrooms. Located off of 5th street and Evans, the location is in the corner of Uptown District and in walking distance to ECU's campus. The apartments are located within a historic building originally built in the late 1920's as a three-story Montgomery Ward retail store. Over the years this building has housed a furniture store, Belk-Tyler department store, and a bookstore before being renovated into apartments and a restaurant space on the first floor in 1990. Nash Hot Chicken currently occupies the restaurant space. Adding to the fun story of this building, in a article about the building's history Roger Kammerer points out, "this unique building has the only polychrome terra cotta facade erected in Greenville and is only one of a handful of terra cotta clad buildings in eastern North Carolina." Residents access the building and the apartments by a secured code. All apartments come with appliances including a stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, washer, and dryer. There is a private parking lot adjacent to the building available for residents; there is a permit fee and permits are offered on a first come first served basis. All common areas have security cameras that record 24/7. Fire alarm pull stations, hard wired smoke detectors run throughout the building and inside each apartment.
The Lofts on 5th is an apartment community located in Pitt County and the 27858 ZIP Code. This area is served by the Pitt County attendance zone.

Uptown is where Greenville comes to play. The Uptown District is filled with art galleries, breweries, theaters, and events like First Friday Artwalks. It is also part of the Pitt County Brew & 'Cue Trail, which highlights places like Bum's Restaurant, Pitt Street Brewing Company, the Duck-Rabbit Craft Brewery, Sam Jones BBQ, and Uptown Brewing Company. For those who appreciate art and culture, Uptown is home to the Greenville Museum of Art, Emerge Gallery, the Music House, the Wright School of Music, and the Music Academy of Eastern Carolina.
At the north end of Uptown Greenville, the Town Common is a gathering spot for community events. Located along the Tar River, this picturesque park is home to the Greenville Toyota Amphitheater, the Town Common Inclusive Playground, a riverfront esplanade, a boat ramp, paved trails, and the Millennium Sundial. The Uptown District begins along the northwest side of East Carolina University and is a popular destination for students.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
