The Links Apartments

I’ve lived at the Links for just under a year and my overall experience was pretty great. The one bedroom apartment at 733 sq ft is perfect for a single occupant. There was enough storage area for my things and ample cabinet space in the kitchen; the hardwood floors were a plus! The Links are about 15-20 minutes to base and approx 10 minutes to historic downtown. I’ve really enjoyed being so close to everything yet still tucked away in a peaceful and quiet complex. The pool was one of my favorite places to be during the summer months. The area is well kept and the palm trees add a nice picturesque view so it doesn’t seem like you’re in Valdosta at all. The gym is decent for basic exercises and it’s well kept, but some machines are a bit outdated and a few of the features don’t work properly. Some complaints about the Links include the apartments not being sound proof and hardwood floors on the upper levels of the complex. I was on the first floor and the apartment above me had hardwood floors. I could hear stomping, at some points I think my neighbors were running upstairs and my place would shake. The floor plan is also the same above as below so I could hear all sorts of “activities” at night which was thoroughly annoying and led to irregular sleep at times. Overall, I had overactive neighbors who were noisy but the staff works well with military and the complex is very nice with no crime issues.

I used to love living at the Links and have lived there for two years, until the new, noisy, confrontational, Threatening neighbor moved in upstairs. Firstly, they have hardwood floors on the second floor which is terrible. This girl is loud with everything she does. I can hear every move this girl makes . I can hear her talking on phone. I can hear her music. I tried to talk to her about being more considerate. Remember, i lived under a woman for two years here and never has a problem. Now she is purposefully stomping on the floor, dropping things, playing music and tormenting me. She also lets her dog poop on the patio and she even swept it off and it fell down to my patio. She left trash outside for two weeks and other neighbors complained. Ive called the police as well because of noise after quiet hours. She has been in clear violation of the lease several times and nothing is being done by management to stop her behavior or handle this situation. I have everything clearly documented by video and pictures. I feel threatened, harassed and not a peace in my own place. They offered me an option to move into another apartment but I feel like I should not have to move since I've been here two years. This girl harasses me in the parking lot and tells me she "doesn't appreciate me", she said "she would make it worse for me" and told me "she was always disrespectful". I am a professor at the university here. Im a successful woman and this girl just graduated college and is too immature to live at this complex. I am giving it this rating because of the noise, the handling of the situation by management and management's lack of screening of residents.

What I love about the Links is how helpful the staff is when you need anything or nothing. They know who we are and always say hi and make sure we are well. It is the safe environment to have kids and animals. Also, we have a lot of miltary families and single miltary and when shipped out they are very good about watching out for your things. Everyone who lives there has been background checked! !! This is huge with kids, animals and single women. You always feel safe! It is always quiet and clean.
