There's much more to Champaign's sister city of Urbana than you might think. It is a lively college town, home to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, it has a long and fascinating history, and it is family-friendly and beautiful. While it is usually tied to its next-door twin, Urbana stands out on its own -- Downtown Urbana is the city hub, home to Market at the Square, a farmers market that began in 1979. The historic downtown features historic architecture, bike lanes (and plenty of bike racks), sidewalk cafes, period lighting, and a wide variety of shops and restaurants.
In addition to the university, Urbana is home to the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, a research institute located on the university's campus. The neighborhood attracts those with children, thanks to its top-ranking schools, and it features beautiful parks, such as Crystal Lake Park and Meadowbrook Park.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at The LINC
Brooklyn got me moved in 4 days after I was accepted by The Linc. Highly recommend
I’ve got nothing but good things to say about the team at the LINC. From the minute we arrived they were warm welcoming and helpful. We had a few teething issues but they sorted them out and for a family moving out their only son they left us feeling he was in safe hands and that was the most comforting thing. A special mention has to go to Ashley who was the first person we saw on the desk and her customer service was 5*. Thank you all for your help and putting up with us!!
I have lived at the LINC for a year and have always had exceptional customer service. Nick at the office was extremely kind and helpful with the moving out process, and made it easy and less stressful!
From the application, to the touring and move in process, everything went seamless! I was guided towards every step with patience and professionalism which is what i was expected from my past experience but did not have. Im really glad of the choice i made and hope that i will have a great stay there.
The touring quality of staff reflected the rooms that they offered. Nick, along with the rest of his team, accommodated us and gave a precise tour that answered all our questions. Their hospitality made us feel welcomed and comfortable.
The spaces are completely comfortable even if you have trouble sharing a space with others. You have your own room and bathroom which for me was a must. The kitchen includes dish washer and modern appliances which is another plus. Also, the leasing options! They’re great because you do not have to share rent instead it gets split for ways meaning you do not have to worry about others. And thats what I like about living here.
The property was very beautiful and modern, which was ideal and a contributor to what really sold me on wanting to live here next semester! My tour guide Brooklyn was very helpful/interactive/fun with me and my friends when we had gone for a tour of the apartment complex. Her enthusiasm and friendly demeanor was very different than what I’ve experienced with other apartment tours. From that I can tell that management won’t be crappy like other property managements I’ve seen. Looking forward to hopefully living here soon. :)
LINC is seriously the best property management in town. I’ve had many landlords in Urbana, and no one comes close to the LINC. The Staff is so kind and helpful. When I was looking for a place, they went the extra mile to ensure I had all the things I wanted in a place. Bonus points for all the great amenities that they provide too! The yoga studio and pool are top tier. I don’t have to worry about leaving my place and getting a membership anywhere when it’s all provided to me and just a short distance from my place! You’re in good hands with the girls at the LINC!
We came in and booked a tour same day, and the tour guide was really nice and helpful in answering our questions.
Living wise this has been the best living situation in all my years at Urbana-Champaign. The amenities are great and the overall staff is very nice, especially Ashley.
I was given an apartment and amenities tour by the leasing agent Brooklyn. She was incredibly engaging and was very helpful in answering all of my questions. If you’re looking to tour, I would definitely suggest requesting her!
I have decided not to renew my lease due to several disappointing experiences with management and roommate arrangements. From the start, management has been neglectful and unhelpful when it comes to addressing roommate issues. I participated in a roommate mediation at the beginning of the year, but no resolution was ever reached. Since then, I have been stuck living with a roommate who refuses to clean up the kitchen, creating a consistently unpleasant living environment. I informed management about how living in this situation was draining my mental health, yet they told me there was nothing they could do about it. This lack of concern for tenant well-being was incredibly disheartening. Living in such a negative environment has completely changed my outlook on this area. It has impacted me so deeply that I’ve decided to change my entire academic path and will be relocating to Texas, as I no longer wish to remain in Champaign. Additionally, after an earlier roommate switch, I was paired with someone who has no pet accommodations, despite clearly stating on my application that I would have a pet. I have been living here longer than my current roommate, yet my needs were overlooked. On top of these issues, management has offered incentives in exchange for positive reviews, despite being unhelpful and neglecting tenant concerns. This feels misleading and does not reflect the reality of living here. Overall, the lack of support and poor management have made my experience frustrating, and I would not recommend this property to others. Update February 12, 2025: After posting my honest review, the leasing office called me and threatened me, accusing me of slandering their office. During the call, they claimed that I was being aggressive, even though I was simply standing by my experiences and concerns. They also insisted that my experience of being offered an incentive in exchange for leaving a positive review was not true, despite me personally encountering it. The representative went as far as to say that they would place a leasing violation on me, seemingly as a way to intimidate me into removing my review. This unprofessional and hostile response only reinforced my negative experience with the management team.
Ashley was my point of contact, she definitely went above and beyond to ensure that I felt confident and answered all my questions. She is always willing to help and made moving in super easy by offering me a ride to my apt and letting me use a dolly for moving my packages! Ashley helped me make the right decision and thats why I decided to move here! Thank you.
I’m a local to Champaign. I came to tour the Linc recently. The remodel is amazing. I toured with Rhianna she was awesome and friendly. This will be a really good fit for me when my lease is up.
The dog park is great, my dog enjoys running around & the places to dispose of poop is convenient. The staff in the leasing office are very friendly and helpful.
The people in the leasing office are super helpful and nice! The apartments themselves are nice and spacious. Lots of amenities such as parking, Amazon hub lockers, and a gym are provided.
The Linc made move in super easy! They had stations at each quadrant to make the process go smoothly. I’ve never had less stress when moving!
I have been living here for 9 months. It would love to say that it is a Good place to live.
I’m so glad Jessica is the new manager. Things have been great. I also like the new renovations to my apartment and the pool just opened finally.
Shelby was my point of contact, she definitely went above and beyond to ensure that I felt confident and answered all my questions. Gave me full tour and showed me how accessible this property is! Definitely Shelby helped me to make the right decision and decided to move here! Thank you.
