The Lark

I’ve been at The Lark for about a month and I truly love my place. I love the area and it’s pretty convenient since I work five minutes away from here. I can’t wait to explore all the areas. I also appreciate Ruby. She’s really kind and compassionate.

Amazing staff and kind people in general, they make you feel comfortable and right at home! The Lark is safe and upscale with modern amenities. Moreover, Ruby, Misael, and Lourdes go above and beyond to make this place more than just an apartment complex and into a real community. That’s what makes the Lark so unique!! I love living here!

I’ve lived at The Lark for four years and only recently moved to relocate out of state. I’ve lived at several different apartment complexes prior, and the management and maintenance at The Lark is truly unmatched! Ruby (Manager) is so thoughtful, caring, reliable and puts so much heart and soul in the work that she does! Misael (Maintenance) and Lourdes (Porter) are friendly, dependable and prompt in their actions, I have no complaints whatsoever with this place. I remember I would put in a maintenance request, and the same day, within only a few hours or less, it would be addressed and fixed! The entire complex is very clean! The amenities are great! The clubhouse is beautiful, it was newly renovated within the past year. They have monthly events with free food, drinks and fun! The location is great, it is approx 5-8 mins away from Downtown San Mateo, and the major freeways are within minutes. There is a Nijiya Market across the street that I loved to shop at. But my most favorite thing is the free water stations (Flowater); this water is top-notch, you have to try it lol. There is a coffee machine, free for all. You get your money’s worth here, all in all, 10/10 would highly recommend!

I had the pleasure of staying at The Lark (formerly Park20) for an incredible 3 years, and my overall experience was nothing short of exceptional. This property truly sets the bar high with its outstanding amenities, top-notch facilities, and vibrant community engagement. One of the standout features of The Lark is the unparalleled sense of community. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure residents feel at home, and this is particularly true of Manager Ruby. Ruby is nothing short of a gem; she organizes monthly community engagement events that are both creative and fun, often featuring exciting prizes. Her genuine care and affection made me feel like a part of her family. She is always on her toes, ready to assist with any need, ensuring that everyone’s stay is as comfortable as possible. Although I never encountered any maintenance issues during my stay, it's reassuring to know that they are just a call away, ready to resolve any problem promptly and efficiently. I hated leaving this wonderful community due to need of a larger apartment, which unfortunately was not available at the time. For anyone in the Bay Area looking for a homely, upscale, luxury residential experience, The Lark is the place to be. I wish I could have stayed longer and highly recommend this property to anyone seeking an exceptional living experience.

While the amenities and events provided are lovely, the best part of this complex by far is the staff. Attentive, caring, and genuinely kind, Ruby goes above and beyond to attend to the needs of the residents. I have never, for example, had an apartment manager stop by with treats for my dog because she had missed her that day. Much affection is owed to Misael and Lourdes as well, who are beyond friendly and responsive to requests, as well as great conversation. We are sad to leave but very glad we got to meet everyone. Thank you so much for everything!

We’ve lived at the Lark for 4 years now (in 4 different units) and we have nothing but the best thing to say about living at this community. I am confident in saying that if it weren’t for the staff (namely Ruby, Misael, and Maria), we would have moved by now. Ruby has created a family setting within the Lark. Neighbors help each other, and more importantly become friends through the series of community events hosted by Ruby. She always goes all out for these events with in house DJ, amazing homemade foods. When we first did our research on the best community in the bay area we saw lots of new apartment complexes struggle with theft issues and packages get stolen a lot, but here at the Lark our community manager Ruby always makes sure all residents packages are delivered properly. Just the other day my Dyson was delivered after hours so Ruby made sure the first thing in the morning is to deliver my package to my door to ensure safety. This goes a long way in making the residents feel secure and comfortable in his home. Misael, is truly the engine behind everything. Misael runs what I believe to be the most helpful maintenance team at any complex in the Bay Area. Not only do they come to fix any minor issues within the apartments quickly and effectively, but Misael always brings a smile and solution when he is called to solve maintenance requests. He is always considerate and personable! When we had an ant issue in the summer he presented me with solutions that would curb the ant problem and let me know the toxic substance is not safe as I work from home so I could make arrangements to leave the apartment air out as he fixed the issue etc. Lastly, when my now pregnant wife was dealing with severe dust mite allergies, Ruby and Misael made sure to take the carpet out of the unit to alleviate the issue. Maria is always diligent in organizing the common areas, cleaning the trash rooms (especially after a long weekend of trash pile-up), and making sure everything is spotless. To conclude, Ruby, Misael, and Maria are the reason we have stayed so happy and for so long at the Lark community.

We have been residents of the Lark, previously Park20, going on four years now and still love it as much as when we first moved in! The facilities are excellently maintained by kind and friendly staff (thanks Misael, Lourdes, and Buster for all you do!) whom we genuinely consider as friends. The complex’s common areas (gym, community garden, pool + bbq / other outdoor spaces) have always been excellent and are now undergoing an entire revamp with new layouts/furniture and even additional amenities like a yoga room under the new management. Ruby has done a fantastic job creating and fostering a community that really feels like a home away from the childhood home you may have grown up in. The other tenants are also very kind, respectable, and generally quite, the only exception being at monthly community events where people sing their hearts out at karaoke; and we’ve made some very dear friends here. Highly recommend living at The Lark—if there are any vacancies ;)

I have been a proud resident of THE LARK apartments since 2014 and I highly recommend this complex. Even though I had to move to Los Angeles in 2016, I knew in my heart that I would come back to this amazing place. I didn't even think about looking at other apartments because this complex has been my home. What made it even more special was Ruby, the manager. Despite a change in ownership, Ruby and her team have been consistent and reliable. We all need a sense of belonging, and Ruby provided that for me, which is why I came back. Ruby is incredibly accommodating and always goes above and beyond to help tenants, and she's very welcoming to everyone. i also appreciate their sense of urgency, which makes me feel my needs are a priority. She takes the time to get to know all of the tenants and their fur babies. Ruby and her staff truly make this place feel like home. The staff is also excellent and always willing to help out. THIS IS HOME

Ruby is such a sweet dedicated landlord, any issues that I have she will get fixed in a jiff. The apartment complex itself is modern and luxurious. The Lark is also super pet friendly and I get to meet so many furry friends. I've had many nightmare landlords over the years and The Lark's staff really makes me feel at home. I'll continue to call this lovely place my home.

This apartment complex is the best complex I have ever lived in. This place is definitely a gem! I am so glad I found this place. Prior to this I was doing SO much research for apartments because I wanted to live in the best apartment in the area and trust me. THIS PLACE IS THE BEST TO LIVE. Ruby the apartment manager is so incredibly nice and awesome, she really makes this place feel like home. When I was looking for a place to live I was looking for that family part and this place definitely has that. There are events every month with giveaways all the time and games to get everybody engaged. The walls are extremely thick so you don’t hear your neighbor walking around in the middle or throughout the day (that was a problem in the past apartments I’ve lived). This place is hands down the best place to live. I don’t know how many times I can say it. The maintenance team is awesome, friendly, and responsive if you have a problem. The utilities are very new and I have had no issues with anything breaking down. This apartment is pet friendly with a nice walking area in the back to walk your dog. The community surrounding is extremely quiet and friendly. I will be back. Living here has been the best experience of my life. I met so many new people and I will be back for sure!

My boyfriend & I (& our pup) love living here! The building is well maintained along w the gym, pool area and club house! Our apartment was well-maintained when we moved in & has had basically no issues all year. One thing I love is the reliability and kindness of the staff here. The manager Ruby is in office every day for anything you need which I find to be super important bc it makes me feel better to know if there is an issue, she is just downstairs. On top of that, she is so so sweet. She gets to know all the residents and i’ll often go down just for a quick chat, and my pup loves it too bc she gets lots of cuddles & treats.The maintenance team is also really proactive with any requests. You see them around the building all the time doing different tasks, and they are so friendly. Overall its a great place to live, the managers put a lot of money and effort into events where we win prizes, eat, drink, karaoke, and get to know the residents, and its just really nice to have that social aspect! There are people of all ages living here and a very friendly atmosphere. Feel very lucky to have found this place, it really is just such a nice place to live. 10/10!

The Lark ,is simply best place to live Ruby & her crew Daniel, Misael, Maria they are amazing !! outstanding ,she is great mentor and her team is incredible, we been living here since 2015 and couldnt ask for better manager . Ruby is so loving and caring person, she goes above and beyond to help , she treats everyone same with respect and love, she is truly family to me , we love her so much! we feel very lucky she is in charge and she is very professional & she is lovely human being. we love you so much Ruby!!! , she is gifted, she has unique connection with animals and they can feel and see her beautiful heart! our dog Bella goes crazy for her , Bella everytime passes by office and looks for Ruby, she goes crazy when she sees her !!! thanks for everything ! we love you Ruby !!! looking forward to live many years here under Ruby's management. more life... more years together !

i have been a resident since the complex opened, and I really feel it is a top-notch place to live. The apartmet is nice and the management is great, especially Ruby R., the xommunity manger. She is tough but fair and does an cexcellent job. The maintenance team is also excellent. Ruby has helped me with numerous issues since I moved in, and she really is on top of things. The perks of living here are also very good. The complex is convenient to everywhere. There is a pool, clubhouse and weight room that are great to use and they have tenant parties that are a lot of fun! All in all a great place to live!
