Along with housing restaurants, bars, stores, and service-based businesses along San Mateo Northeast and Montgomery Boulevard Northeast, Del Norte is near several large shopping plazas, many of which are located along CanAm Highway. The neighborhood is located beside Arroyo del Oso Golf Course as well. With beautiful views of the Sandia mountain, this desert neighborhood features affordable to moderately priced rentals in a variety of styles including luxury apartments and Mediterranean-style houses.       Honestly, this is the best living experience. No complaints about my apartment. It's in a good area close to shopping, next to a school. The girls in the leasing office are amazing. *Chef's kiss.* They literally go out of their way to help. The Maintenance team responds quickly, the same day. I'm glad my friend referred me here, it's a hidden gem. :)

      Love The Lakes!

      I have lived here for about 9 months and I can't wait to renew when my lease is up this year. The grounds are so beautiful and well maintained. Everyone here is welcoming and I have the nicest neighbors! The office and maintenance staff are very responsive and I feel secure and comfortable living at these apartments. I highly recommend living at The Lakes!

      The ladies who work in the office are the rudest in the area. If you walk into that office, expect to be talked down to.

      Do not move in here

      Bad area of town and you can hear almost everything through the walls.

      Beware

      These apartments are very dated. Cabinets, appliances, outlets were in poor condition. Cockroaches were a problem. Management will try to bully you so if you feel you are right on an issue stand your ground. Utilities paid with rent are high (averaging $120 or more per month excluding electric) and there is no detail of what they are for. Don't expect any of your deposit back on move out and they will charge you a huge amount on your final bill to replace the carpet, $750 in our case.

      You may as well live in the war zone

      The apartment was actually very spacious and affordable. The neighborhood left something to be desired. If you live here, get ready to have your car broken into or stolen, ticketed or towed for no good reason, and vandalized. You also will find random homeless and drunk people laying outside the fence or on the sidewalk at all hours and possibly using the area as their personal toilet. As for the complex itself, the roof leaks if you're on the 3rd floor, which meant I lived without a smoke detector for about a year and a half. When you move out, make sure you take pictures of everything or else they will charge you a cleaning fee for things that are already clean. Take the actual apartment and move it to a better area with less shady company and you'd have the perfect place.

      Lying, unprofessional, rude office staff

      If I could give 0 stars, I would! I read the reviews before moving into these apartments and they sounded ok. I've only been here almost 9 months and I completely and utterly regret moving in. The office staff are liars and extremely unprofessional and rude! They will freely make comments about residents in front of other residents and anybody who happens to be around. They lie to the residents about terms and conditions and leave inconsistent notices on doors all the time. They favor residents and provide confidential information to them. There are cockroaches, ants, spiders and pigeons. They say they spray, but the bugs do not go away! DO NOT MOVE IN HERE! This place needs new management at the least!

The staff are also very nice but they need to use the security system more often lately I've been seeing used needles laying around in the back of the apartment parking lots. The pipes get clogged all the time and appliances also need to be replaced. The refrigerator is very loud and my stove clicks off and on. Unfortunately I'm stuck here for a year and most likely will not be renewing my lease.

      My life was a mess. I really want liking,but I went to these55 apts. and they were to small. One of the renters there was talking to mage and told new about how nice the lakes apts. we're. So I went and checked them out and two weeks later I was in my NEW apt. The people are so verynice,and very helpful. I love it here and I plan on staying forever. Beautiful and large apts. Awesome place.

      management ruins it here

      Other than management this is a great place to live but management tells lies to you and your next place of rental because they make the business personal. They have outlawed sidewalk chalk for the children!!!! Yes that old standby that kept little girls amused for hours and safe is not allowed here for no reason ever stated.
