The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at The Lake
Loved the scenery, hated the roaches. The bug and roach ssue is persistent despite multiple reports and management doesn’t seem to take it seriously. Definitely not worth the stress

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with pests. Your comments are important to us. We appreciate your input and hope to improve in the future.
It's been an okay experience here the last six months. Yesterday I had my keys and wallet stolen and had to have maintenance let me in. This wasn't an issue since they know who I am but the lake decides that if their residents need help getting in due to issues out of their control, they're going to charge you $100. Are you kidding me? Someone who spends thousands here a month and you provide five minutes of work and charge that absurd amount of money? I'll be sure to not renew my lease now as well as inform others looking at the property to stay far away. There are also thousands of spiders and mosquitos.
Property Manager at The Lake, Responded To This Review
Hi Denny, We're pleased to know that your overall experience has been a positive one over the last six months, conversely, we are disappointed to hear this and wish we could have earned a higher star rating. We are sincerely sorry that you were the victim of theft, however, we follow our contract and community policy when assessing charges and fees. If you feel that this was unjustified or if you'd like to review our policies in regards to situations like this, please contact us at (714) 524-6732 or thelake@kcmapts.com. Thank you.
They will auto-renew your lease and increase your rent amount by $400 without informing you. The Kitchen sink is just a joke since it will get chocked.
This apartment complex has pros and cons. Cons: Bugs: the humidity and vegetation caused by the lakes causes an increase in gnats everywhere, especially in the summer. And these bugs attract spiders-some of the most monstrous demon like hairy, spiders I have ever seen in California it is like they are exclusive to here. I posted one on a species identifier app and someone just said it was possibly of the nightmare genus. WATER: I had the water professionally tested when I noticed my hair falling out quicker after I moved in. As I suspected the water came back with a hardness of 11 and a ppm of 468. This is not healthy. You want water to be 0, the scale only goes to 10 . Hard water means an excess of minerals which can corode and make your hair fall it. The ppms are too high the water here tastes very bad. It's too high to even give to patio plants if you like gardening. Your skin will dry, your hair will fall out, your clothes will stain, and salts will build up on everything water normally is. If you have kids I would not recommend coming here if you care for their health. I also used to take care of my own pool so I know how much chemicals you need to put in a pool and I saw maintenance just dumping more than 1 gallon of concentrated chemicals. You may find yourself extremely itchy after using the pool as I did, so make sure to shower right away. https://www.fcwa.org/water/hardness.htm Management: Appliances crapped out on us twice due to power outages. I tried multiple times to get them to fix the dishwasher. Good luck to the next tenants I guess because they never came. They did fix the oven though the first time but all he did was flip the breakers. Power outages are frequent a certain time of year, make sure to turn your computers and such off when your not using them. If your on a top floor get used to using the AC. Parking: If you have more then one care you will have a suckish time parallel parking if you get out later. They will not miss a beat-they will ticket you ASAP on street cleaning day. Pros: Close to campus Gym Pool Lake keeps it slightly cooler laundry I like the floorplans of these apartments nice desk staff
I am currently renting from The Lakes apartment. The complex has just recently switched management and so far there are a lot of positive changes. I will start with the drawbacks. There a bugs. A ton of bugs. I have to kill a cockroach or two in my apartment every single week, even though they spray the facilities. Second, the parking is horrible. I'm glad to have a covered parking spot in a garage, but FORGET ever having a guest park any closer than half a mile unless luck is on your side. I do have to say, though, it is the nicest complex in the area. The ponds, trees, koi fish are all beautiful and peaceful and everyone takes pride in keeping the complex clean and beautiful. As I mentioned, the new management has been doing new things. Most recently, they have been painting and renovating and have really knocked the scenery up a knotch. All in all, I love the complex but can do without the bugs.
Nothing particular to praise or condemn. Annoyances of trash and laundry and poor maintenance, but that's been my experience with any apartment.
