Tree-lined streets connect neighborhoods to outdoor spaces like Baylands Park and Las Palmas Park. Downtown Sunnyvale continues to grow, featuring local dining options alongside an AMC Theatres complex and Whole Foods Market. Housing includes distinctive mid-century Eichler homes and apartment communities throughout the city. Current rental trends show one-bedroom apartments averaging $2,855 per month and two-bedrooms at $3,635, reflecting year-over-year increases of 3.3% and 4.5% respectively.
The city maintains strong connections to both its past and future. The Heritage District and Heritage Park Museum preserve Sunnyvale's agricultural history, while major tech companies maintain significant operations throughout the city. Two Caltrain stations and VTA light rail provide public transportation options for residents.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Manager at The Highlander, Responded To This Review
Our team works hard to create five-star homes for all our residents, so it’s disappointing to see your negative perception of our community. Keeping our property clean is a community effort, and while our team does all they can to maintain our grounds, we also rely on residents to pick up after themselves. We are unaware of any pest issues in your apartment. Therefore, please reach out to our team so we can work with you to find a lasting solution to the problem. We truly want each of our residents to enjoy their homes to the fullest and would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you further about your concerns.
Extremely dirty apartment. Worst management. No one cleans here . People throw trash everywhere. Never ever come here . Stay away .
These apartments are very dirty. There is trash and foul smell everywhere in the building. Dumpster is not cleaned everyday and it piles up garbage for a few days and creates smell. In the hallways also there is trash which is not cleaned for weeks and lifts are always dirty.
I am a clean freak and still had bugs and roaches. I don’t know where they are coming from! Glad to only sign a 6 month lease.
This is a very bad property , Rude management , bad maintenance . Please don't rent this at any cost.
- bed bugs! - roaches - laundry room not working - rude management If you’re looking for an apartment don’t waist your time on this building management is so rude! And not even helpful rent is expensive for the small space that you get....
Below are few points:- 1) If you want insult or disrespectful just go to leasing office and talk to any of them(2 ladies always rude and disrespectful) 2) bed bug huge problem 3) cockroaches are literally unpaying guest for u. 4) literally super unhygienic Overall if there would be any system to put minus rating i would love to.
Roaches everywhere! Rude management, no Maintenance, High rents , Beware!! huge cleaning bills while you leave.
This apartment is in a perfect location and close to everything around. The neighborhood is quite and clean. The management staff are always very friendly and helpful, I would highly recommend this place.
It is no mystery why they don't even have a 2 start rating. Poor maintenance. Noise problem all day (can hear creaking and voices all day). When I moved in they had a HUGE cockroach problem. But boric acid powder can address that, no thanks to the management. Bad management at the leasing office. They are rude and would blame you for their mistakes. A bigger issue is the damage deposit. At least my experience they rip innocent tenants off on the damage deposit and use it as an excuse to do desperately needed normal maintenance on the apartment. Read the other reviews and you will understand what I mean. I suggest you only rent from them as a last resort, and then think twice even then.
I would give zero stars if there was an option. 1) Manager is very rude, arrogant and a cheater 2) Apartment is full of roaches 3) Elevator doesn't work properly 4) Very old building 5) The walls and roof are not sound proof If you move out, they will charge you for everything mentioned in the agreement (at least $1000). I paid a security deposit of $1200. When I moved out of the apartment to a different state, the manager inspected the house informed deducting around $200. They did not send any payment for 3 months. When he sent the statement, he billed me for everything mentioned in the agreement for more than $1000 along with incorrect rent calculations. When I pointed out the mistakes, he agreed to look into the matter and call me back. I have called them at least 50 times till date without any return calls. After 15 months, I am still calling them and I am not able to speak to the manager. If someone is looking to challenge them in court or take them to small claims courts, please let me know.
First of all great location, maintenance is accurate
