The staff that work here are amazingly friendly and helpful. The neighbors are friendly. The community is kept cleaned. Honestly it's like a vacation here. There are grill stations, a dog park, a club house and a pool table, a pet wash station, fitness centers. I've never felt more safe in my entire life. Also everything thing is for the most part a 5 to 15 minute drive from here.
I am in the process of moving in. Megan, the Assistant Community Manager, has been very helpful. My only stress has come from the mixup about the address of the property. I was told it was Martinez but some utilities only recognize it as Evans, GA.
The staff at The Heron have went above and beyond during the entire move in process. Emelyn has been perfection to work with. The level of customer service and the attention to detail shows in every aspect of becoming a resident.

The apartment units are well-designed, updated, and very comfortable. The location is excellent, with easy access to shopping, dining, and major routes. The pool area is also well-maintained and adds a great touch to the community.

Quiet community, located close to shopping and restaurants. Beautiful walking trails, pool dog park and dog spa and gym. They also have lots of community events you can participate in if you’re interested.

I have really enjoyed living in this community. In the past, I've been unfortunate to live with very loud neighbors and traffic. In this community the neighbors are beyond friendly and quite. Sometimes I notice sound traveling through the walls, but everyone is respectful of typical quiet hours. Not having the constant sound of traffic all the time has been amazing. When going outside throughout the majority of the day/night you consistently are hearing birds or other relaxing animal sounds. The apartments are very spacious - I live in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath plus a garage and it has been perfect for me and my partner. Allows for us to have the storage space and have guests over with the option to spend the evening if they would like. I highly recommend this apartment complex to those moving to the Augusta area!

We’ve love living at The Heron at River Island. The office staff has always handled any issue quickly, and the pool is the best. The neighbors do a good job cleaning up after their pets, and it is a quiet neighborhood.

I feel that the rent is high considering the lack of cleanliness on the property. There is often trash scattered in the grass, piles of garbage left outside of the dumpster, and dog waste throughout the grounds. These conditions create odors and attract pests, which negatively impact the living experience—especially for tenants placed near these areas. Rent should reflect the additional burden residents face in dealing with these issues.

Please know that we are actively addressing these issues. Our team continues to monitor and clean the grounds daily, and we are working closely with vendors to improve trash removal and ensure dumpsters are serviced on schedule. In addition, we are reinforcing pet waste policies with residents to help keep the property cleaner and more enjoyable for all.
The management staff is professional, always responsive, and addresses any maintenance issues quickly. The building amenities are well-maintained. The location is fantastic. The apartment itself is modern, spacious, and gets plenty of natural light. Highly recommend this place!.

When I moved in, I was told there was a promotion regarding a free month of rent. I was told this would apply to my first full month in the apartment. This was not applied to my account and I reached out to the staff here multiple times with no response.

It has been great at the heron at river island. The apartment community is quiet and offers a lot of activities for families. There is a beautiful pool and a gym! There are trails to walk on and a small dog park and area to wash your dog as well. It’s in a great location and there isn’t a lot of traffic so getting around is easy.

Clubhouse should be open until at least 10:00p.m. Clubhouse fire place and outdoor fire places needs to be working. Ice maker in Clubhouse should work. Refrigerator in Clubhouse should not be lock so that residents can place items in refrigerator to keep them cool while in the Clubhouse or pool.

Moved in almost 2 weeks ago and the property is living up to is likeliness. It’s been great so far. Events are almost held weekly. The amenities are always clean and ready to use, and the staff are friendly and helpful.

The trash service is horrible and dumpster situation is disgusting. They make all these rules about the clubhouse, but nothing works. Nice fireplace- doesn’t work. Nice TV- doesn’t work. Rude emails barking all these rules on the day they see something so everyone knows who or what it’s about. Constantly threatening to fine or remove people over the dumbest stuff. They ran the sprinklers during a freeze and the sidewalk turned to an ice rink. An older lady fell and BROKE HER HIP!! All that being said, this place is not worth the price tag. Do better.

"Still Loving It in Year Two!" As my second year living here, I can genuinely say this place has continued to exceed my expectations. It’s more than just an apartment — it feels like home. The staff has been incredible from day one — professional, friendly, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure residents are happy and comfortable. One of my absolute favorite features is the beautiful resort-style saltwater pool, which has been a game-changer, especially for families. It’s the perfect spot to relax on a sunny day, and the shallow areas make it super kid-friendly. My child absolutely loves spending time there — it feels like a mini vacation just steps from our door! The community is well-maintained, peaceful, and safe. Maintenance requests are handled quickly, and I’ve always felt supported. On top of that, the location is convenient, the neighbors are kind, and there’s a real sense of belonging here.

The property is beautiful. It has a nice gym, beautiful pool, grills for cooking out and you can go walking in the River Island neighborhood. They also have lots of activities for everyone.

The Apartment complex is quiet and the area is nice. The community feels safe and the grounds are always clean. What I liked most is efficient maintenance, promptly responding to maintenance requests and performing regular preventative.

Absolutely love it here! Nature Trails, resident events, staff, and neighbors make this place the prime place to be. The apartments are huge and I love my double garage.

We've been here for two years and it's been great! We have great neighbors in this complex, very friendly. The gym, pool, club house, dog washing station, dog park, and various lounging areas make this complex feel like we're living in a luxury resort.
