Brentwood is a picturesque neighborhood in Northwest Raleigh, bordered on the south by I-440 and to the east by Capital Boulevard. This residential area is filled with established homes, mature trees, and several lakes. At the heart of the neighborhood, the Brentwood Park provides a gathering place for residents. This 19-acre park includes a picnic shelter, two playgrounds, athletic fields, and two basketball courts. The Neighborhood Center has a warming kitchen and meeting space and is often used for community events and classes.
The Adventure Landing Raleigh is located in Brentwood, just off Capital Boulevard. This theme park features an aquatic complex, laser tag, go-karts, batting cages, an arcade, and three 18-hole miniature golf courses. With a short, five-mile commute into Downtown Raleigh, Brentwood is ideal for commuters. The neighborhood is also minutes from Duke Raleigh Hospital, NC State, Mordecai Historic Park, and Crabtree Valley Mall.

Property Ratings at The Harrison Apartments
I currently live at The Harrison in a one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment. The unit itself is a fair size for the price, but unfortunately, the cons far outweigh the pros. TL;DR: Save yourself the trouble and choose another place to live. I moved in February 2025 under the previous management and had no major maintenance issues. Since I rarely needed assistance, I cannot speak to their sense of urgency. However, new management took over in June 2025, and that is when the problems began. On August 7, 2025, I reported that my HVAC had stopped working. I was told I would receive fans that same day, but they did not arrive until August 8. This made it nearly impossible to sleep in the heat. As of today, my AC is still not fixed. Raleigh temperatures in August reached the high 80s, and living in these conditions without functioning AC has been extremely uncomfortable. On August 16, 2025, I discovered that one of the fans provided had been removed from my unit without any prior notice of entry. I sent management an email and a message through the resident portal addressing both issues regarding the HVAC and unexplained entry. In that email/message, I specifically asked for clarification on the entry and set a deadline of August 25, 2025, for the HVAC to be repaired. To this day, I have received no response. Not receiving confirmation about who entered left me concerned about both safety and communication. Other ongoing issues include an electrical problem with the kitchen cooktop. Using both burners at the same time causes the switch to flip, which makes cooking frustrating and inconvenient. In addition, there are two fire system units on the property that go off randomly. The alarms are loud enough to be heard inside my unit. I have lost sleep more than once because of this. Between the lack of communication, failure to complete essential maintenance, uncertainty about unit access, and disruptive living conditions, I cannot recommend The Harrison. Based on my experience, I would not consider this a safe or comfortable place to live, particularly for families or pet owners.
The amenities are excellent and the staff is super helpful. They have a ton of different options and it's a great location overall. I really like that the community is a good blend of a quiet place to be but also everyone is friends. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the Raleigh area!!!
