I’m not just talking about out the midtown area, I’m talking about the 8 floor neighborhood that The Gilmore offers. Residents all know each other and the staff makes sure it is a 5-star experience. It isn’t easy running a 100 year old building, but the staff makes it look easy! 10/10 recommended!
I am beyond grateful to call this Historic landmark the Gilmore my home. This Complex has stood the test of time for a Century!! Wow! Staff goes above and beyond in response and care. Tenants are friendly, respectful and welcoming. Our Fur Babies are our family too! Our Location is a vibrant neighborhood with a stone’s throw away for food, shops, or entertainment. PERFECT Balance of convenience and charm. I found my place here with “Community, Character and Charm”. I couldn’t be happier living here and I’m so thankful to call it home.
The Gilmore is definitely a quiet and safe building to live at. Office maintains the building with top priority!! The location is highly desirable also!! You’re in the middle of EVERYTHING! Walking distance to the best restaurants and to also mention a nice little deli downstairs!

The building is beautifully maintained, with charming architectural details that make it stand out from the typical apartment complex. The location is unbeatable — walkable to some of the best dining, shopping, and entertainment options in Downtown Memphis. I’ve loved being able to explore the city without needing to drive everywhere. The management team has also been a huge plus. They’re friendly, responsive, and truly care about the resident experience. Maintenance requests are handled quickly, and there’s a real sense of community here. Whether it’s the secure entry, clean common areas, or fun resident events, The Gilmore really goes the extra mile. If you’re looking for a place that combines convenience, style, and exceptional service, I highly recommend The Gilmore Apartments. It’s more than just a place to live — it’s a place to feel at home.
I’ve lived at The Gilmore for 4 year and wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. I could list all the great features and the vintage charm that makes this place special, but what I truly love is the sense of community. We see each other in the lobby, ride in the elevator together, and get to know each other. The tenants care about each other and about this historic building. That’s a unique thing that you just don’t find when looking for an apartment-but we have it here.
I have lived at the Gilmore for nearly 30 years. This is truly Midtown living at its finest. It includes a gated parking lot, top notch security, a fitness room, a secure area for package deliveries, easy access to friendly staff that feel like family, and a true apartment community where neighbors know and care about each other. It is centered in the historic heart of Midtown, with easy walking access to restaurants, theaters, playhouses, parks, music venues, and other life enhancing cultural amenities. Truly a warm, welcoming, and safe harbor to drop your anchor in Memphis.
I love my apartment. It’s small but spacious. I love the big windows and the view I have. It’s walking distance to Overton Square which is great. Management is friendly. Only giving four stars because my car got towed within two weeks of living here and I had to pay for it despite being a resident and no one telling me where to put my parking decal.
I love the gilmore- staff is fantastic and helpful when things go wrong, and my neighbors are great. Recently renewed my lease for a third year with no hesitation!
I've loved living here. It is a great place for someone to start off in life when getting their 1st place as well. The historic charm of the building makes it unique. It is great for people who like to be out as well because it is walking distance from Midtown, Overton Square. The zoo and the park isn't far either. The rooftop deck at the apartment is a hidden gem with beautiful city views. It is pet friendly, has great neighbors, awesome in office workers and maintenance workers on site. Whether you're a young professional or student, this is a perfect blend of style, comfort, and convenience. Highly recommend!
