Property Ratings at The Covington Apartment Homes
Very much a bait and switch complex. They lure you in with amenities, community events, security, and cleanliness. These are just a facade. The printer in the business center never worked. I had to have the front office print documents every time. The community grills and fire pit were in constant disrepair. I gave up entering maintenance requests because the tickets would be closed and nothing would be fixed. For months, the key fob system was broken. The intercom system was broken for even longer. The "security" hired during the fob system malfunction was laughable. Also, good luck if your vehicle is hit because the cameras don't work. The rent payment system was almost always down when rent was due. Many of the community events are either donation drives or they are put on by companies aiming to sell you something (ex: Verizon). At the heart of many of the issues is the front office staff and the lack of professionalism and communication. The central pool area was shut down without any notice. "Events" would only be posted in the elevators with no email or text notification. Fire alarm testing that was supposed to occur in the morning would end up happening in the afternoon (good luck getting your pet out of the apartment while alarms are blaring). After giving your 60-day notice to vacate and paying the fee, they will try to make you pay past the 60 days until a new tenant is found. They don't enforce the no smoking policy. There was a constant smell of weed in the elevators and halls. Cigarette smoking was done outside of the designated areas near the entrances. I could go on and on.

I moved here in August and from the first time I set foot into the office I could feel a big sense of community here. The rental fees are fair compared to what is currently available to people in the twin cities area. The location is excellent and there are a few lakes and nature reserve places near by. My one bedroom apartment’s layout is awesome. I have no complaints regarding noises. The outdoor pool is one my favorite spots here at the Covington. The gym is excellent. I had a personal experience with the office staff and they were unbelievably supportive. So far I have been to two social events and it was very fun. I would definitely recommend the Covington for the place to call home.

My boyfriend and I love The Covington! We lived here in 2016 and left because we moved across the country. We came back to Minnesota and the staff at The Covington welcomed us with open arms! We've been here since February and it's truly the best apartment complex I've ever lived in. Somehow the noise within the apartments is minimal except from above, there are a lot of amenities, and the staff is absolutely wonderful! Every single person that works here goes above and beyond to get to know you personally and make sure you are comfortable and happy. You always get fun conversation and you never have to ask them twice for anything! I love going down to visit with them... plus they have amazing cookies that are just the cherry on top of good company. ;) The complex also offers free massages (AMAZING), free yoga classes, and has a pool and 24 hour gym. Honestly from the staff, to the building maintenance/cleanliness, to the location of the complex, this place makes you wonder why people even want to own their own homes. Check them out! You will NOT regret it.

We moved in about 3 weeks ago and so far we LOVE it here. Every single member of the management team is amazing. They have done so much to make our move easy and take care of us. They literally make you feel like you are the most important thing they have to do regardless of how big or small your ask. Our unit was perfectly clean when we moved in. So far it is better all around than a newer building we were at Minnetonka.

I’ve rented here since January and I really like it. They have a cleaner for common areas so it’s clean never dusty or worse. The layout is spacious and comfortable. Washer dryer in unit makes life easier. There is a lot of storage space both closets and space on your floor. Maintenance is quick to respond on everything from lightbulbs and microwaves failing to hair clogs and garbage disposal. I want to be clear that I’ve had little issues and they take pride in the building. The dogs living here are always happy and eager to say hello when passing in hall or entryway. I haven’t really used the party room but it is really nice and can accommodate caters too. The movie theatre is pretty nice but I think for the size it could use a larger tv or a screen and projector. The gym is a actual gym not just a few free weights and a bike. They have a massage each month currently but I stopped using mine (masseuse is a talker) I like to just lay down get massage and listen to music. In her defense I never did ask her to not talk but still seemed intrusive to the experience. The pool is a good size and well maintained, alongside are two areas with chairs and tables ,and a tv bbq area. They have movie night and get together nights which are nice to meet neighbors. Some weekends can be loud if you face the pool , close windows and it’s tolerable. The heat and water as well as air conditioning works perfectly.. I’d recommend it to others. I have a noisy neighbor but the staff is trying to address that .

I've lived at this apartment community since it opened in 2014. I was, and still am, very impressed with the staff and how they handle every situation. I moved out a while ago and recently moved back because I couldn't find a community that compared for the price. The apartments are great and I have no complaints.
Me and my wife rented apartments for 2 years. We do not regret that we lived there. Managers were organized and up to the date on everything. Every questions were answered promptly and accurately. Place have near by convenient stores few miles away. Quiet place over all. Parking was not a problem, had a lot of parking around it. Near by park. I would recommend people to live there, if you have money. And if you don't have money don't look for the negative side of the apartments. Over all if you behave yourself then you will like it. I lived at the Covington with my 2 kids, husband, and cat. We were there for a full year, and have no regrets. Yes there are cheaper apartments out there, but this is a luxury apartment with TONS of amenities in a great location, so in my opinion, the rent at the Covington was fairly priced. We toured other apartments, and the Covington was much nicer than others in the same price range. My family really enjoyed the heated pool, open floor plan with huge windows, the nearby walking/biking paths, the heated underground garage, full sized washer/dryer and up to date appliances, walking to Normandale Lake for the farmers' market and summer concerts, fun resident events, and the theater. We also made use of the 2 bedroom guest suite, which was very reasonable and convenient to rent for a night or two when family was in town. The Covington staff bent over backwards for us. They are so friendly and helpful, and always had a fresh baked cookie for my daughter when she came home from school. Maintenance requests were taken care of right away, every time. I just can't say enough good things about our experience at the Covington. If any of our friends were searching for an apartment in the Bloomington area, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Covington. It was a great place to call home.
I love the fact that it is a very open floor plan. This apartment has its own washer and dryer in the unit.
the management team at this property is outstanding. I've been here 7 months now and they have been nothing but helpful and welcoming. This building is also very well kept! I highly recommend it
This is a really great place to live... but as with many places be aware of the one situation I came into. They promised not to rent the "model" apartment next to me which the living room shared the same wall as the bedroom as our apartment. I didn't like that but they would not allow me to rent this unit and said it would not be rented at all. They of course reversed their decision and that left us with noise from tv and guests on the other side wall of our bedroom. That's very Poor. This place is not the best with noise at all, due to construction grade obviously lacking from what it could be. That being said it is really a great community and great staff. It's not the staffs fault and I wish construction sound insulation was better for the price, they could afford it! Still a good place to live but it just depends on your layout and neighbors.
This place is great. The apartments are awesome, the courtyard is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. And the staff is always friendly and polite. The price is a little on the high side, but it is worth it.
We looked around the Covington 2 weeks ago and were thoroughly impressed. The staff was knowledgeable and the apartments are VERY nice. Reading the first review was a bit alarming and dishonest. I've never seen this kind of product at Ikea. We also went to 3 other places that were in the same comparable rent prices and this place was much nicer and BRAND NEW so I can't understand why they would say "overpriced". I'm guessing if you want to pay for Motel 6 quality, you need to look elsewhere. We signed our lease last week and couldn't be more excited to move in soon! (I can't really rate the "maintenance service" or "noise" as we haven't moved in yet, but will be sure to update later on. Thank you!
My wife and I toured this community and we were not impressed. The staff they have working there are completely disorganized and had trouble finding any answers we were looking for. The units were made cheap; the cabinets and flooring look like something you'd buy from Ikea. I wouldn't waste your time or money at this place. There are many other options to choose from in the area.
