Tucked in the northwest corner of Cook County, suburbs such as Hoffman Estates, Palatine, South Barrington and Schaumburg vary widely in personality and composition. Schaumburg, the largest in population, is home to Ikea and Woodfield Mall, the largest mall in the Chicago area. Palatine, developed on a wooded marshland, comes in at a close second in size. Hoffman Estates, while smaller, is the most densely populated of the four suburbs and is home to AT&T's Midwest headquarters and Sears Holding Corporation. South Barrington, tiny in comparison, and arguably the most affluent in the area, is home to the famous mega church, Willow Creek Community Church.
Heavy traffic can double or triple commute times, so area locals know to check the highway reports before leaving home. Normal drive time into the city from this area is about 30 minutes via the Interstate 90 tollway. An easy 20 minute drive will take residents to O'Hare International Airport.

I live here and it’s AWFUL. Looks nice outside to get your money, then you move in and find out how terrible it is. Maintenance is a total joke. Something has to break 5 times before they’ll replace it. The pool didn’t open till 6/6, then closed again 6/12-6/14 because some kid dove and hit their head and bled in the pool. So many of us have told them to get a pool attendant to enforce the rules, and they are too cheap. They’d rather just close the pool for three days and make everyone else suffer for their shortcomings. Today, the pool was supposed to be open, no one came to unlock it, tons of residents waiting outside in 90 degree weather. Someone picked a lock and opened the gate for everyone. The pool itself and pool area was full of garbage from their little “party” they had yesterday. And the women’s bathroom is absolutely DISGUSTING. Dirt and grime caked on the floor, one of two stalls missing a door… Everywhere is expensive right now, but spend your money somewhere else!! THIS PLACE IS A TOTAL JOKE!!

My girlfriend, roommate and I moved in right before Christmas and it’s been a delight so far. We had a few noise complaints with our upstairs neighbors, but they’ve since gotten a lot better. We’re slowly but surely making our little home cozy.

I really enjoy living here. No major issues or complaints. I only wish pet owners would pick up after their animals more since there are animal waste bins around the community. Otherwise I have been living here for about 4 months now and I like it a lot.

The only my concern is we don't have enough parking lot, all the time when I return from work is hard for me to found a parking and have to park far away from my apartment.

First of all I think the staff at the Hub is nice and I like the way they have treated me. I like my apartment except for a few miner thing that I had problems with. Just a problem meeting neighbors of my own age. Otherwise I am content and somewhat satisfied.

We move here since 2010. I never had any problems with anyone. The neighborhood is very nice and quiet. The new managment takes care of things more and care more about the residents needs.

All is good so far. Safety and security is provided especially during night time. Parking lot is first come first serve basis but every residence has always lots for everyone. The complex is very accessible to stores and fresh market.

This place takes time to get things in working order, but once they get things done it is a nice experience. Patience is a virtue. People are kind and I think people need to remember that these buildings are old. Wear and tear is a normal part of life. If you are not able to accept wear and tear than pay what it costs to live in a brand new apartment complex.

Great place to live, relax , great size, and one of the not really common options around, 3bed 2 baths! Neighbors are great, bus schools stops really close and option for private parking spots with roof to cover your across year seasons

Been living here 3yrs now and I’m still loving it. Don’t get me twisted, every apartment complex has its own problems but The Clayson does a great job being on top of their game. Maintenance is horrible you can’t get them to Come at all but the apartments and land are beautiful and the office staff is nice enough. The new parking policy is weird though

Awful, to say the least. I have been here 4 years and it has all gone downhill since the change in property management. Maintenance ALWAYS changes management, and they never come up with real solutions. Then have the audacity to ask for a survey… I’ve been told calling and leaving VMs isn’t effective and to fill out the maintenance request form, but this does nothing. They come & fix things in order to not get sued, but after that the rest of the work goes unfinished as it’s “no longer their problem”. My unit was leaking from the unit above me and my floors became soaked so they ripped up the carpet to dry the boards and ripped out a section of the cushion to repair. re-nailed the ceiling & patch painted it to temporarily solve the issue, mind you my entire ceiling collapsed not even 10 months ago. However, my Carpet is still ripped up & I am missing those floor boards (going on 2 months). I’ll probably get a call after leaving this review though, since it takes action to get results.

I’ve lived here for going on 2.5 years. We love the pool, which is maintained well. Maintenance is fairly quick on regular issues and fast for any emergency issues. I’ve always had polite and nice interactions with the staff here

Great place to live and sense of community this is a great place for those just starting out without the best credit, they will work with you and treat you like more than just your credit score. The schools are excellent in this area lots of diversity, plenty of new and long term residents, great for families. If you're looking for stability look no further!

The leasing office is impossible to get a hold of. Hours aren’t compatible for those that work the Monday-Friday 8-5. I spent two weeks the first month of my lease trying to get a hold of someone to discuss charges that were misplaced onto my account. I ended up having to call and email their corporate office to get a response.

I have only been here a month but I am not impressed. The apartment itself needs a lot of work but mostly I’m not happy that my front door of the building doesn’t lock. Cheap rent for a reason.

I’ve been here for a year so far and it’s a pretty nice community. I love that we have a fitness room, a pool, and fire pit area to hang out.

Beautiful neighborhood. Great community. Our apartment wasn’t quite ready to be moved into. My dogs love it. Everyone is very friendly. Just wish there was more transparency about issues

Residence experience has been good high rent though but nice neighbors and maintence staff but sometimes the office take long to answer but they get the job done when they do

I have enjoyed my time at the clayson. I have lived here over a year and would recommend this property to anyone. The grounds are well kept and the amenities are in line with the cost of rent.

Good community, move in was good. Had a few bumps before move in but it all good straightened out before hand. Wish there were more sidewalks in the neighborhood to walk on so I don't have to walk my dog in the street.

We being here for about 12 years...I never had a problem with any neighbor. There has being a lot of changes in this aparments since the new owners. Im glad they try to keep us happy by fixing everything we need. I also recommend some of my friends.

It’s been a wild ride to say the least. We started off rough with trying to get maintenance to come help with things around the apartment. It’s been fine but things are worn down.

It’s okay not great. Wish they would put speed bumps, too many cars driving fast especially at night. Cameras they installed are suppose to make us feel safe but when something happens they always say, they were under maintenance.
