Uptown Portland is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Portland. The lively community spirit serves as a consistent draw for the neighborhood in addition to its unique historic charm and central locale. A broad mix of eclectic local businesses provides residents with tasty eats and entertainment options while quiet residential streets create a pleasant, small-town vibe.
Located just northwest of Downtown Portland and the popular Pearl District, Uptown Portland is a top choice for those seeking a short commute. Most spots in the neighborhood's residential areas are less than three miles from downtown, making a quick trip by bike or public transportation feasible.
Along with being close to downtown, the neighborhood has plenty of its own charms. Uptown Portland is often nicknamed Nob Hill, a nod to the upscale neighborhood in San Francisco.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at The Celine
I lived in the Celine for a year in a studio. I loved my apartment, great location, well built building, and very sound proof. That being said the management was nonexistent. I didn’t have AC for 6 months despite numerous work orders and calling management daily. There is no way to contact the management and they did not have a maintenance staff hired. I also had a broken toilet and washing machine both of which sat unfixed for weeks until I fixed them myself. I left after my lease was up. I would not recommend wonder dog management or this building.
I am new to the Celine but I have had an excellent move-in experience to this small apartment community. Violet made the process seamless start to finish. The walk-thru was very thorough and once some small fixes are completed I really look forward to living in this community. Per previous comments there is not an onsite Manager although there seems to be a maintenance staff person who is always around during the day. Violet has responded nearly immediately to every text I have sent and has offered great friendly advice. Thanks for making this move the best:-)
I’ve had ongoing issues since moving into this apartment complex. The fixes are never proactive, and communication from management is poor. I’m often left waiting for updates with little follow-up. List of Issues: HVAC Vendor Access: I had to act as the point of contact for the HVAC vendor since they couldn’t reach management. On multiple occasions, I had to let them in to fix issues for other tenants. This happened over a 2-week period and shouldn’t have been my responsibility. Resolved Issues: Split unit noise/no heating/cooling Garbage disposal issues Flickering lights/missing light fixtures Leaking bathroom sink (resolved 3/4/25) Weather stripping for doors (resolved 3/4/25) Fob to building (resolved 3/4/25) Unresolved Issues: Internet not working (high priority, unresolved) Key to street door not provided Timeline of Events: 1/17/25 (Move-In): Several issues present, including scratches on the floor, missing light fixtures, and a noisy split unit with no heat. I contacted management about getting a key. 1/18/25: I messaged management to schedule internet installation (1/22/25, 2-5 pm). 1/20/25: Followed up on the key and split unit maintenance. Management responded they would provide a key and address the heating issue. 1/27/25: Followed up on move-in issues and asked about a fob. Management confirmed they would provide one and set up maintenance. 1/28/25: Internet tech confirmed faulty wiring from the telecom room. I relayed this to management. 2/3/25: HVAC tech arrived but couldn’t get in touch with management. I had to let him in. He identified the split unit needed a new blower. I informed management. 2/13/25: Sent a detailed message outlining all the issues. Received a building code but no fob/key. Internet tech visit scheduled for 2/17/25. 2/17/25: Internet tech arrived but couldn’t access the telecom room. No response from management. 2/21/25: Technician confirmed wiring issue. Followed up with management. 2/24/25: Another technician confirmed cables couldn’t be fixed by him. I flagged down a worker to call management. By this point, I had no internet since 2/21/25, which is an issue since I work from home. 2/25/25 - 3/5/25: Continued to reach out for updates on the internet issue with little response from management. Final Thoughts: Do not move here. If you face issues, getting management to resolve them is a long and frustrating process. Be prepared for constant follow-ups and poor communication.
Our AC/Heat has been broken since we moved in over 6 months ago. Many other things were broken/ non functional when we moved in, and took them months to fix. At this point, they have still not fixed the AC/Heat and the managers/ those working for the property seem to have disappeared. Have had 8 or so maintenance requests that have not been addressed for 3 months. Would suggest living elsewhere.
I only write reviews when they are 100% deserved and I have done enough research to objectively bring my opinion value. Here is a summary of my situation leading up to my decision to live at The Celine so that the full picture is perceived. I lived in fantastic building under a great management team in the NE but my lease was up and I wanted to live in a NW neighborhood. I moved here almost 2 years ago from Los Angeles and was missing that big city buzz. The search for my next spot was on like Donkey Kong!! Between the research I had done when moving from out of state in addition to moving within Portland, I have visited or contacted almost every new/old building that exists or will in the near future. I am picky as my home in addition to where I put my money is very important to me. Many of them have significant concessions and offer certain ammenities that are appealing. I personally found that The Celine was the only one that hit all the marks I was looking for within the neighborhood I desired to live. I found them to be true luxury homes set at the right value. The most significant factors leading to my decision are as follows: 1. It is by far the hottest building on the block in one of the best neighborhoods. 2. My leasing agent was knowledgeable, professional, helpful, patient, respectful and kind. She made the entire process much less stressful than it usually is and continues to do an outstanding job even after I moved in. Remember renting a home is very different than purchasing a pair of shoes that have a return window. I personally want to be living around people that are honest and care about their business. 3. The modern interiors, timeless design, beautiful floor to ceiling windows, technologically advanced appliances, swirled marble counter tops, hardwood flooring throughout, and perfect lighting is to die for. 4. The neighborhood is vibrant. You get the best of both worlds, big city electricity mixed with peaceful Oregon nature, which equals true balance. The streets are safe, well lit, and filled with great shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues. 5. Since I have moved in I have noticed several people on a daily basis admire the building as they walk past. Many making complimentary statements or expressing desire to possibly live here. 6. Your friends will be Jelly. 7. I did the research for you - save yourself time and effort. Remember if you snooze you may loose. Check out The Celine before it fills up!
