The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at The Bowen
I have been living at the Bowen Apartments since August 2015. Since the change in management In March 2018 this place is horrible. The apartments are beautiful but the floors are very thin and you can hear you neighbors alarm clock when it sounds. Just an example of how thin the floors are here. It is hit or miss if you have a quiet resident above you. The Property Management is also useless and very confrontational. Most residents here like the apartment but hate the management team. Last lease here. Maintenance also sucks now under new management. Don’t waste your time. You are treated subpar to be a luxury community. Additionally they gave homeless people squatting in the hallways and in residents storage units.
I didn't need to rent an apartment for another 5-6 weeks when my current lease was up. So then Michael lost interest because they only had one 1 BR that they wanted to rent immediately I guess, and they didn't have another one for a few months. In other words, the timing of their availability and my timeline to move would not work out. Nevertheless, he advised me to go on line and complete an application and get on their waiting list. Why would I get on a waiting list? Why would anyone? If you're looking for an apartment, you need it fairly soon. And if you moved somewhere else in the meantime, you would have a lease you couldn't easily break. The only reason I can think of is so they can take your $44 fee for nothing. This is waaay too much trouble, unless I am missing something ??? The apartments seem nice though and if they had one, I probably would have taken it. Still, something is not quite right.
First, I can only give 4 stars thus far being a new resident, otherwise I'd start at 5. But I can say that from the beginning of my exhaustive apartment search, the Front Office Staff (Mike, Ricardo, Monica, Teraya, Autumn-Joi, Tika) have all been exceptional in their responsiveness, answering every question, their honesty, and ensuring that the process was a smooth as possible. The Apartments themselves are almost Hotel-Like in their design; spacious bathrooms, granite countertops, laminate wood flooring, and the bedrooms provide plenty of space; the style is elegant and inviting. The clubhouse is by far the best I've seen in the area, with a full 20 seat theatre room that can be reserved (for free) by all residents. One of the standout features to me, is the responsiveness of the Service Staff (Maintenance). I've dealt with their entire team during my move-in process, and they are beyond exceptional. Whether it was a cabinet knob that seemed off, or adding dimmers (i purchased) to my lights, or replacing shower heads, to just general maintenance I haven't had to wait more than a few hours for a response, and more than a day or so for resolution. Isaiah, (Service Tech) has been exceptional in his responsiveness, communication, and assistance on all levels.Truly professional, prompt and made sure things were done right the first time and quickly. Dennis (the Service Manager I believe) has been direct, and professional with all questions, the walk-through etc and provided great support. I felt settled in far quicker than I would have normally getting all my questions, requests, concerns addressed in a timely manner and I think the team here does a great job overall. My hope is that as time goes on, I will only have to modify this review to re-affirm what's stated above. My 9 year old daughter loves the environment here, the location to her school and proximity to everything else. The neighbors have been informative and very approachable thus far. I'd invite anyone considering this as their next home to check it out directly, and great luck.
Property Manager at The Bowen, Responded To This Review
Thanks for the feedback, reviewer-name. We strive to provide excellent service to our customers at The Bowen. Wishing you a great day until the next time we meet.
I like some other residents have had many problems here at harmony place. When we moved in our key fobs weren't working and we couldn't get into the gate or into the building. I would constantly go to the front office about it and nothing was done. Our guest still can not get into the building without us leaving the apartment to let them in. Second everything in the apartment home breaks... Our toilet would not flush for the first 3 weeks we were there and had to keep complaining about it. Our washing machine, dish washer, refrigerator, anything you name has stopped working. I understand that everything isn't going to go right, but the staff doesn't make it any better. They are very rude and act like they are being bothered by anything you ask. They are nice for the most part when you are looking to rent but once they get your money they DO NOT care about any questions or concerns you may have. I would NOT recommend moving here, it is not worth your hard earned money!
we moved into Harmony Place in December of 2014. when I told my husband where we were going to live he said, you happy? then everything is fine. He went to see it and was very pleased with my choice. with the hardwood floors, the gas fire place, stainless steal appliances and granite counter tops. we were in heaven. This appartment is 1410 sq. ft on a quite floor we decided to take it. we signed papers and it was ours. we have been happy ever since. Just enough room not to much to clean.. couldn't ask for more. everyone should come and take a look at our place to live and see for themselves.
The apartment itself is nice, but the management sucks. The response time is slow for issues and you will have to make repeated follow-up calls to get response. The place is very overpriced for what you get. Walls are paper thin.
I have been at Harmony Place for a little over 2 years now. The first year was rough under a different management company. Now we have Buzzuto's management team on site and it has been an amazing turn around. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Lots of events for the tenants to meet their neighbors. It feels like home. The convenience to shopping, entertainment and restaurants is a plus. Everything within walking distance. Love this place and management.
The title of these apartments are appropriately titled. Harmony Place. I've liked this place from the moment i toured the apartments fro the first time in January 2014. I moved in February 2014 and presently still a resident. I really like my apartment and the free garage parking was A huge Plus. This same apartment in DC would cost more money per month and the parking would cost an additional $150-$200 a month extra. The amenities in the apartment are top notch and the management team here is very good. If I don't end up buying a house I will most likely renew my lease again.
Harmony Place luxury apartments r the best, where else will u go n Prince George's that has a garage apartment and great amenities and I can go on and on, but don't take my word for it, come see for yourself and get the "Wow " affect!!!!!
