West Ashley sits within the city of Charleston and is west of the Ashley River, hence its name, and is the birthplace of Hootie & the Blowfish’s frontman, Darius Rucker. Lined with mossy oaks, the Ashley and Stono Rivers border West Ashley, creating the breathtaking scenery for which Charleston is known. West Ashley residents enjoy close proximity to the area's only indoor mall, the Citadel Mall, and a large number of big-box stores.
Situated seven miles due west of Downtown Charleston, residents can plan on a 15- to 30-minute drive, depending on traffic, to take in all downtown has to offer. Nearby Interstate 526, which feeds directly into Charleston’s Interstate Highway 26, gives residents a fast and easy route in and out of area. Mid- to late-1900s ranch-style homes characterize the housing in outer West Ashley, but neighborhoods built in the 2000s also sprinkle the area.

Overall it’s a nice location and they have decent amenities. Some areas of concern are that the pool is not properly cleaned and serviced often and parking has become difficult recently as there is a lot of noise and dust from construction nearby.

The office staff and maintenance staff are fabulous! The community is well kept and the finishes in the apartments are great. You have Harris teeter, Walmart, Starbucks, Mexican restaurant all within walking distance. Overall a great place to live!

Overall we’ve had a great experience here. I enjoy living in such a small community, where there aren’t a ton of people. The apartments are nice and surprisingly large. We toured a few popular complexes in this area, and this one was the best by far and for the price.

In the 3 months I’ve lived at The Beckett I’ve really enjoyed my time. I use the coffee machine in the club house daily and also enjoy using the gym and pool facilities (when it was warm enough for the pool of course) It’s been a huge move to come from Pennsylvania to South Carolina but The Beckett staff and community has made it feel like home in just a short amount of time.

This is the first apartment community l have lived in for years. The Beckett is nice and clean. It’s a smaller apartment community which is great for me and my dog. I like that the area is well lit. Rachel and Anna are always welcoming, warm, and friendly. They’re are both quick to respond to any request or needs. I've lived here for well over a year & a half. The complete staff here is excellent & the facilities are amazing. The location here is convenient & close to virtually everything. I've been living here almost two years and I love it.Everybody has been very helpful to me. Rachel is a very sweet person and she helps men with anything I need. Anna is also sweet and helpful. The maintenance guys are super when it comes to fixing things and they get it done as quick as they can . Their all very friendly; polite and professional. I feel very safe living here.

My sister and I have lived at The Beckett for one year and we recently renewed our lease. The apartments are gorgeous and the community center is great. We love the coffee machine and gym. The staff is very reliable and is quick to help. They have regular events which are very fun.

I have loved my time here! I moved in sight unseen from CA and have been happy I chose this complex. The staff is wonderful and it has fantastic amenities. The team puts together group events that help make the property feel like a community. The fixtures inside the apartment are well done and selected with care. Also the coffee machine in the lobby is so good it has replaced my Starbucks run.

Apartments are very nice inside and you get what you pay for. Every time I have issue they are quick to respond and take care of it promptly. Staff is friendly and helpful. Clubhouse is awesome and fancy. Pool is where it’s at during the summer.

The team here is amazing and very responsive to any requests you have. Great amenities and super clean, neat spaces. You will have to deal with heavy traffic if you’re commuting downtown in the mornings but it’s worth it for such a great space. Highly recommend!

Everyone has been very nice and helpful. We have lived here for over a year and it’s been pleasant. The newest additional to our community was the dog area which is great for pet owners.
Great amenities! The gym, clubhouse and pool are fantastic!! The free coffee is a welcome touch for those hard to wake up mornings when I am low on creamer at my apartment!

Very nice place!! But lack of communication here. The maintenance team is awesome! The office never answers their phones and when they do they can’t answer any questions because they don’t know anything.

Great apartment but being on the ground floor means water leaks when it rains heavily. Have had hot water problems ( burnt our heating element ) & had to replace new defective washing machine too.

I had the best experience living here! Anna who works in the office is always so friendly and outgoing! I am leaving due to work, but hope to find a place I love almost as much as this one! I Would Recommend these apartments to anyone! - its a newer community, but the leasing office bends over backwards to accommodate the residents!
I moved to Madison Harper from out of state about 2 months ago and I just have to say I am so appreciative of how easy and smooth the team made this process for me! I was unable to visit prior but, the team offered a Facetime tour for both myself and my roommate and we were pleased to see upon arrival that everything was just as great once we arrived as it was on our Facetime tour. We love our apartment and really enjoy the space and all the kitchen storage! I highly recommend Madison Harper especially if you are having to make a big move from afar!
2.5 months here, 2 months of roaches of ALL variety and as the prior person said the little worms get in. Unfortunately, this site does not allow pictures. Not sanitary or hygienic and frankly embarrassing.
The team is so helpful and attentive. If you have a need, consider it done. The apartments are beautiful and really spacious. Love living here!!!!
This is a new community. Insects such as worms can be found throughout the apartments. The brand new appliances such as washer and dryers do not work.
