The building is really nice and well-maintained and I love the area it is in. There is a lot of construction going on next door, which concerns me in terms of how busy and congested the area may get if new apartments are put up or if they have to shut street lanes down during construction. I am also concerned with how much rent will go up year to year as the building starts to fill up more since Bozzuto properties tend to do that to people.

The Barrett has a sophisticated and modern style which is well maintained and cared for by the staff. The staff is very friendly and always willing to assist residents with their concerns. The amenities (pool, shopping, rooftop lounge, etc.) makes the experience of living at the Barrett incredibly enjoyable.

The apartment is nice. There are far more cons unfortunately. Wish the management were more considerate. Example, the scheduled and unscheduled fire alarms inconveniently disturb everyone’s day with an unreasonable window of 9am-5pm. Kids are sleeping, animals are terrified, people got class or work at their place but get disrupted by unnecessary noise throughout the day. Then there’s the inconsiderate neighbors that have been leaving stuff in front of my apartment ever since I moved here. Oil, poop, and trash was spilled right outside my door and it was Sweep it under the rug by management. Also, forget going to work on time with the streetlights being Awful from 7 am - 9 am, you’ll be waiting at the light for 5 mins or more of the sensor is not triggered. Overall, I lived in so many different places, the amount of money I spend at this place is not worth the experience.

No complaints here! Taylor, Phillip, Maria, and the team are fantastic! No revolving door of leasing agents or concierge staff. The building is always clean, residents are friendly, and events are so much fun! I love living here and would 10/10 recommend. The only thing is the gym has specific hours and in the summer the pool is always busy but those are very minor things. It is worth living here if you can afford to. I never hear construction. 10 minutes away from DC, 2 minutes away from Bethesda (via car). You can always walk to Bethesda in 30 minutes or less. Very safe neighborhood.

Pros: Impeccable cleaning staff and concierge Cons: Upstairs neighbors stomp around in their shoes at almost all hours of the day, some neighbors don’t treat the trash room well and don’t push the trash down the chute, leave their trash bags to pile in the room even. Some leave their shoes displayed at their door for everyone to see which makes the apartment look trashy. Some refuse to clean up after their dogs.

The building, its amenities and overall living conditions are exactly how we anticipated they would be when we decided to move in. The attention to exquisite design and fine details, the upscale environment and atmosphere that this concept intended to create, create indeed a one of a kind living experience, if one looks for the best comforts outside of an individual home in a good and safe neighborhood. The management and all other members of the team are friendly and helpful, definitely playing their part in this overall amazing community concept. The area is also great, that is if you are not reliant on public transport. And most importantly, it’s very safe and quiet… However, the only reason not giving this community a 5 star rating has to do with some tenants’ behaviors and actions that are definitely not in sync with neither management’s best intentions, nor with the rules of communal living that they had agreed to upon signing their lease agreements.

We’ve been in our apartment since August 2023, so we’ve had a nice amount of time to get used to the place, the apartment block and the Chevy Chase lake community, and we’re thrilled with it. The apartment itself is pretty much perfect for us, I love the layout we chose, and the position of the apartment. It’s a beautiful building, the communal areas of both our apartment (The Claude) and The Barrett are so stylish and high end, it just feels like we’re living in a top hotel, and who can ask for more than that? The leasing team are a bonus too.. not only they get us in with efficiency and professionalism, they continue to be top notch and work tirelessly to ensure the community members are looked after. My only gripe would be that it’s a little louder than we would have liked, which is why I knocked a star off. I would still highly recommend a viewing, and we’re so glad we found it.. We’re here for 3 years and I can’t imagine wanting to go anywhere else.

Great community, lovely amenities, beautiful property. The only reason why I didn’t give a five stars is because it is impossible to sleep past 7 AM because of the nonstop construction that is constantly happening. Additionally, the windows are thin so you hear all of the noise from Connecticut Avenue.

The Barrett is nice and super convenient. The only reason not a 5 star is a few lingering issues. The security on the door to the garage and the badge and control access has been spotty. Doors that don't lock, garage door operation failing at times and the parking itself needs a clean up of the dust and construction left overs. The rest is very good
