The Addy

The leasing team, specifically Taz, has made moving in a great experience. Taz as well as Sam in maintenance, has been beyond helpful making sure I'm happy with The Addy. My unit is clean, functional, and has a great floor plan with huge windows. I would recommend the Addy to anyone, and I wish I found it sooner in my apartment search.

The addy is in a great location. Centrally located to most things in the area so it’s easy to walk or bike anywhere in the city. This is in a generally safe area with food, bars, and coffee located near by.

Every concern or issue was taken care of. The staff is very nice. I love my apartment, with the updated look and washer and dryer in my unit. There is a community event about every month where you can meet your neighbors and have some snacks. Highly recommend.

A fantastic experience with initial move in steps! Everyone has been so helpful, attentive and knowledgeable about the process. Looking forward to continuing to work with everyone.

Especially Taz, she is amazing. The building in general is clean and everything works. I like the community events. The people who clean the common areas are nice too.

A nice place to live. Clean warm & simple. No bells and whistles but a very decent apartment. Maintenance is quick & everyone who works here is very kind.

I’ve had 3 different property manager during my time in 3 years. I’ve had a good and decent experience. Maintenance has been great. The building isn’t loud or noisy as the pets and most young professionals live here.

My apartment is affordable, modern, and so quiet! And seeing other people's pets as I come and go is an added bonus. The staff is nice and ready to answer any questions you have.

Communication is definitely not the greatest here... Supposed to be moving in pretty soon but no one has gotten back to me regarding insurance, security deposit, or even the lease.

Great move in so far and was very fast to get in here. Taz is very kind and helpful as well as the maintenance manager fixes anything very quickly.

Very quiet and repairs are quick. Building safety needs to be improved because it is way too east to get inside even if you don't have a key.

I really am enjoying living at the Addy. The building is in great shape, well maintained, I feel safe, and I love the neighborhood. The staff are super friendly and helpful.

The Addy has been a wonderful place for me to stay for a couple years or so now. The staff have been so kind and accommodating to me. I can really count on them for anything I need. Sam, currently in charge of maintenance goes above and beyond to make sure everything gets taken care of and is efficient and effective at his job! I appreciate everyone for making my stay here wonderful. I have made memories here that will stay with me for a long time and staff that treated me with kindness and respect. Thank you Addy staff for helping me to feel safe and at home in the neighborhood and for always looking out for me! I am moving to a new neighborhood with a house and roommates but otherwise I would gladly continue to call the Addy my home. Thank you again Addy staff and residents!

My room is incredibly quiet with a great view and more space than expected. All of the staff are super nice & helpful. I would absolutely recommend this apartment.

My move in was so easy. Taz is wonderful. The assigned a elevator for the movers to be able to get In and out efficiently. Everything was better than expected.

Awesome building, kind on-site staff for the office (Taz) and Maintenance lead Sam. Beautifully designed and kept apartments. Clean and welcoming community room and patio. Unit came with a brand new a/c and it works great! Love living here.

The location is good nearby to restaurants, to my gym and stores. The view from my unit is amazing. Staff are amazing and friendly. Only need updates on electrical due to cannot accommodate higher voltage like air conditioning.

Nice building, some quirks but nothing that would make it unlivable. Fantastic options for outdoor space!!

Over priced rent for lack of amenities and no air conditioning. Neighborhood isnt safe cars and lobby and bike room get broken into frequently.

The Addy is a great place to live. The area around The Addy is ideal as 23rd and The Pearl are so close! I have found great food and parks near for me and my pup. I feel safe in the area and recommend to anyone :)!

I lived in a one bedroom for a little over a year and a half. During the tour we were not told that the temperature control was for heating only. There is no air conditioning in these units. We lived here during the heatwave when temperatures were 90-116 degrees. Addy Management addressed this in an email: "Residents have previously been provided a complimentary portable air conditioner to help with the heat. These A/C units, based on their size, are designed to cool a small room but not the entire living space of your apartment home." The "complimentary" portable a/c unit attaches to a hole in the wall so all you're doing is bringing in the hot air from outside and blowing it around your apartment. Despite running the portable a/c unit at its lowest and keeping a ceiling fan and two additional fans running, the floor of the kitchen/living area was still so hot that it felt like asphalt on your feet in the summer. The lobby was super cool with its central air though, so I'm happy for management! Always looking out for themselves. I did not feel safe here. We lived on the top floor and late at night we started hearing heavy footsteps on the roof. After calling the after hours emergency line we were eventually put through to the Property Manager. She told us that this was something that happens sometimes and they "were dealing with someone smart" because they can pick the lock to the roof. Her recommended solution was for my husband to check the lock if we heard footsteps again, lock it if it's unlocked to trap the trespassers on the roof, and call the police. This is not the only security issue that The Addy has. Management does not care about your safety. To quote another email from management, "Greystar strives to help keep our premises safe but as you can appreciate, crime occurs everywhere and no one can ensure your safety or the safety of your belongings." This is something they include in an email each time there is a break-in or theft, and there have been many. They include it even when cars are broken into or stolen, even though parking is $195/month. They care only about money and it shows by how much they penny pinch. Even though you pay for trash every month, there's still a $25 fee for anything that doesn't fit down their tiny trash chute and they're constantly putting up memos pushing for people to make reservations for their $100-150/night guest suite or to pay $25-100 for additional storage space. I would not recommend this property.

The Addy is a great place to live with good amenities, overall cleanliness, and a location that is unbeatable.

As a 19 year old male, just moving to downtown Portland. The Addy has been a great fit, not only for the price for such a beautiful view of the city but for such convenience to get anywhere in the downtown area either through bike or car if youre looking to move downtown I would highly recommend The Addy as your place to stay!

The Addy apartments are in a great safe clean neighborhood right on the streetcar stop, in between Pearl District, Slabtown, and shops on 23rd. The staff are friendly and quick to respond. The building allows pets and cleans the hallways/elevators often. Laundry in every unit and modern features with gorgeous floor to ceiling window views. Very happy I chose to rent here!

If youre looking for a comfortable apartment where management is friendly and efficient, which treats their canine residents as well as they do their paying ones, and which sits right on the street car route, giving you access every 15 minutes to any part of the city, youve found it in The Addy!

Terrible! Amenities dont work the heater doesnt work in the unit the air conditioner doesnt work!

The management is friendly, efficient, and thorough.

Cool building, excellent location (easy commute to anywhere), friendly staff, and they just added AC to all homes sooooo... overall great place!

I just moved into the Addy recently and I'm glad I did. The staff have been very quick with responding to any of my questions and made the process so much easier. I think my favorite part about the community is just how walkable everything is. I can walk to Safeway for regular groceries or New Seasons for organic items. This neighborhood is so great for my companion Lucy too, there's a lot of nice pet-friendly businesses close-by for all of her needs. There was a parking option available at the time but I opted for the Zone M permit, it's a bit more effort but it is a great way to save some money. I was concerned about the lack of AC but they have installed ports so I've purchased a unit ready to go for the warmer months. I'd definitely recommend moving here!

The Apartment building, location, and some of the amenities are nice. Modern, convenient, and important for any renter. However, there are factors that make it hard to live here. Although the streetcar is literally right at the door step (which I love), but if you have a car it will be difficult to find parking especially because there is a wait list for the garage and not many spaces in it. Also, there is no AC, a fact that I didn't take into account at the time. They won't let you install your own portable ones, and most of the units don't have the windows for it. Though they are starting to install some in the units, only one side of the building is being done and I'm sweating all day long in my apartment, even when I am sleeping. Which is definitely an issue for the price you are paying for to live here. What makes this building difficult as well is the fact that they have changed staff three times already within a year and the building had changed ownership as well. It causes inconsistency in terms of care and developing a relationship, and no longer really feels professional. Otherwise, this is a great spot in terms of location. I walk almost everywhere, and it's a nice building. I feel I may definitely be overpaying, especially d/t lack of some living needs, but there are always pros and cons to a living scenario.
