Property Ratings at TGM McDowell Place
I am a current resident. I wish ihad read the reviews before I signed the lease. We feel like we are basically living outside. The number of insects we've seen here is ridiculous. Now my daughter has yellow jackets constantly invading her room. Put 3 work orders in asked them to check the furnace room for a nest. I told them they have to be coming in through the vents. I was told to close the vents and tape around them. The office staff is extremely unprofessional and lack empathy. There is NO way anyone working here would find it acceptable to live under such conditions. Will NOT be renewing any lease.
Scheduled an appointment with Diana to see a two bedroom on Sunday at 11:30. Received an email confirmation as well as an email reminder. We drove almost 40 minutes and arrived early to be sure we didn’t leave her waiting. Upon arrival at the leasing office door, a woman yelled from inside “We open at 12:00.” We explained we had an 11:30 appointment with Diana and had email confirmation. She again yelled across the room, “Well we don’t open until 12:00.” She finally came to the door and said it did not matter that someone scheduled with us, Diana wasn’t even in the office today, and she maybe could show us something at 12:00. We were unable to wait as we scheduled many tours given our tight timeline to rent. The leasing office is in the business of sales. If they cannot honor a confirmed appointment or accommodate a possible scheduling error on their end in order to make a sale I cannot image what poor service one would receive once locked into a contract.
I wouldn’t recommend anyone staying here, they have rat/rodent infestation. I complained about it 3 weeks ago and it hasn’t been resolved yet. I have been pretty much living somewhere else from past 3 weeks because of it as my place isn’t livable. I’m counting days so I can get out of here. They also need to train their office staff properly, one of the staff called me and said I don’t need renters insurance because im moving out soon but after few weeks their manager calls and says they were wrong and they will force put a renters insurance on my bill as it is required. Overall if you don’t want stress in your life avoid this building.
PLEASE SABE YOUR MONEY By not moving into this community! If you really earned your money with your hard work!!! The community staff will be so so so nice until you sign agreement! Very old apartments and no security or any assistance from the community! Disrespect management! This is very dangerous community because of daily drug activities! If you have small children, please DO NOT MOVE HERE OR WANT TO SAVE YOUR MONEY! MANAGEMENT is PREPOSTEROUS, DISRESPECTFUL, OFFENSIVE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!
Lived here 5 years ago so management may have changed. When I lived there management was rude and very dishonest. They would tell you one thing when you signed the lease and then would not fulfill their end of the bargain. Also apartments are cheaply made. I would go down the street to one of the other apartment places.

Michael and the maintenance crew rock!! Very friendly crew, know their jobs, get stuff fixed quickly and/or get it replaced really quick!!! They clean up after themselves like they were never in my unit. Almost like magical elves replace broken stuff by means of wizardry. Even my dog likes these guys!!!!!

While their location is good, the experience is made poor by the indifferent treatment by their business managers. They only talk in terms of business/money and are unwilling (and rude) when requests are made
We wanted to move as early as possible and the staffs were really helpful even when we called to see the apartment during their closing time (We had to do this twice). Artoria even accommodated our request to change an appliance in the kitchen. She took extra effort to find in which apartment they could change the appliance and did it. Both Sarah and Artoria were very helpful in answering our queries and made the move in smoother. The apartment is very closer to main locations and having a small grocery store nearby is an added plus. Maintenance team is doing a great job, till now whatever requests raised were addressed within 2 days. I am giving 4 star due to the towing services they have hired, its been a month we have residents vehicles parked in handicapped parking (no stickers / temporary pass) without being towed and we did once(as all the spaces were full) and our vehicle was towed. Still we could see vehicles parked in handicapped parking (Even while I am posting this there is one vehicle parked from yesterday evening) and no towing is done which is giving a wrong picture to people who moved recently and they have to face the heat. Other than this the place is very good, a peaceful and calm environment to stay and friendly neighbours.
I have been living in the TGM McDowell place for the last 5 years and i am still loving it. The unit is very spacious and modern. It is really close to my work and also close to Route 59 where i do most of my shopping, eating out, groceries, Metra train station, etc. It is also really close to I-88 if i have to go to Chicago or the Premium Outlet. The staff is really nice and helpful and has been very quick in every maintenance request I had during these years and they are always organizing events for the community.
We looked around to see many apartments before we actually moved in. Honestly this is one of the very few apartments we liked. This is a very nice and peaceful place, specially suitable for families who are looking for friendly neighborhood. This is also very close to route 59 which boasts all shopping places. I am also personally pleased with many fun and social activities that leasing office is hosting for the community. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who is especially new to Naperville and looking for a nice apartment.
We have just renewed our lease and have been living here for 2 years now. The apartments are spacious and well maintained. Close to the mall, railway station and is located in a great neighborhood. It is located in a very good school district. The management responds quickly to all maintenance requests. We always had a great time at their social events for the residents.
I cannot say enough great things about how professional, responsive, courteous, and knowledgeable the staff at McDowell Place Apartments have been. The maintenance staff is very knowledgeable and the will work until the problem is solved. Living here is a wonderful experience and times very entertaining. I would highly recommend this property to others.
Everything is well kept. From the amenities to the services they render. The management is approachable and they respond to your needs immediately When it snows you don't have to worry they're going to take care of it. They alert you whenever there's a package waiting for you. There's a pool during summer. You can also hang out and unwind at the club house you can use the computer and enjoy the wifi, plus a good coffee. You can also go to the gym anytime you prefer. it's feels more than just an aparment, it's more of a community. thumbs up!
My fiancee and I just moved into our first home together: a townhome style apartment located here at TGM Naperville. It is safe to say that we were a bit nervous about the move, taking on new responsibilities, and making it truly our first home. I cannot express how great the move-in experience has been, and how nice our home is now that we are settled. The front office staff are always cheerful and eager to greet and help. We put in maintenance requests before we moved in, and within the first few days all of it was taken care of. Artoria and the office staff made the move-in process simple, having copies of all the paperwork, responding to emails quickly, coming in earlier on their own time to help make sure we were settled, and overall going above and beyond to make us comfortable. A few days into staying here, maintenance came to take care of some of our concerns (small patching of walls, providing paint for scuffs, looking over some things we had questions about, etc.). Both Mikes and Miguel visited us and took care of our concerns, as well as provided tips to make our living more comfortable as we made this transition in our lives. As we have begun to settle, find places for our furniture and miscellaneous things, it is safe to say that we are in love with our new home. Not only do we have plenty of space with our layout, but things are positioned and laid out in a functional manner. The open living concept that connects with our kitchen is perfect for entertaining guests. Both bedrooms offer large walk-in closets with great space for storage. Overall, everything flows together beautifully. I am grateful to the staff and community here, and look forward to being a part of it.

Highly professional but at the same time very humble as well.The events they have are fun (Valentine's Day bingo, Christmas gift wrapping, Ice cream socials) and thoughtful (Breakfast on the go). Recently the apartments and clubhouse were upgraded. The construction process was quick and painless. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and they're really on top of salting and clearing snow. Maintenance is quick to respond to any issues, and are very professional. TGM Apartments are modern and well maintained with good amenities. It's also close to all Shops, Restaurants & Banks , which is extremely good considering the weather conditions during winters. Staff members at leasing office were generous and responsive in handling any queries/concerns. Finally, good place to live and has lots of open spaces to walk around and enjoy your time with loved ones....

My husband and I have lived here for almost a full year now and have been pleased with our experience here. We like that although it's close to highway 88 and many restaurants and shops, the complex is tucked away in a quiet community. Friendly staff, spacious bedrooms, and dog friendly!
TGM is a very cozy atmosphere. This apartment offers various amenities anyone could ask for. Management is very caring and on top of their game. If something breaks in your apartment, maintance is at your doorstep within a week to fix anything. This facility keeps their property well cleaned and presentable. Neighbors are really nice, easy to get along with, and mind their own business. I would recommend anyone looking for a nice spacious place to call home to check out TGM McDowell Place.
I'm in my second year here at TGM McDowell Place and I'm absolutely loving it. The apartments are nice (updated), maintenance is speedy and good at their job, the clubhouse and workout space is very nice and new and the staff is very friendly. It's a great place to call home.
I have lived here for a little less than a year. My apartment is very spacious and has all the amenities I could want for a big apartment. Doing lots of research before coming to TGM McDowell, I am glad I chose this place. The staff is always friendly and helpful with all needs including getting anything fixed, package deliveries, and special request. I may stay here another year...Thanks TGM! Also my neighbors are awesome!
I have lived here for 5 years now and I have been really happy. Besides the fact that it's a great location, I feel safe here. The property is clean and the staff/maintenance has been very quick to help when I've needed something taken care of.
This is the first place i lived in USA and truly it has made me feel home !! amazing experience and very super community to live in. bachelor or a family it is perfect for everybody. adjacent to route 59 and super close to route 59 metra station. supermarkets are closer for easy access. costco, wallmart, fox valley mall, petsmart etc are not more than 15 minutes away. TGM mcdowells is one of the best community so far, we did explore other communities but me and my husband are so bound to this community and home that we do not wanna leave it. rent is cheaper as compared to other communities plus the benefits in this community are double. exceptionally spacious and well maintained gym, bark park, computer access in the community centre, cleaner surroundings and friendly and supporting staff members are like cherry on the cake. maintenance is awesome too! definitely recommend this community to everyone!!
Been living here for two years and loved it so far. The staff is always friendly and responsive and the living environment's really nice. The dog park is definitely a plus and it has expanded twice as big last year. This place is close to route 59 and I-88, and there are lots of restaurants and places to go within 10 minutes drive. I've decided to renew my lease for a third year and recommand this place
The staff are not well informed and trained. When I moved in the apartment wasn't clean. The patio had cob webs, the toilet had molds formed, bulbs were not working in the apartment. You think after paying the high deposit and completing the formalities on your part, the management will take care of these things. When I visited the place and inquired about the resident referral, the staff member told "Sure, you will get it. Just tell me the name and the address of the referral." After moving in when I checked with them for the status they mentioned we cannot give it now. So, I was misled by the staff and when I checked with the staff manager I was told that the staff is new and thus she might have miscommunicated. So TGM got away by just saying a sorry but I did not get the $500 resident referral. Regarding the rooms, make sure that the apartment you are interested in gets sunlight. Kitchen is very small in a 2 bedroom.
The complex was just purchased by TGM Associates. This is good and bad because they're going to renovate all of the apartments while we're stilling living in them, however rent will go up. It's a nicely landscaped property that's well maintained, the property manager is fabulous, and the maintenance team is very friendly and helpful. The only downside is that they do seem to have a lot of inspections through the year that require access to all of the apartments.
