Property Ratings at Tessera Apartments
I used to love my apartment here. Quiet, secure, safe with a management team that cared. Since the new owners took over it has been a nightmare. They got rid of an amazing management crew (and one of the BEST on site maintenance crews) for a company that turned off the online portal, got rid of all electronic payment options with less than 5 days notice, and now the website to verify insurance won't work. Notices are only sent out if someone complains. The new portal charges a flat $55 'convenience' fee - and if you pay on a paper check, they don't provide proper receipts. I am beyond sad to see what has happened to a place I happily called home in less than 1 month. It 100% feels like the new property management company is trying to get as many people to leave as possible.
This is the worst place Ive ever lived. They change the office hours without notice and are suddenly working half days and the maintenance is terrible. They put little effort into amenities and let things stay broken. If you ask for a follow up they dont respond for days. Management seems to not care about its tenants and then pick and choose which residents to support. We have disruptive neighbors they do nothing about except claim theyve talked to them. If you get a package you better hope you have a day off because management wont be in the office when you come home. By the way if you expect to get mail make sure you work from home because their office hours which include picking up mail are only from 2 pm to 5 pm and theyre outright closed on Tuesdays so dont expect your mail on the second day of the week. So we are now forced to setup a PO Box even though this place receives mail. Ridiculous.
Very friendly staff and extremely communicative. We were walked through the entire process, never left in the dark and wondering, and actually turned down another apartment complex because Zhanna and Tessera were much more transparent and forthcoming about what we needed to get in. We finally were notified of our tenantship, and were welcomed in a friendly and thorough manner. The apartment is spacious and clean. The balcony is new, and the dining room walk in is HUGE. I think we'll be very pleased living here. C & L LDV
This place is dysfunctional, dirty, and just plain awful. The apartment when I first moved in was very dirty, a lot of the appliances did not work, the front office operates from 9-5 so good luck getting in, if you work. There is literally never any parking. Multiple apartments have black mold. The show case apartment is 100 times nicer than the apartment you will actually get. I am excited to break lease, it’s work the 3 grand to get out of here
I moved here in September and was never given the move in packet with the overview of what is wrong with your apartment, even after asking 3 different times. The toilet leaked and the neighbors upstairs smoke cigarettes in their apartment. This made my apartment smell like this, and they did nothing about it. I have complained about mold growing in my apartment 2x and they told me to open my window to let the moisture out. It is 30 degrees outside, I do not want to open my window. Management never answers emails or telephone and closes the office before closing everyday. I do not recommend living here.

I would never rent from them again, the 2 ladies do not care about this place, I have reported 3 times a problem with my dishwasher and they ask if they can enter to fix it and I say yes but it is never fixed. The appliances are the cheapest you can get, Your lucky if you find them in the office. You will hear gunshots in the night. It's best to avoid Tessera apartments and it's management. There is nothing luxury about these apartments. Can't wait for my lease to end. And don't believe the office hours, they never abide by them.

Forget about mold, lack of parking, and expensive fees. The real problem with this apartment complex is the manager and the way she treats people. Do some research and read the reviews before considering this place.
Current resident and I wouldn't recommend on anything other than budget. The pet rent is just for profit apparently. They don't ever stock any pet station bags. I, myself, have stocked it more than the complex has since I moved in two months ago. The lawn is either a swamp or a dry brillo pad. No in-between. And the lawn service doesn't check anything before moving, so watch for flying debris and rocks. The parking rules are never enforced. Not only is there not enough of it, so it's full by dinner time, but the carports are commonly taken by people not paying for them. Which discourages people who do pay for them. The "no backing in" rule is never followed. Security is a joke. And the carports are flimsy tin that will collapse on your vehicle with a snow dust. The renovation is cheap, with limited storage, scratches, and shady craftsmanship. My dishwasher is busted but since I did not notice it within two days, I cannot have it fixed without blame on me. My shower rod is too high, letting water fall everywhere when I shower. The washer and dryer are very basic and will ruin your laundry. The staff ignores all requests unless it directly benefits them. Noise is a big issue. Noises apartments I've been in. Neighbors are all extremely loud. The walls are thin. Dirty walkways. Spiders everywhere. Lights constantly broken and out. Food and garbage on the ground. Basically, it's the cheapest thing not on casino that is somewhat presentable. But it sucks. Rent with caution.
I have enjoyed living at Tessera Apartment's for the past 2 years now. The neighbors are friendly and the staff has always treated me well and reacted to any issues quickly.
So, I'll start off with location. I love the area we live in now. Before we moved to Tessera, we lived on Marine View Drive, so this is an obvious upgrade. I live in, as the staffing call it, the 'townhome'. It's a two story, two bedroom, two bathroom apartment. Oddly enough, it's actually on top of a one bedroom apartment (which isn't terrible, but the downstairs people smoke, so I don't enjoy smelling that). It's a really well sized apartment. Besides the lack of water pressure and storage, it's fantastic. Of course though, with every apartment, there are pros and cons. Nothing is every going to be perfect. Next topic is staffing. I wouldn't say the apartment manager is the greatest (i.e. She has been rude). But fortunately, you don't have to deal with them unless there's a problem. Overall, I would recommend this apartment complex. It's cute, in a great, tucked away location, and the neighbors aren't obnoxiously loud. We hope to stay here for a long time. (:
