West Sacramento enjoys the unique privilege of being a fairly quiet residential community right next door to a thriving metropolis. Separated from the state capital only by the Sacramento River, West Sac (as the locals call it) shares virtually all of Sacramento’s resources, cultural and otherwise. The I Street Bridge and Tower Bridge both feed straight into Sacramento’s historic district and downtown entertainment district. On West Sacramento’s side of the river, one of the biggest attractions is the shopping, but scenic areas like River Walk Park and venues like Raley Field give folks plenty to do in their own neighborhood.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Sunset Village Apartments
I only lived here for five months, trying to find somewhere else all the while. My doormat was stolen. My apartment reeked of marijuana smoke, literally, EVERY day from neighbors! Noisy neighbors, including a family with a baby, dog, and arguing parents. You can hear everything almost clear as day, especially the traffic. Sirens go by about twice a day, loud af. Definitely a drug, crime, transient area. Smalllllllllll. I wasn’t sure how each one had so many people living in it, when I was just one person in mine! Yellow jackets starting coming in when it was warming up outside. Pretty sure there are bees nests in the walls. The office people are usually very nice, but they don’t answer/see online portal requests. One particular woman is not easy to work with, too.
This place is small, but perfectly fine for the price as long as you don’t need much room. Conveniently close to the grocery store. HOWEVER, this place is NOT smoke free, the description in this ad is a lie. They allow smoking outside and inside the apartments, which all have shared ventilation. If your neighbor smokes in their home it will come into your apartment through the connected vents, outlets, anything, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to block out or get rid of as long as they continue to smoke. Lease allows smoking so management won’t do anything. If you don’t mind the smoke this place is decent, but we moved to a $500 more expensive place just to escape the constant cigarette smoke INSIDE our apartment. It will enter your clothes, furniture, mattress, etc even if you never smoke yourself.
Honestly the apartments are 500 Square Feet so yes they are pretty small, but I lived here for about 2-3 years and let me tell you the property management (Joanna) is amazing. She cares for her tenants like they are family! Any time I had any issues she always made sure it was taken care of right away. Plus all the utilities are included, you pay nothing but rent! I can't tell Joanna thank you enough for all the help and kindness she has shown me. This is an amazing place to live!
Good size for one bedroom. $700 ac,dishwasher, tub. Rent includes utilities, even basic cable is included. Clean apartments. Clean neighborhood. Quiet. Curtious and prompt staff. Maintenance on property 24_7_365. Pets ok. Pool.gym.dvd library. Club house with pool table and wide screen tv. Some units are being converted to solar with centeral heat and air replacing the wall units.
Living in Sacramento has advantages such as one of the lowest rental cities in northern california but it also is infested with cats! You will see stray cats all over the city but mostly at my apartment complex. Aside from cats this complex has very small units with disher, cable provided and air conditioning and heating aswell as a pool. But I pity California for not taxing my landlord for attributiong to the drought, our tub/shower leaks water when showering water dispenses from the lower faucet. Besides that very convient to buses and grocery stores.
