Sunset Rock Apartments

Our experience at this complex was filled with poor communication and unresolved issues. We were promised a first-floor unit, but two weeks before moving in (from out of state), we were told it was no longer available and had to accept a second-floor unit. On move-in day, the property manager seemed surprised we arrived. The unit wasn’t ready, was still being cleaned, and the bathtub had been poorly reglazed — which peeled within a month. That spring, we discovered mold growing in our storage unit ceiling. We lost clothing, linens, and furniture due to the mildew. The complex offered no reimbursement, only a move to a smaller, less secure unit — at the same price. The washer stopped working properly and left clothes soaked. Maintenance dismissed the issue, but we later found the motor belt had snapped. We bought a new belt ourselves but couldn’t repair it. We were without laundry access for weeks with no help. Security was also a problem. Our car was broken into. The complex had cameras but never followed up or improved safety. A neighbor’s car was broken into the next year — still, no action. When we tried to extend our lease by just two weeks due to a moving delay, we were met with a flat no — despite being quiet, respectful tenants who dealt with constant problems. The same property manager that gave us headaches on move in, also gave us headaches when we were moving out. She came to our door to show the apartment at times not agreed to and was absolutely disrespectful of our privacy and time. Between the lack of accountability, maintenance failures, and security issues, we cannot recommend this complex to anyone. If you like to feel like a valued and respected tenant, stay away.

I absolutely love living here. The dog park in the back is wonderful. Never had an issue with excessive noise. Valerie the property manager is very sweet and helpful. Most of our neighbors are quite pleasant. We will absolutely be renewing our lease.

Somehow their post available apartments when there’s none , I did pay my 50$ fee application they took money and answer there’s no available apartments a the moment ? Totally wrong

I had a wonderful experience living here. From the beginning, Valerie the property manager was very helpful and accommodating. She kept me updated on availability and met with me several times to show me different apartments. When I moved in, the apartment was spotless. I rented a two bedroom apartment on the second floor. The apartments are very spacious. The neighbors are friendly but respect your privacy. Pets are allowed and there is even a special fenced off area for pets to play. The location provides easy access to several stores and restaurants and is close to the highway. I cannot say enough good things about my experience here and would recommend Sunset Rock to anyone looking for an apartment.

On may 8 I give Valeria my application fee, I waited till may 30 to even hear back from her or the company to tell me I was denied because of an eviction, I’ve never had ! They looked up online public records of someone who has a similar name but wasn’t me, They claimed they did an investigation on it but couldn’t provide me background check paperwork To prove they actually did a background check. This company is terrible. They will leave you in the worst position & wait till last min to tell you. When she had more than enough time to get back to me sooner & will not provide any documentation about you background. They will just take you money & will look for something to not approve you.

My fiancé and I moved in almost 2 months ago and we love it! It’s a great space for the 2 of us, and having the dog park on site was an added bonus. It’s always very quiet on the property and it’s great having so many things to do close by. The leasing manager always responds to emails quickly and is very nice!

This is my first year living with Sunset Rock Apartments- I live in a 2 bedroom updated unit and it is great! I love everything and the management is great. Extremely responsive and on top of all requests!

I have been at this property for almost 6 months, and to be honest, I have not one complaint! I have a remodeled, one bedroom unit and I love it! Quiet, clean, modern. Conveniently located around several restaurants, shopping centers, and grocery stores. Valerie, the property manager is wonderful to work with and such a help if you have any questions. I would definitely recommend.

Moved in a few months ago to be closer to work. The apartments are large and spacious. They are located near great restaurants and shopping. The neighborhood is friendly and quiet.

First of all...I wanted to live at a place which does not has a lot of noise...been living here since December 2019 and trust me when i say...never have i ever lived in a place so peaceful....apartments are spacious and hot water and heat 24/7.....bigy, Macdonald,wendy ,cinema and many stores are at 2 min drive it has an arcade and bowling right next to it...in short everything here is perfect.

Valerie has been above and beyond in creating an atmosphere comfortable to live in. The apartments and the property are ideal for maintaining an independent lifestyle and a space without worry.

Nice quiet environment, feels like home. Would recommend to someone looking.

I have lived here for 15+ years an have treated like a guest which is rewarding to me on all levels. The staff have been exceptional in responding to my needs. It has been a pleasure and pray it will continue.

I am a long standing tenant and find Sunset Rock suits my husband and I and our son perfectly. Management and Maintenance are very responsive, friendly and thorough. My apartment is large and very comfortable. Every amenity is within 5 min., great restaurants, shopping and recreational activities. The grounds are very tranquil and well kept. I am especially fond of the ability to enjoy the beautiful, quiet natural surroundings while still having quick access to highways and local events. And Plainville has many, as well as excellent schools.

I was looking for an apartment and I saw the Sunset Rock apartments. I fell in love! Everything is close by; the highway, restaurants, and stores. Valerie is so nice and Benni is very reliable. I love my apartment and just renewed my lease. Thank you

I moved in September 2020, and this place has a quiet neighborhood. My apartment gets a ton of natural sunlight. The rooms are very spacious and I don’t feel like I am suffocating. The hardwood floors make this apartment perfect! The area that it’s in is a great location due to the fact that there are many stores and the highways are close by.

Overall I think this a complete apartment. It’s very spacious compared to what’s on the market. They get a ton of natural lighting, nice hard wood floors, appliances are decent, neighborhood is quiet, great location to both high ways and everything you need. The property manager is also very sweet and helpful.

I have lived here with my wife for the past two years and have enjoyed the area. It is quiet and well kept. Management is approachable and responds in a timely manner. Washer/dryer in each building are the large front loader machines. Pet friendly with a fenced in pet park in the back. Large patio with furniture and grills for resident use. Overall comfortable location, kind people and affordable price.

Valerie has been great and management has been able to fix any issue I’ve had - which has been very minimal! Would highly recommend based on great renovations and exactly what you’d need for a one or two bedroom spot.

The apartment complex is beautiful and wonderfully maintained! The leasing agent is amazing and very attentive! It was my first time renting an apartment and she made the process so easy and painless! I definitely recommend living here!!!

The apartments are clean, well kept, well managed and management is extremely easy to contact. Valerie has been super helpful and a pleasure to work with. The bar for renting has been set very high. They do allow pets which was a huge plus. It is close to a local bakery, grocery store as well as restaurants and entertainment. There is lots of natural light in the unit and brand new floors. I have enjoyed my time renting here and recommend it to anyone looking to rent.

Amazing Place 2 Live! Myself and my daughter moved into a 2 bedroom over a month ago and all I can say is WE LOVE IT HERE! Valerie was and continues to be so helpful, caring and enthusiastic during my entire experience, starting with the application, my move in date and anything else I had a question or concern about. My apartment was freshly painted and everything is updated and functioning properly. I love the water pressure in the shower, and the heat and hot water being included is a major plus. I was given a brand new dishwasher in my unit which is working great! Sunset Rock Apartments are clean, safe and quiet!! Being surrounded by all the restaurants and stores like J. Timothy’s, Mazzicato’s Bakery, Marshall’s, Five Below and Kohl’s (just time name a few) has definitely put the cherry on top! Rent is easily paid online through a contactless system which I love. So if you’re looking for a new place to live, and you run across this review, BELIEVE me, YOU’LL LOVE IT HERE TOO!

Sunset Rock is a peaceful community. Not only is Valerie a great person but so are the neighbors! I felt right at home when I moved it! I love how modern the apartment is and also how easy access it is to get onto the highway! Highly recommend!!!

We love Sunset Rock! The units are spacious and have lots of natural light. We love the dog park out back and appreciate the quietness of this community. Sunset Rock is its own little neighborhood set back from the main road. Property manager Val is honest and kind, and maintenance has quickly addressed any small queries we brought up. Genuinely a great place to rent!

This is a great apartment complex that is conveniently located to stores, restaurants, parks, and highways. The modern apartment is completely renovated. The complex is very safe and friendly. The property manager has been very helpful with the application and lease process. The property manger checks in frequently to make sure everything is okay. Definitely recommend!

I was fortunate enough to land a one-bedroom here, and on such short notice. (I was selling my home and needed a new place to live.) Sunset Rock is under new management, and Valerie is doing an awesome job trying to run the place and work with tenants! They're doing the best they can to improve the apartments, both in their repainting and re-flooring the common areas, as well as the common outside areas. It's pet friendly, and they have a nice area for tenants to bring their dogs. I am glad they have both weight and breed restrictions. To alleviate the parking issues, they instituted a new parking scheme with assigned parking spots. (I never had that in previous places I've rented.) They're upfront with the fact that there is still more work to be done. But at least they're doing it. The use "ClickPay" for electronic payment of rent. This sure makes rent payment a lot easier. If you're able to find a rent here, I don't feel you'll be disappointed.

I moved into my place back in September. Living here has been great for me and my family. I needed a place that was reasonable and close to the highway. I’ve had a great experience here. Anytime I needed something or had a question, the staff was there to help.

We moved about 3 months ago. The staff and maintenance have been nothing but quick to fix and wonderful. The new management is great. Winter cleanup is speedy and consistent. It’s like being a part of a family. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy place.

Part of the complex went nearly half of the month without heat or hot water in October. Some of the apartments are half renovated, and have terrible fixes such as painting over damages, poor caulking, no ventilation in bathrooms and terrible paint finishes. The steps leading into some of the buildings have continued to be covered with cardboard and tape. It seems like they began to partially renovate, then ran out of funding. This is definitely not the experience I thought I would have here. Lastly, make sure you read the lease which is essentially says you are responsible for unreasonable amounts of efforts to benefit their property including not opening windows and getting charged for calling maintenance.
