Just 20 miles north of the Maryland border, Chambersburg is a picturesque antebellum town that’s full of history and incredible homes. There are relics of Chambersburg’s past all around town, including the Masonic Temple, the Old Jail, and Memorial Square. Long-standing buildings house an incredible variety of charming locally owned businesses, down-home restaurants, and more. There’s a vibrant arts scene at work in Chambersburg and the community remains active and engaged thanks to the borough’s relatively small size.
Historic retrofitted apartments line Main Street, while larger apartment communities and single-family home rentals can be found near Interstate 81 and along Conococheague Creek. Chambersburg is surrounded by beautiful forest and wildlife areas like Michaux State Forest to the east.
