Property Ratings at Stonewood Village
Unhelpful management from all over the place. Disappointing new staff. Finally leaving after getting bed bugs for the 3rd time in my building. Being ignored by staff, and trying to get help is impossible. And then police have been constantly present. Someone is getting arrested every day! They knocked my neighbors door down with an entire squad to execute a warrant! Crazy! Not family friendly anymore.

I've been living here at Stonewood Village since 1990. What I really like is the private entrance, it makes it feel more like a home instead of an apartment. The amenities of having a dishwater and your own washer and dryer are a plus. Since I've been here so long I have seen and worked with staff coming and going. I have always found them to be courteous and helpful. Repairs that need to be done are done in a timely manner. The grounds are well maintained with lawn maintenance done regularly and snow removal done timely.

My son and I have been living at Stonewood for about 4 and half years now. I’ve always been pleased with the location of the apartments, the quickness of the maintenance staff, the overall landscaping, and feeling safe at this complex. One thing to note however, if you are a new resident and are just moving in, double check and make sure all your appliances are working correctly. Some of mine were not but overall love these apartments!

This place is great, it has an inunit washer/dryer, is pet friendly, right next to a park, and gives the feel you aren't living directly in the city, although there are shops less than 10 mins away, bus roughts, and a pool on the grounds. The apartments are spacious and it stays pretty quiet. This is a nice neighborhood to live in.

Move here if you don't want your security deposit back - they find all kinds of ways NOT to return it. Means more bonuses for management. More mud than green grass - very little landscaping done. You need permission to plant flowers, you pay for their insurance on THEIR BUILDINGS - $25/month. Renters insurance - they want their names on your renters insurance. They do not de-ice or remove snow from sidewalks until 11:00 in the morning. You should not put anything on the walls as you will be assessed and charged when you move out for the nail holes. You should hire a cleaning agency to clean for the next renters. No upgrades done in years. Just BE AWARE. Take pictures and have walk throughs before handing over your keys.

We strive to provide exemplary customer service to all of our residents and prospective residents. We make every effort to make our apartments feel like home to all of our residents. I would like to clarify a few of the points you mentioned. We do require all residents to carry renters insurance. We have no interest in residents personal property; only for the building in the event an act of negligence causes damage to the building. Residents are welcome to use whoever they would like to use for insurance. We do not require anyone to use the company we have partnered with. Our snow removal team starts snow removal when possible by 6:00am and we work to remove all snow and ice as quickly as possible throughout the property. We have been here almost a year and they just changed all managers. I was not happy with the old managers so I was hopeful with the new batch. The one assistant manager I met with is not better. Nothing will get done from my complaint. We just signed a year lease and as soon as we can we will be looking for a new place who listens to tenants concerns.

Stonewood village is a very nice place to live. The people in the office are very friendly and always willing to answer any questions you have about anything! Maintence is very reliable! They will start working as soon as getting the request. The neighborhood/ neighbors are also lovely! The neighborhood sometimes host parties for every resident that lives there. We have a pool party coming up soon which is for the whole neighborhood and they are also providing foods and prizes/ games for the kids! Gotta Love this place!
Overall, I have not enjoyed living at Stonewood Village. My rent has gone up the past 3 years and if I renew it will go up again. Compared to other places, it is newer, but has not been updated since it was built. My apartment only has 3 windows and so it is very dark, it also molds easily. You are only allowed to have satellite dishes on your porch, so if you are the unlucky person who does not face south then you are out of luck. There is a pool, but it closes a lot for maintenance and breakdowns and you need to sign in when you use it on a public clipboard (which sounds like a good feature so not just anyone can use it, however, I don't really like to advertise when I'm not at home...) In the winter, the company that does the plowing rarely comes before you'd need to leave for work leaving you driving through the snow. They also have a policy that they claim is wonderful so no one steals your package (again, a nice feature, but because of their office hours, you're lucky if you find one day when you can actually make it there before they close.) Actually, you're lucky if they are actually there when they said they would be. Overall, I'm not impressed, the only reason I've stayed this long is because it's on the lower price range of most of the apartments in Madison. If I can find something comparable in price, I'm out of here!
