Property Ratings at Magnolia Heights
My roommate and I have lived here for 3 years but are seriously considering moving after all of the changes with the new Greystar management. They have bribed touring people with waived application fees for leaving high google reviews. We have liked living here, good location and excellent maintenance team. But we are now dealing with overflowing trash to the point hallways smell, unexplained fees, parking restrictions, and Fetch deliveries (no tenant wants this). Very disappointed in the turn this has taken.
The apartment amenities are not up to standards for the Charlotte area and this price point. Access to the mailroom for deliveries closes at 6pm so packages are often sent back or delayed. The pool/lounge area is not open year round so there is no option to enjoy Spring weather. The gym area is small with outdated equipment. Parking is a free for all and only accessible via a mobile app. I would not recommend this property with so many new options popping up in Charlotte on a regular basis.
Terrible property and management. Not clean. Constant trash all over. No parking in garages because they are full. They do not care about tenants and will lie to you. Constantly sneak in fees on your bill that you must fight tooth and nail to reverse. Unscrupulous.
Had a small gas leak immediately when moving in. I filed multiple requests to have it fixed and continued to air out the apartment. 3 weeks later and no maintenance team, I finally called the gas company for them to fix. The gas company, knowing the danger of gas leaks came within hours. The hot water pressure is very low (along with other problems) and so I called maintenance 4 weeks ago. Now I am stopping by the leasing office daily to have it corrected. They promise for them to come but no one yet. Definitely avoid this place. I will consider breaking out of my lease soon.
I am proud to call Sterling Magnolia my home. The community is close enough to Uptown Charlotte where it is easy to find things to do, but far enough away that it still feels like a tight knit community. The staff at Sterling Magnolia is always attentive and the buildings are always kept in tip-top shape. I highly recommend this community to anyone looking to rent in Charlotte.

You truly can't beat Sterling Magnolia's bang for your buck. I'm currently renting a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom unit, and have been pleasantly surprised by both the quality of the apartment, and the helpfulness of the staff. The open floor plans make great use of the square footage, and all units have 9 ft ceilings and lots of windows, which make everything feel really open and spacious. The complex's amenities are well kept and easy to access, the staff is always friendly and responds to issues promptly, and the security provided by gated parking garages and remote access doors provides nice peace of mind. If you're looking for somewhere to party, however, this may not be the place for you. The pool area is usually filled with young families with babies or young kids. The complex is located less than five minutes from grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping, and is only a ten minute drive to the heart of the city, making it a perfect location for just about any lifestyle. The only reason I'm not giving Sterling Magnolia five stars is the lack of green space. They are a pet friendly community, but lack the green space necessary to exercise your pups. Overall, Sterling Magnolia has been great, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a nice quiet space to come home to.
