Property Ratings at Spyglass
Everything was okay until it wasn't. From day one, I looked past the dingy elevator with dog urine, the poorly made kitchen cabinets, the dog poo in the middle of the hallway and the (literal) practicing DJ right below me- all things that I knew maintenance or leasing crew wasn't responsible for. Afterall, maintenance is a thankless job- when I moved in water was leaking from the roof in the kitchen which was eventually fixed, clogged /tubs skinks were fixed promptly, electrical kitchen outlets were fixed eventually.. What really sold me was the German Roach infestation. Apparently, people came out to "spray" a couple of times if I remember correctly- it didn't even touch the problem. They came by and put out Sticky Traps (which filled up in no time) but again, it didn't touch the problem. Things happen and I get I live in Florida but when I walk into my space at any given time of the day or night and see roaches scattering is crazy. I found them in my shower, I opened the fridge door and one ran out, I find them in the kitchen, on the walls, and one even walked on my FOREHEAD when I was laying in bed. I walk into my room scanning for any movement now. I live fearfully. What really sucks is that they haven't even checked in to see how the traps or spay went. They don't truly care. I feel bad for whoever signs the lease. Good Luck!
I wanted to write a review on my time spent at SpyGlass. This was the worst living experience I have ever had. The management was never helpful, the location was never clean nor secured, and the fines are ridiculous. I hope that someone would read this and strongly consider who you hire for roles where you directly help individuals find their home. SpyGlass was never a positive living environment. The management was rude and inconsiderate, often never working during their working hours. If any questions were to arise, these questions were either ignored or answered after repeatedly asking. SpyGlass is awful.

DISGUSTING I'm giving them the one star for the upkeep. I have lived here for about 2.5 years. Recently the maintenance of the ground and hallways are out of control. There is trash that has not been moved for months in the stairways and dog pee. The stations to take your dog out is TERRIBLE. There is dog poop EVERYWHERE some of which has been there for a long time, as it is changing colors. I cant wear nice shoes taking my dog out as I will step in it also it smells SO BAD pee and poop from grass. They make you pay for a DNA test for new residents with dogs so if they poop they will test it and charge. They DO NOT do that so its a waste of money. I don't even feel comfortable taking my dog out as I'm concerned he will get sick from the dog poop. The bags are also not filled very often. Overall the places they tour are clean. Main elevator and hallways. Places hidden like the freight elevator/ dog park and stairwells are terrible. When they renew my lease I hope they don't up the price as they have the in the past as its not getting any better but much worse.

Tiny and expensive apartment. Will fine you for EVERY little thing. Not enough parking in the right areas. Elevator is nice but the slowest you've ever seen. Asked for a 7 month and was given a 12 month lease. TWICE. Can hear upstairs neighbors walking around,talking, opening drawers more than I've experienced in any other apartments. Find somewhere else to live. This place sucks.
Don't get me wrong. The concept and design of this 'luxury' apartment complex is remarkable. But the thin Walls/Floors; the pro-sound doors that allow you to hear every door and foot step within 30 feet of it; the very low quality cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms; and the uneven paint on the walls and the floor (yes there's paint on the floor and in the bathtub) simply don't justify the wonderful design and higher price of this complex... Now the staff and management are some of the nicest, compassionate, and understanding people you will EVER meet. All in all the thought and development of this complex had, and may still have, a great potential with a even greater staff. But will remain on the lower end of the quality for price scale until the course of action is changed for the greater good of the consumer... Also just a note. I have been writing this review as I feel my neighbor above me stomp around and I can clearly hear his conversation along with the water flowing thru the pipes above me making it impossible for me to get more then a few hours of sleep. I rue the day I signed my lease and try to avoid coming home whenever possible.
I absolutely love this place! It is so modern and clean! I have moved all over the place with my job and absolutely fell in love with Spyglass when I saw it! This wasn't something I expected to see in Jacksonville but I found it! The staff is also really nice, they always say hello to me and are great about communicating events and even if I have a package!
If you enjoy hearing your neighbor flush the toilet, come live here. If you enjoy hearing constant hard stomping from neighbors walking, come live here. This place is the worst place I’ve ever lived in, and I’ve lived in some shady apartments! Don’t be fooled by the impressive building or its large pool. This place is a dump disguised as a resort.
Built in 2015, also the year I moved into my apartment. My first impression of the staff and buildings were that everything is stylish and extravagant. The staff, while from all over the United States, are sincere and helpful. Mary is easy to talk and joke around with on a daily basis. Erin is probably the most knowledgeable about the property, and the inner workings of spyglass. Now, as for the apartment, everything is brand new at the moment, today is August 17, 2015. In every apartment there will be either a walk in shower or a tub. The two bedroom apartments have one walk in and one tub. I am not sure about the three bedrooms at the moment. My room has less space but is connected to my shower and closet, which is quite nice for changing and privacy purposes. Also, the closet is much bigger than the other bedroom in the art deco. Apartments come with wood style floors in the living room, kitchen, and bathrooms. The bedrooms have carpet as the flooring. The apartment is also equipped with, a microwave, stove/oven, and a refrigerator, all GE and quality products. All amenities provided by the property, such as, pool, weight room, and entertainment areas are well worth enjoying. Hope this was helpful, if you're coming to Jacksonville, FL I would certainly recommend these apartments.
The staff made looking for a quickly needed home very relaxing and fun. The property is beautiful, clean, modern and relaxing. The staff is very professional, courteous and accommodating to the residents. We had a special need for our family and they were very helpful and cooperative. The apartment is quiet and very roomy. The lay out is spacious and gives us privacy. We went from a 3 bedroom to a 2 bedroom with great ease and were all much happier with the dynamics of the layout. Even our cats became much happier! Any maintenance issues were taken care of immediately, the same day or next day. They cleaned up and didn't leave us with a thing to do as most companies do when they work in your home. Amenities are incredible! They include walk in pool, bikes, mingle rooms, fitness center, shuffle board, golf simulator, video games, garbage pick up, outdoor tvs at pool, pool grill, covered pool patio What's not to love? We are VERY happy here!!! They have done nothing but be kind and pleasant to us. Not only is the property beautiful but the staff is so kind. People really make where you live and we're very thankful for them. The apartment is close to everything we need...the grocery store, bank, shopping, veterinarian, restaurants and highway. We're loving it @ Spyglass!:)
hello I'm noureddine talbi tenant at spyglass apartment, I have a three bedrooms unit over looking the street with its panoramic huge windows, my fiancée and I really love this place , I think is the best thing Jacksonville has to offer yet so modern and up to date, reminds so much with san Diego style and also euro Scandinavian look. the pool and barbeque set up is breath taking, and I recommend this place to every that looking for modernity and style that goes along with high security and safety to move to spyglass and thank you sincerely noureddine
From the leasing office door to the lifting of the last box off the moving truck, my experience at Spyglass Apartments has been one to remember!!! I have lived in my new home for just at a month now and the "honeymoon phase" has yet to wear off---and I am not sure that it ever will. It was love at first sight for me and my daughter. The community amenities include a Ballet Barre (which tickled my daughter pink- literally), Yoga and TRX Studio, Bronzing Room, Golf Simulator, Arcade Games, Endless Summer Beach Entry Pool which takes me on vacation every time I sun and more!!! Interior amenities in the apartment include recycled glass countertops, faux wood floors, stainless steel appliances, my FAVORITE color gray accents throughout, screened oversized patio, architectural touches throughout that captivate me from sunrise to sunset, ceilings so tall I often forget I live in an apartment community, private garage, gorgeous master closet, and a bungalow floor plan I could not have dreamed of if I tried!! ...and as if that is not enough to knock your socks off, the marketing of this community match the sleek and contemporary design so perfectly that as a Global Marketing Graduate, I have to acknowledge brilliance when it deserves credit due. With Kaleidoscope, Jewel, Crystal, and Mosaic as just a handful of the floor plan variety, these names alone are a flawless reflection of the brilliant minds that created this place I proudly call home. Very new & convient from moving from a large house to a 1 bedroom---beautiful landscaping & areas to walk your dog which the building is pet friendly! Elevator which is a blessin & am enjoying my frist time renting!
This complex has it all and it is stunningly beautiful!!! I am so thrilled to live here.
Located in a great location, close to UNF and all the great shopping areas. The apartment complex is also brand new, so more than likely when you move in you will be the first person to live in your new apartment. Since it is a new complex they spared no expense on making the apartments look modern. The kitchen has plenty of storage space and all the appliances are stainless steel. The apartment also has hardwood floors in the main areas and is carpeted in the bedrooms. The complex itself is very beautiful, with a huge lounging pool. The gym they provide is probably the best I have ever seen offered by an apartment complex, they also have a huge yoga, TRX, and sun tanning room(eventually). The staff is extremely friendly and always greets me and my pets by our names. If you are looking for a place that is safe, friendly, new, and growing in popularity Spyglass will not disappoint.
Spyglass in Jacksonville has a pool like a Las Vegas resort. Enjoy bikinis and sunshine in your off hours. Exceptionally friendly staff, modern (built in 2015) fixtures and furnishings, high speed internet, and all in one of the nicest areas of Jacksonville (Baymeadows), located just 10 minutes from beaches and shopping. Also has a well equipped gym with Smith machine and dumbbells. The most enjoyable apartment complex I have ever lived in.
