The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Skyler Ridge Apartments
I've been a long term resident and this place has gone really downhill. It was great when we first moved in years ago, the prices were reasonable, maintenance was attentive and nice, the grounds were upkept nicely etc. My main reason for this review and why I'll be moving out is the rent increases have gotten insane. This year the rent increased by 14%, more than DOUBLE it's ever been increased and I've lived here for nearly a decade. The apartments down the street raised the rent 30 dollars a month this year, here it's been raised 5 times as much. They used to even have discounts for those who resigned their lease early but not anymore as it's pretty clear they don't care about their long term residents. On move in, the maintenance guys were great, but these days they rotate out so often you'll never recognize any of them. If something is broken they'll come out to fix it multiple times and the issue is still never solved. I haven't been able to use my dishwasher for a few years now and it's been "fixed" multiple times. When there was a major water leak coming from the washing machine wall over the holidays after I had come home from work, the main maintenance guy was extremely rude, I was told the leak was somehow my fault (later found out it was coming from an apartment above) and when I requested a shop vac for the standing water in my kitchen I was sarcastically met with "What, you don't have towels?". The list of incidents like this goes on. There's no communication from management when your water will be shut off for maintenance, there's been multiple instances of coming home from work and having either no hot water or no running water at all. My apartment is falling apart from the inside out with all the wear and tear (which I'm sure I'll be nickel and dimed for) and they've never made a single improvement despite raising the rent every year. If I'm honest I really didn't want to move, but I've been priced out. I absolutely loved this place when I first moved in, but maybe management or ownership of the complex has changed to value money over quality. I wrote this review because I know how hard it is looking for a new home, I know because now I'm doing it too, and I want potential renters of this complex to be well informed before making that decision. I would highly advise to look elsewhere.
This place is in a good and quiet location but the management is terrible. They communication skills is terrible, they use temp works so no one ever knows what to do or what’s going on. They are not helpful whatsoever when it comes to maintenance issues. Literally almost ended up homeless because they failed to break down payments for a new lease on an apartment.
I scheduled an apartment tour, but when I showed up for my tour, the door to the leasing office was locked. I could see that there was at least one person inside, but when I tried calling and knocking on the door, no one answered. I understand that things can happen at the last minute, but someone should have reached out to me and told me that I needed to reschedule. To make matters worst, I had previously stopped by for a walk-in tour and was told that I needed to schedule an appointment, even though there were 4 people in leasing office not appearing to be doing anything. And then when I came back for my scheduled tour, the door’s locked. I can understand being turned away as a walk-in, but they should have been prepared for my scheduled appointment. This gives me the impression that the staff is unprofessional and unorganized. I’m glad that I’m realizing this before I signed my lease.
Tremendo equipo gracias Skyler Ridge.
they are very rude when you call them for service and charges unnecessary charges for the damages and repairs they estimate something else and charges very high… i strongly recommend dont opt for these apartments
The staff has lot of attitude issues. The manager is even worse. They charged me more than a month's rent from me for no reason when i moved out. They did the same with some of my other neighbors too. They try to squeeze as money at the end.
My son has been living here for almost a year. They still haven't fixed his stove, so he can only bake, not any stove top cooking. His water is turned off for repairs in his building more times than you can imagine. The office staff and repair staff is horrible. The grounds are poorly kept and some tenants throw trash over their patio walls. The development has been completely non-responsible to fixing his stove. A basic cooking need. Don't rent here. Worst development ever. He keeps having to come to my place to shower a couple of times per month. They don't care about the tenants, just cash.
Water leaks, bugs issues leasing office people worst people on the planet. They never respond if any issues inside the apartment. I had an issue with water leak and water leaked all over the room and they took more then 3 days to take action
Maintenance team doesn’t know how to behave and will never solve any problem. They keep on making excuses . Will never recommend anyone to stay here. Apartment has bugs, children park is not maintained well , Water stuck at different places within internal roads. Things get stolen as its not a gated society.
The worst management ever. The 3 people we talked to in the leasing office gave 3 different informations and later denied saying any of that. When we tried to reason with them, they freaking yelled at us and used terms like this is not a hotel, there’s nothing to discuss without letting us talk. It was so insulting and humiliating. Never experienced such unprofessionalism anywhere else. Save your time, energy, money and sanity; don’t come to Skyler Ridge!
this is a great, quiet place to live. not too expensive with nice people in the office.
One of the worst apartments you'd ever live in for the price you're going to pay in Overland Park area! The apartments are old and almost every building has roach and bugs problem! The management is horrible and irresponsible as they don't respond to the complaints/issues without follow-ups, don't receive your mail packages, post false notice at your doorstep etc.! Every year during the winters there will always be few weeks when the residents won't get hot-water supply!!! The only good thing (for which I rate it 2-stars) about the apartments is that all of the essential stores/services (Walmart, Price Chopper, Indian Store, Kohls, BestBuy, auto repair/service, Sprint Workplace, restaurants/bars) are at a walking distance. Below is an overall summary: * Old, shaking walls * Rattling Windows and Doors * Patched up ceilings * Old wiring and appliances, sucking your electricity * Doors that get Jammed * Namesake GYM * No indoor or outdoor courts what so ever. * Does not accept packages and couriers. * Lacks professionalism, management is a joke. * Given all this - Rent is no lesser compared with other apartments.
Moved in a month ago to skyler ridge. There is no hot water available since then and and even after raising a complaint they wouldn't do anything about it.
I was recently asked by my son to cosign a lease for an apartment he wanted at Skyler Ridge. I would gladly have signed if the lease wasn't borderline illegal. Instead of cosigning as a potential financial backer, they had me specified as an owner/resident, implying that I would reside there with my son. Since I had no intention of ever living there and therefore would have been forced to lie if I signed, I complained to the Assistant Manager. I sent her a copy of a "normal" lease requiring only the cosigner signature at the end of the document. She refused to revise the document and so my son and I pulled out. It was clear what management of this place is doing, placing all of the potential liability on the cosigner as well as the resident(s) so that Skyler Ridge has near zero liability! Cost of the lease was $135 for 3 applications plus a forfeited $250 room hold deposit which was not properly refunded. I Was out $43 for Fax/Notary/Mailing the application to Skyler. Total cost for nothing, $428. My son found a bigger apartment for less money with a normal lease with no cosigner required!
Apartment is located in a good location. Walking distance to major stores. Secure and Average apartment building. Good for people looking for affordable apartments
the apartments are at the great locations nearby malls, foods, and other thing u can do around in Overland Parks.
I've lived at Skyler Ridge for six years, in three different apartments, so I know about this complex. It is currently being renovated -- but don't let that fool you. This is an older complex and the parts of the building which are brick do not insulate well. That being said, sure, the place is getting a new facelift but the underlying aspects and poor management should not be overlooked. I currently live in a one bedroom that has a door off the bedroom to the balcony. This is the worst floorplan of the bunch as the single-pane of glass in the door does virtually nothing to insulate the bedroom. The management style leaves little to be desired. They nickel and dime you on key deposits to the workout rooms and various other things. The first two units I lived in, granted, where much better, but with their own problems such as not enough parking and water leaks. The renovation isn't complete and there are nails and glass everywhere. The primary selling points of Skyler Ridge are location and price, although better apartments can be had for just a little more.
Apartments are good, office staff are friendly and maintenance and service was also nice
Its really hard to write review for anything when you dont have any good thing to write about, because such review looks biased or influanced. I am one of the stupid person staying in this apartment for last 2 years, know all about this apartment first hand and have candid reviews here. Pros 1) Apartment is located good location, stores and highways are proximity 2) Nothing else can be put in this section, sorry. cons 1) Rents are too high, its most expensive place to stay in ZIP 66210. 2) Apartment are poorly managed and poorly maintained. wear and tears can be seen all across. 3) Building has poor insulation, which causes a huje heat loss and typical 800 sq feet apartment can bill 200$ or more in monthly electric bill in winters and summer are also not good news. 4) Buliding is around 35 years old, so all stuff, including fridge, dish washer , other appliance are old , in efficient and face frequent issues. 5) These guys are very smart in increasing your apartment rent each year, typically they inflate 6- 8% each year. 6) Leasing staff looks concerned, but looks helpless in resolving real issues you have with apartment. There could be a lot more.. But i think this should be sufficient to help you taking your decision.
The Manager and Assistant Manager don't care what you have to say. They don't care if you are injured on the property they hide behind that the property is over 350 units and it takes their maintence staff a long time to get to the snow removal. They rely on the tenants to either remove their own or walk through it. Their is ice in the parking lots even when they use de-ice substance. If you have a complaint about another tenant they tell you to call the police and file a report they do not get involved. STAY AWAY!!!!
