Sioux Falls, South Dakota's largest city, showcases the natural beauty of the Big Sioux River and its cascading waterfalls at Falls Park. The downtown area features the city's namesake falls alongside local art galleries, shops, and restaurants. Housing choices include downtown apartments and established areas like McKennan Park, with its historic architecture and mature trees. The rental market remains steady, with one-bedroom apartments averaging $950 monthly, showing a 1.3% decrease from the previous year. The area near Augustana University and the southeastern district surrounding The Empire Mall offer additional rental opportunities.
Major employers Sanford Health and Avera Health contribute to the city's stable economy. Residents enjoy an extensive 29-mile recreational trail system, while the Washington Pavilion houses performing arts venues and an interactive science center.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Sierra Vista Apartments
I lived in this apartment building for 3 years, at the beginning the office staff were extremely helpful and kind & very responsive. At some point all of the staff that was there when I moved in had all disappeared and then it seemed like new people every few weeks, the responsiveness went away entirely they did not care about the tenets in this building. Also constantly raising rent $80-100 every new lease contract you sign. Not worth the money!! Also there was a massively bad cockroach problem that just seemed to keep coming back. STAY AWAY FOR YOUR OWN GOOD.
DO NOT RENT HERE - THERE ARE OTHER PLACES IN SIOUX FALLS! The apartment is very drafty - inside the apartment you can here the air brakes on a bus from the street just like you are standing right next to the bus, the garbage truck when it stops across the street and people talking in the parking lot - and you have to pay of your electricity which is wasted since it is drafty. The building is older and they say this happened due to the settling of the building which I can understand part of that but this is excessive. There is smoking going on inside the building which is supposed to be a smoke-free building. They say it is in the ventilation system from before so the management does NOTHING but when you smell it night after night that is hard to believe. This includes both legal and illegal smoking.

Apartment has good space but building is old and they don't keep up with maintenance. Has underground parking but every time it rains garage gets standing water that comes into apartment building that they never do anything about so the whole building ends up stinking. AC unit for whole building seems to cause problems to and we have to have air duct above our shower that gets super dusty and so bathroom is always dirty. Allows dogs but neighbors dogs are always barking and they never do anything about it. Also nice building but area apartments are not very nice and neighbor kids are always over throwing rocks or pulling out dog bags. Can hear upstairs neighbors very easily at all hours of the night. Fitness center is very small just treadmill, bike and cable machine. Lived here for several years and rent has gone up about $50 each year and laundry has doubled in price since we started. Had enough its time to move
Oxbow Park Apartments is a great place to live for people just starting out, or small families. It is a few blocks away from Seratoma Park and the bike trails, and is also in close proximity to the mall. It is close to busy streets, but the apartments are located a few blocks away on off streets, making it really quiet. The only complaint I would have is that the appliances are a little old. Other than that, it has been a great place to call home.
My son just moved in here after I went to look at the apartment for him. Great location! Huge bedroom, bathroom. Walk-in closets. Open living/dining/kitchen. Light and bright inside. Nice appliances, exercise room, laundry facilities. Underground parking. And they allow pets! Perfect!
I lived on the first floor and the neighbors above me sounded like they were stomping very heavily every single time they walked. I told the manager about it and they did nothing. So for a year I had to listen to the people upstairs be very obnoxious not only with their footing but with other odd noises throughout every single day. This had me in tears at one point because I could not sleep with all the hoopla going on up there.
