The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Shorewood Apartments
We were there for 18 months. Everyone was friendly. No problems with anything serious and when we did call for maintenance they were there the next day! Common areas were always kept clean. Thanks for being so friendly and treating fairly with the move out!! We appreciate all the hard work you guys do everyday! Definitely a great place to live!! We would recommend it to anyone!
I have lived here for quite a while. The location is pretty good, with stores and University access pretty close. Bus stop is also very accessible. The amount of space is decent, but the building is a bit aged, maintenance is needed for quite a few things. Package delivery is convenient and sometimes properly secured. If you value your bike, having a locked bike room is available is a plus. Noise is a big issue though, since this building is close to University Ave, trains and ambulances honking at night can be annoying to sleep though. Constant construction on the street and the next door building is also very loud (and it can be a rude waking call in the morning - even on weekends). While most old reviews mention a great landlord, this property has been bought out by another company and have been increasing rent by over $200 per year. Laundry is also $4 per load. Despite what this website says, amenities are NOT included in the rent. Lease renewals have also been late (Mar) compared to all other local properties (Dec/Jan) which make it harder for you if you are considering moving or releasing. Overall, the property is ok. However, when considering price, I cannot say that it is good value. If this were a new building or situated by the capitol, only then could these prices be justified.

I lived at Cleanplace for three years, and I had an outstanding experience while living there. The apartments and building itself truly set the standard for cleanliness. Duke and his staff are professionals who maintain a high level of quality for all of the building's residents. Duke was very receptive to any concern I ever had, and I never had an issue that wasn't dealt with swiftly and effectively. I thought living at Cleanplace was a great value for me, and it was money well spent! The location in the Shorewood Hills neighborhood of Madison can't be beat. I highly recommend staying at Cleanplace!
I have lived here for three years and I don't think I could have found a better apartment building in Madison! It is such a convenient location, close to the hospital, Hilldale Shopping Center, and endless restaurants and coffee shops. On top of that, Duke is a great landlord! He is always on top of things and constantly updating the building to make sure nothing breaks.
I have lived here for the past four years while attending the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. As the name implies, this building is very clean and well maintained. It is also incredibly safe, with a whole arsenal of video cameras covering the parking lot and lobby area--not that in the Shorewood Neighborhood this kind of security is even warranted. The landlord, Duke, and his wife are fantastic and very responsive to requests. If anything broke in my apartment, which has happened only 3 times in the past 4 years (so very rare), it was always fixed within 24 hours. In addition, they do many extra things like signing for packages and delivering them into your apartment. The neighborhood is great, with a Whole Foods less than a block away and the Quarry Park right behind the building's parking lot. The UW Hospital is less than a 15 minute walk or 7 minute bike ride away. The apartments are spacious, have a lot of natural light, and I never hear my neighbors. I highly recommend living here.
I've lived in half a dozen different apartments in Madison over the past 10 years, and the Shorewood House/Cleanplace apartments were the best place I've lived by a mile. In fact, the only reason I left was because I moved to a different state. This complex really has it all: very reasonable prices, fully furnished apartments, parking available, great internet/cable TV included, beautiful views, plentiful in-complex laundry machines, indoor bike storage, and a great location (loved being so close to Whole Foods and Bagels Forever). What really puts Shorewood House over the top is Duke. Always available, fixes any problems that arise immediately, gives tenants birthday gifts (!?)... you can really tell he cares about his tenants and goes out of his way to make them happy. Best landlord I've ever had the pleasure of renting from, I created this account just so I could leave this review. As long as Duke is running the show, sign that lease as soon as possible, you won't regret it.
I have lived here for 3 years now and this place is the best apartment building I have EVER lived at, and it's all because of the care of the owner of the building, Duke, puts into the place. I have lived in multiple college towns at multiple apartments and none come close to the way this place is ran. The rent is the same or cheaper than other places close by and the building is the cleanest apartment building you will ever find because they clean it literally every day! Also, Duke and his team are so prompt to fix any problem you may have and he always uses the best care and attention to any problem. Also he goes above and beyond, when we have people staying with us he will bring a mattress up for them to sleep on, he cleans snow off the cars in the winter, and if they do any maintenance needs they make sure your apartment is left with a deep clean. So many great reasons to live here, can't recommend it more!
I am not in the habit of writing reviews but Duke and his staff do a wonderful job of maintaining the building and the apartments. Cleanplace is not just a brand. The hallways and common areas are cleaned regularly; Duke even schedules regular cleaning of the apartments at a mutually convenient time. When you add in the affordability, amenities, location, quiet and security, along with Duke's attention to tenants needs, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better place to live in Madison. I recommend Shorewood House ( Cleanplace) without hesitation to anyone looking for high-quality, reasonably priced apartment living in Madison.
I've rented in Madison for 8 years and my 4 years at Shorewood Heights have been the best. Duke runs a very tight ship keeping Cleanplace true to its name: I cannot believe the effort him and his staff put into making the hallways and common areas spotless. The AC and heating is also excellent; my apartment is toasty in the winter and cool in the summer. The high speed internet included with rent is ridiculously fast and always reliable, and the included cable is also equally respectable. If you want a landlord that will show up on a moment's notice to fix any little thing, a parking lot that is safe and secure with cameras everywhere, and just a really nice clean/quiet building to live in, look no further than Duke's Shorewood Heights. The location is also great with close proximity to target, bagels, CHIPOTLE, and a half decent hospital. I loved living there and was very fortunate to have gotten a spot. Five stars.
Highly recommend for people who look for a fair priced apartment in an excellent location. I am a long time renter in this apartment building. And very pleased with it. The landlord is super nice, provide excellent services. The location cannot be better.
I've lived here for nearly five years now and cannot say enough good things about my experience living here. When I moved to Madison in 2012, I had looked at several apartment buildings and it was evident that this one was very different than the others I had viewed. The apartments here are modern, fully furnished, clean and constantly being updated. The appliances are always newer and in good shape. Unlike several other buildings I visited, the apartments have large windows overlooking Quarry Park and nearby Shorewood Hills. Duke, the landlord, is always available on-site and is quick to respond to any issues tenants have. The building is cleaned on a daily basis and well maintained. The building is very quiet which is perfect for graduate students who need to study a lot or those with busy schedules. The building has an ample amount of parking which is provided at a reasonable cost. The lot is well maintained during the winter months and the employees even brush off tenant's car windows when it snows. The rent includes most of the utilities and is a very fair price for the quality of the apartments. I've lived in two separate apartments over the past 5 years within this building and both times they were updated and very clean when I moved into them. Unfortunately, I'm relocating to another city soon but if I had continued to live in Madison I'd definitely have been more than happy to continue living here. Duke is a very honest landlord who is always looking for ways to keep his tenants happy. I'd give this place more than 5 stars if I could.
