Batavia is a charming village in southwestern Ohio, on the banks of the Little Miami River. Just 25 miles east of Downtown Cincinnati, the small-town atmosphere and surrounding countryside provide a degree of tranquility that attracts many commuters seeking an alternative to the often-hectic pace of city life.
Living in Batavia puts you just minutes away from the vast East Fork State Park, a beautiful nature preserve offering great opportunities for hiking, biking, camping, and boating. Nearby, the Starlite Drive-In Theatre provides a wonderfully retro movie-going experience that draws folks from all around the area.

Property Ratings at Shayler Glen
Ups the rent 100$ every new lease. Uses pictures from when it had a nice deck and playground. Now both are safety hazards. The cost is way out of wack. I finally moved out cuz I had enough.
I’ve had a bad experience here, there isn’t like any guest parking, which is a little bit annoying and there’s nothing to do. My friend stepped on a nail when using the community patio so it’s not very safe or built well. Also, the balconies are not kid safe. They actually do not meet the legal requirement for spacing in between the bars on the patio. The outside is almost falling apart. They are raising the rent a couple hundred dollars and they haven’t done a single thing to improve any of this. Not happy, planning on moving out soon.
I lived here for 2 years. My only complaints are that I wish there was a playground set for kids. I would not let my son outside to play with the rest because the only option was to run in the parking lot. I also wish the buildings had better up keep. I lived in 1097 and the building is falling apart , the stairs look as if they will break at any moment. The front of the building is tearing apart. I also wish there was more guest parking. Other than that, it is a quiet place . The kids are respectful. Maintenance fixed any issues pretty quickly. Management is great. Storage area outside of apartment is awesome. I just wish there was more to offer. Maybe revamp the sitting area and add a play set for the kids. I decided to move because for the price, I was able to find a place with a pool, play area, and a work out area.
We lived at Shayler Glen for 5 years. Erica and her team have always been nice and accommodating. Maintenance always responded to issues and would stay in communication with us. They also always called us before entering and were kind and respectful of our belongings. The property was clean and well taken care of and we felt safe. We had a great view of the farm across Shayler from our 3rd floor unit. The gas fireplace was awesome and the balcony was large. The only complaints we had were raccoons and cats around the dumpsters so we avoid those after dark. the dumpster is usually overflowing by the end of the week, It would be awesome if they put in some recycling bins to help with that. Also would be nice if there was some guest parking on the other side of the property instead of it mostly being in the back. Nothing ever made us not want to stay here! We really loved living here and only moved because we wanted a backyard. Thanks for everything helio and Shayler glen team!
I'm not sure how the advertised space 1018 square feet was calculated but my measurements of total interior square feet including width of walls is 815 square feet. The noise coming from the upstairs floor is disturbing at first but you learn to get used to it. During the day when upstairs tenants are gone it is very quiet here. Exterior walls of my building have a few large chunks of paint peeling off and unfinished areas between exterior siding planks. Ceilings are 7 feet high in bathrooms, hallway and part of one bedroom. Overall a decent place to live in a convenient location.
Spacious, quiet, beautiful apartment. The washer & dryer that came with the unit is awesome as well as the high ceilings and fireplace.
This apartment has pretty much everything the average person would look for in a living space with a reasonable price tag. It has a large living room, typical bedrooms with large walk-in closets for an apartment, in-unit laundry, dishwasher, a mid-size balcony, and a bonus storage room. The carpet had a few minor stains upon move-in and there is definitely some wear-and-tear on the cabinets/drawers, but everything is in relatively good shape. Maintenance is fairly quick to respond to requests, but I have had trouble getting problems resolved properly the first time. I will say that the walls are a little thin and you can hear muffled conversations or creaking in the floor from the unit above, but that is not uncommon for non-luxury apartments. The neighborhood is very quiet here, but it is located in a wooded area just couple of miles from the Eastgate Mall and Jungle Jim's just a street away from State Route 32. It is also just a couple of miles from the I-275 loop. It is a nice blend of the secluded and the close to civilization feel. Although this apartment does not have any amenities, such as a workout facility or pool, there is a YMCA nearby if someone were to want to buy a membership. Overall, Shayler Glen Apartments is a nice place to live. It does not really stand out when compared to other apartments I have lived in, but it was one of the best I could find on the East side, especially for the price.
