Rochester House Apartments

From the management to the tenants this is a great place to live! It’s the most affordable and safest complex in the area nothing but good things to say about my residency here I don’t plan on moving anytime soon!!

When I have had problems they send the maintenance people by the same day. My refrigerator failed and was replaced fast. Reported it late Sunday by Tuesday afternoon they had the new one in.

It's a good place to rent, no issues whatsoever. The location is also convenient, it's close to downtown Royal Oak, Clawson, Troy and Ferndale. if you want affordability in Royal Oak, should check out Rochester House.

When deciding on which place to pick, I went with this complex. The main reason I did instead of others, was that they had a pool. I just found out recently, that the pool was closed for the rest of the year because of covid. So the response earlier to another that they would open when they could was misleading. According to Whitmer, pools could have been open last year, and now with CDC guidance there is no restrictions for capacity outside. I think they should give residents a credit for the missing amenity of the pool. The manager has been helpful and explained that the pool being closed for the rest of 2021 was the owner's idea. I asked if we could get a notification for all residents letting them know that there would be no pool, he said he emailed them and they said let them know only if they ask. I think this is wrong, also I think that prospective renters during this summer should be notified as well. I was looking at other apartments and what made me choose this one was the pool. If you are too cheap to open the pool, at least let your renters know.

I have lived here for almost two years. The negative reviews about the thin walls are hilarious- if you don’t want to hear the people around you, don’t live in an apartment! I have really enjoyed my time here. It’s extremely affordable for the area, it’s convenient to downtown Royal Oak, and the surrounding neighborhoods are beautiful. The staff and property manager care about their residents, and I’ve never had an issue with getting something fixed. Lastly, many of the residents here have been here for quite some time and have truly made a home. Many have taken ownership of the flower beds just outside their apartments. Most have flowers in planters or hanging outside. And all take pride in keeping their space clean and presentable, so that our courtyard is a pleasant escape from the outside world. Everyone is kind and I’ve never dealt with shady apartment things like getting packages stolen as I have at other residences! I have enjoyed my time here, and I’m grateful to have found a place that felt so welcoming, comfortable, and safe.

Very very noisy. At first it looks like a nice apartment but once you’re in it’s very thin walls and flooring. You can hear everything above you from walking, stomping, loud bangs, closets opening, tv on, talking etc. Not fair for the price you pay.

As a current resident who lives here, I can honestly say the walls are paper thin. I can hear when the people above me open or close their closets/ cabinets I can hear when they watch movies, I can hear when they cough, every single little thing. Don’t live here. Whether you’re a young adult, or have a family this isn’t a good place and maintenance is the worst.

Love Rochester House this far! Quiet area with a relaxing pool that is well maintained every day! Made some friends with the neighbors. Seems to have some long term residents who love it here as well. Close to downtown as well! And a park across the street ???????? So far I've had no issues. But if I did I know the Managment team would be on it! thanks guys! -Lindsey F

We moved in a few months ago, and love it already!! Manager is super helpful and neighbors are friendly. Nice to come home to a hello and a nice pool to relax in. Cozy, clean and all around peaceful. You should make Rochester House your next home. -Shannon
