Myrtle Beach, stretching along South Carolina's Grand Strand, combines beachfront living with year-round recreation. The city features 60 miles of Atlantic coastline and a boardwalk recognized by National Geographic as one of America's best. Housing options include oceanfront apartments and inland communities, with one-bedroom apartments averaging $1,392, reflecting a 0.5% decrease from the previous year.
The area offers diverse recreational opportunities, including 86 championship golf courses and Myrtle Beach State Park's natural trails. Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing serve as central entertainment districts, featuring the iconic Myrtle Beach SkyWheel. Originally called "New Town" in the early 1900s, the city was later renamed Myrtle Beach for the native wax myrtle shrubs that flourished in the area.
Residents enjoy access to numerous restaurants serving coastal cuisine and international dishes.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at River Landing
Was promised that the dock would be fixed and never was. We told the playground was going to be replaced and never was. Property has a bad roach and black mold problem. Very poorly maintained property. It looks nice at move in. Management team running the property has very poor people skills. So glad we left after one year.

You will be infested with roaches and bed bugs. They will move with you too. Trash and dog poop are everywhere. The manager is just an unpleasant person who really does not care about the property.

I like the river, the friendly staff, and quiet community here.

Thank you so much for your comments! We really appreciate the feedback!! River Landing Apartments
Please don't rent here, you will regret it. Poor management RE Carroll and everything is old. They keep increasing the rent every year. Water is separated and it's divided all together. I live alone and my bill varies from $30-35 a month. Yet, some apartments have 3-4 people and they pay the same. No animal enforcement, so many people have un-registered animals and dog poop all over the property. Management doesn't enforce the un-registered animals and manure. Don't do it!
May as well live in a landfill. There is so much trash everywhere, piled at the dumpster, spread across the grounds, in the breezeways. This place is a mess. Spiderwebs hold the buildings together. The lawns are covered in dog waste. Any given day someone will spread garbage around the parking lots. The staff are friendly, but ineffective. Don't expect any issues to be resolved with any kind of urgency. Your rent will go up yearly with a decrease in services. The apartments are alright and the location is good. But most of the people that live here don't seem to care about their environment and are content walking thru mounds of cigarette butts. Save your time and money.

Thank you for your review, and we look forward to improving your experience with us.
Let me start. We lived here for 2 years and it was complete trash. Infested with bugs. The carpet was destroyed upon moving in, infested with roaches (even tho we pay 15$ a month for them to supposedly spray). We moved out and they charged us because we left a bottle of tequila and a curtain rod. Called me a liar when they said they did there (pre inspection) move out. Which they never did. I stayed home the entire day they were suppose to show. Forget trying to get maintenance to get anything done. We got 7 no exaggeration. 7 nails in our tires from this apartment complex from when the roofs were all being prepared and had to replace all my tires. Called and complained even had the nails and found more around the parking lot. They did nothing about it. If you value your money and time don't waste your money on this hunk of junk
I moved to River Landing about a month ago and I love it! Moving is generally stressful but the staff made the process easy. The staff is SUPER friendly and very helpful. You can always find someone working outside to make sure that the community looks the best it can. It really shows how much they care and it looks better everyday! I would certainly recommend River Landing Apartments to anyone! You won't be disappointed!!
Looks like a tornado went through months ago and no one cleaned up. Dead trees, broken branches, trash surrounding the buildings. Buildings, stairwells and mailboxes are not kept clean at all. Plenty of snakes. Ponds are disgusting-look more like sewage treatment facilities, just ask the dead ducks and fish. If you are looking for a law suit, look no further than the dock on the intercoastal-serious safety hazard. Walls are so thin you can actually hear the people above you peeing. Everything inside is below builder-grade at best. You can get A LOT more for your money somewhere else
I have lived in River Landing Apartments for almost 2 years. Let me start off by saying location wise, it is one of the best locations here in Myrtle Beach. Why? Well you can basically get anywhere you want to in Myrtle without touching any of the two major and busiest highways. Highway 501 and Highway 17 are the two busiest highways, and being able to take a variety of back roads from our location has been such a joy. We live in a 3 bedroom apartment that is very, very spacious. If we had to make one or two complaints, it would be that the two regular bedrooms do not have ceiling fans or ceiling lights. The other complaint would be the maintenance team here is a tad bit slow, but on the other hand there is only two of them here. The front office staff is top notch as well. They answer calls and emails quickly, even the manager Daniel here will always go out of his way to help you out. I would recommend living here for anyone looking for a 3 bedroom apartment, and to keep in mind the biggest thing you pay for is the wonderful location.
I decided to live at River Landing without ever having seen it in person since I was relocating from another state, so I was a little bit nervous. I found there was nothing to be nervous about! The apartment looks great and there is plenty of space! The walk-in closets are amazing! The location is fantastic being that it is right on the waterway, but it's also close to all of Myrtle Beach as well as Conway. The amenities are great, and it's wonderful to spend the day by the pool on the many sunny days. It's a quiet community. The staff are very friendly and very helpful! They go above and beyond. I've only had minor maintenance issues, and they've been solved right away!
All I really have to say about this place is I hope that I can renew my lease at the reasonable rates. I wouldn't trade this place I have for anything. Likes and suggestions: All of the staff are friendly, courteous and will make themselves available anytime you need anything they help with any info you may need outside the complex as well. I love the location because it's quit and has the feel of being it's own little community, but anything you need is within walking distance if you wanted but by vehicle your no more than 5 min. from anything you need or want. Wal-Mart, convenient stores and golf stores, golf outlets and tons of golf courses surround the complex. I love it here and if I can renew my lease at the end of this one I have considered myself permanently re-located to here with my family. my son loves the pool, play ground and the room he has to ride his electric scooter as well as the state of the art elementary school he attends less than 5 min. away.
quiet safe and the whole staff are great its a super great place to live and feel safe
The property needs some work and remodeling. I do not think that the rates are fair given the condition of some areas. Likes and suggestions: I like that it is close to the highways for easy commutes.
I like the fact that it is quiet and my neighbors are friendly.
Safe, close to my workplace, more affordable than other properties in the area. Staff is friendly and problems are generally solved quickly. Community is home to a variety of residents: single people, college students, families, older people.
It is a very quiet community. Everyone seems very friendly. I would suggest a basketball court and lower rates.
It's convenience. Daniel Buckley is great to work with.
Surprisingly quiet for a large complex. I especially like that's it's not on a main road but yet close to needed shopping.
It is located close to the waterway and businesses.
The people in this complex are generally very considerate of each other and not overly noisy.
Needs to rehire their office staff Likes and suggestions: I liked having Rebecca in the office because she was understanding and helped when she could. After she left the lack of compassion in the office made me want to move out as soon as possible!
My likes and dislikes about this community are: The complex is a dump. There are fireworks all the time and they come at 1 or 2 p.m. in the morning. My neighbors don't work so they hang outside at all hours of the night. Once my trunk was used as a dinner table for people to eat. What a terrible place to live.
My likes and dislikes about this community are: I like the location of the property. Accesable to much of all your needs.
My likes and dislikes about this community are: The staff is very nice and friendly. They are quick to fix things.
