Founded in 1779, there’s a lot to appreciate about New Iberia. For one it’s a convenient distance outside of Shreveport, allowing residents to have that space to unwind away from an urban atmosphere.
New Iberia has also preserved much of its historic architecture, such as the Shadows-on-the-Teche antebellum home. This home was the site of a former sugar plantation, and visitors can now tour the 1834 residence and gardens. Other New Iberia attractions include the Bayou Teche Museum, Tabasco plant tours, and the gardens of Avery Island. Sportier adventurists may find boating or swimming at Cypremort Point more their speed.

Property Ratings at Reserve at Squirrel Run
has not designated parking so you might end up having to park far away from your apartment, which is not fun during bad weather or you have groceries. Also some parts of the parking area will result in your vehicle full of bird droppings just by parking overnight. It is a gated community, but pretty much anyone that wants can get in and there has been theft from vehicles. Property is not as child friendly as you would think there is a little play area but thats it. Pool area has become more kids unfriendly.
They increase rent $50 every renewal, despite how long you’ve lived here. The “car wash” area is a joke, the hose and vacuum don’t work. The playground is good for 2-4 year olds. There isn’t enough parking—you’re better off renting a house for what they charge here.
Rent is high apartment small! Closets small with no air ventilation in them. Parking areas is so tight and always over crowded with cars. There are no refundable deposits that make so actual sense. You can make payments online for a 25. Dollar debit or credit card usage fee(tf).

The apartments i've rented at this place were decent, the employees are friendly. However, the first unit i rented was a 2 bedroom with 2 bath, one on each bedroom. So if you had a guest, he or she would have to go into a bedroom to use the bathroom. Got my car broken into once, but there was nothing there for them to take anyways. People don't pick up after their pets, so there is dog poop everywhere. The amount of pages on the contact is almost as much as buying a house. The first unit I rented for 6 months, and ended up paying for 8 months because i was not aware they required a 2 month notice prier to leave. The 2nd unit I only needed for 2 months, but had to rent for 3 because that is the least amount they would rented for. I however specified that i only needed it for that amount of time. I did not get a copy of my contract and when i left, I received a letter stating that i did not give a 2 month notice because they did not have it in writing, and have to again, pay for 2 months of rent that am not using. Moral of the story, the system is design to benefit them in every way. So read the full contract, ask for a copy of it, and make sure you put your leaving notice in writing, have them sign it, and get a copy for yourself.
Recently moved out, but resided there for 2 years. Apartments were, by far, the nicest in New Iberia. I had no major issues while living there. The office and maintenance staff are friendly. Pricing was fair. Pool and grill area was well-maintained. The only real negative thing to comment on is that some pet owners wouldn't pick up after their pets.
We visited in person and by phone several times. Each time we were given different information regarding availability and pricing, even though the visits were all within a 3 day window. Pricing on website was much lower than quoted and we were told they would not honor website pricing. Each sales person gave conflicting information and seemed clueless as to what others had told us.
