This city is home to Wheaton College, and colleges and universities surround the city -- College of DuPage, Midwestern University, Benedictine University, and North Central College are all minutes away. For commuters, Wheaton is just 26 miles west of Downtown Chicago, and the Metra provides a car-free commuting solution.
Wheaton is a terrific suburban city with several landmarks. The Grand Theater, build in 1925, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Town Square Shopping Center provides an outdoor venue filled with shops and restaurants, and the Cosley Zoo is a great (and free for Wheaton Park District residents) place to spend time, especially with kids. Dating back to 1891, the DuPage County Historical Museum provides a gallery, a library room, and an auditorium.

It’s a Nice community but the leasing office is annoying to deal with. Sergio is the worst. He took forever and didn’t give the correct quotes and took me calling 3 times and taking to management to complain about him not doing his job properly.

Fabulous personalities in the leasing office and maintenance crew. The building and grounds are perfect. However, the Luxer One and mailroom present continuing challenges with limited access, untimely access codes, packages placed all over rather than in designated areas, and opened packages. Also, the stairs from the loading dock coukd likely use a ramp - I see tenants, and myself, struggle with personal items that a ramp would make far easier. Additionally, the men's sauna smells, users leave their sweat on the bench without using a towel, the benches planks are loose, and the sauna takes a long time to heat up. Before closing, my washer and dryer, after four maintenance visits, do not work and smell like an unclean locker room or barracks. In closing, with these items addressed, Renew stands to be an even better residence community with happier tenants.

The amenities are really good but the units can never get upgrades and in regard to the staff Jason is not that nice guy he came to my apartment for black stuff on my bathroom roof and he blamed it on me.

Not bad! Maintenance is fairly quick and on site. there's a handful of questionable decisions in the apartment (painted over shower tiles, multiple layers of paint on hinges, missing tilt wands, ect) not deal breakers at all. Good location, bike storage, balconies so there's some outside space. Overall not bad

I love Wheaton Center! The community is fantastic. It’s near the train station, bars, restaurants, bike path, grocery stores. You can walk to everything. Parking is convenient and easy. The staff is amazing. They are always on site and help with anything that comes up. There are community events every month! The pool and gym are amazing. Outdoor bbq grills and cabanas. Great neighbors. If anything goes wrong with the apartment the maintenance staff fixes it immediately. I highly recommend living here if you have the opportunity.

Welcoming was nice but place was dirty for the most part. There is a huge hole that needs to be covered in the kitchen. There are bugs throughout and needs to be exterminated. Paint on towel racks. Balcony floor filthy. Grounds are nice and amenities are for what you pay here. Maintenance team seems great!

Everything gets cleaned and fixed in a timely manner, the lobby and outdoor areas are regularly cleaned, and everyone is so nice! Maintenance is communicative and efficient, the systems in place like with rent are easy to understand and follow. I love all the flexibility and options for rent and rooms.

Great place to live. Great area to live in. Buildings are very close to downtown Wheaton where there are many shops and restaurants to walk to.

ReNew Wheaton Center has a great location and decent pricing, but living here comes at a cost. The building is noisy—construction was never disclosed above our unit, and the old, unsealed doors let sound travel easily. You’ll hear slamming doors, elevator dings, and neighbors chatting/moving constantly, even in corner units furthest from the elevator. There’s no peace or quiet day-or-night. The leasing staff has unfortunately just been unkind and standoffish. Interactions feel cold, like they’re doing the bare minimum. Once you’re moved in, you’re on your own. The hallways smell like the old building and rarely feel clean. Parking is a mess—lots are always full, and even with a pass, you risk being towed from the commuter garage and paying $250 to retrieve your car. The pool is always crowded with kids, and with only a few chairs, it’s not usable or relaxing. The resident community feels cold and disconnected. It’s affordable and walkable but it comes with major trade-offs.

The main concern revolves around the frustration of the surface lots being what is free (closer to the buildings and living areas) yet the further garage must be paid for. The air conditioning vs heat lack of control is a bit rough too because our apartment was 80 degrees for a good amount of time before air could be turned on

moving in was a hassle. elevator was reserved for me on the day of the move in but elevator wasn't working properly but because the manager of the apartment failed to teach us properly how to use it until the end of the night of the move in a very nice maintenance person helped us and explained how it works. it is my first week and so far so good. no complaints as of now. lets see how the rest of the year goes, considering the previous reviews.

Apartment has great amenities, is handicap accessible. Close to everything, very nice area. Close to public transportation, downtown Wheaton. 10 min from I-355 and I-88. Staff are very nice, responsive. Grounds are well kept. Maintenance free living.

Jason the maintenance supervisor was awesome. I had a short interaction and he went way above and beyond. Hence why this review has 4 stars. My leasing agent did an extremely poor job and I still have many many questions that need answered. I’ve just been way too busy and suffering as a result. One of the other agents actually stepped in and helped out after I was approved. She seemed much better. I wish I interacted with her from the start. How embarrassing for my agent. Seriously, I’m upset because there are a lot of things I should know that I don’t. This is a result of the poor communication and lack of attention my agent had paid to me during this process.

So far it’s been great. All the issues I had when moving in were addressed promptly and professionally. It feels safe and they offer a lot of amenities. The parking situation can be a little confusing at times simply due to the fact that there is not much free parking for the building. But the city of Wheaton is beautiful and the train is literally a 3 minute walk away, perfect for commuting downtown.
