Tucked in the northwest corner of Cook County, suburbs such as Hoffman Estates, Palatine, South Barrington and Schaumburg vary widely in personality and composition. Schaumburg, the largest in population, is home to Ikea and Woodfield Mall, the largest mall in the Chicago area. Palatine, developed on a wooded marshland, comes in at a close second in size. Hoffman Estates, while smaller, is the most densely populated of the four suburbs and is home to AT&T's Midwest headquarters and Sears Holding Corporation. South Barrington, tiny in comparison, and arguably the most affluent in the area, is home to the famous mega church, Willow Creek Community Church.
Heavy traffic can double or triple commute times, so area locals know to check the highway reports before leaving home. Normal drive time into the city from this area is about 30 minutes via the Interstate 90 tollway. An easy 20 minute drive will take residents to O'Hare International Airport.

We really like our new apartment. We worked with Zuleika who took a lot of care and moved with urgency to help us move here from another state. We love the complex and the gym and the amenities offered here as well as the surrounding area. Moving in was a pleasant process and we will be referring others to renew poplar creek since we have had such a positive experience.

Quality of units is disappointing, the doors to closets are poorly installed, the roof is paper thin and the building surroundings aren’t the cleanest even with staff constantly around the premises

Just moved in, so far everything is pretty good. No keyless entry as far as I’m aware and having a hard time setting up the wifi. I don’t like that you enter the apartment and you’re in the kitchen. There is not much kitchen space or a pantry. Otherwise, the carpets are new, everything looks clean and nice!
Smooth move in, everything worded in the apartment. The floors are nice, the carpet is also clean. The neighborhood is clean and it has a lot of dog trash cans which is nice since they have a dog park. All in all I like the place.

The place is quiet, we have enough space to park, guest passes are a good tool, it is not necessary to go to the office to request a pass every time someone comes to visit, for that we have six authorized guest stickers, each month

My apartment itself is nice, though the walls are paper thin and I hear far too much of my neighbors’ activities. The new management has done a lot of work, but we have been without a way to let people into our building for over a month, yet the building door is still not secure, the squirrel damage on my balcony was spray painted over instead of addressed and they are absolutely terrible about responding to communication. It took 5 full days to get a response to a complaint of no water in my unit. I asked a few months ago about a bicycle rack since there is no storage space available and was told there is one rack for the entire community, which is ridiculous. There are no recycling initiatives, it’s disappointing how little is done to be eco-conscious.

The only thing that’s good is the layout and hopefully the amenities (will find out summer time). This would’ve been perfect if it wasn’t for the many imperfections that could’ve easily been fixed beforehand. For the price of rent, there shouldn’t be many imperfections.

Fantastic place to live in. Aside from all the pet waste being left and not picked up, the amenities are great. With all the upgrades being done, wish cameras were installed outside to catch which residents don’t pick up their pet waste. Sending a mass email does NOT deter waste being left behind.

They are very nice, updated and comfortable apartments. The surroundings are also very nice as is the location. They need more maintenance staff to keep the areas clean and when it snows to keep them as safe as possible. It takes a while to respond to maintenance requests but it is due to the same reason, there are still many apartments for the amount of staff they have.

It’s been pretty good. I would like to have more parking lot lights by me but I’ve been told it’s not feasible. I do think the communication is pretty good.
I’ve really enjoyed living in this community. It is affordable and quiet. The only reason for four stars is because some neighbors aren’t great at following rules. Such as cleaning up after their pets, unfortunately.

I love living here. I've been living in the community since 2020 and I have found difficult to find another community with a great location and amenities. For the time being, I'll keep calling Renew Poplar Creek my home.

Staff has been helpful with keeping contact for moving in. The move in process has been seamless so far. The apartment was clean when we moved in and had no complaints. Neighbors appear noisy but the staff has sent out emails addressing noise complaints which is reassuring.

Used to have the club house open for printing and being able to use the computers. New ownership came and now it has to be reserved. My apartment is still waiting on door sweepers. The paint color is depressing…why gray? Make a warm and inviting color to the community. And the new parking spaces are not spaced well. Additionally, they got rid of the volleyball court and expanded the dog park….how about updating the kid playgrounds before updating a park for dogs. We shall see if all these things improve, but I’m not too confident right now.

Parking is becoming an issue. Specifically lack of it for residents. Some residents have multiple vehicles and I don't believe parking is enforced like it has previously been.

I have no issue with my apartment until after staying in an apartment for 5 years and I requested for a change to new apartment of the same but I was told I have to applied as a new tenant with new rent since I don’t know if that’s the standard I picked no offense in that. I requested for painting and change of carpet which is a standard for those who has lived 5 years in same apartment and I was approved of change in carpet and partial wall painting. For over 8 months and as I write this, nothing has been done on it. It is so painful after sending different mails with evidence of approval, no response to the mail I sent. This is awful. Check my payment records, I paid all my fees at when due. And you can’t fulfill your promises as well. Am so sure that only or few apartments have not been upgraded as we still use old gadgets.

I love the amenities and the park like setting of the property. It's a great place to walk with your pets and children. Maintenance have always been respectful and helpful. Prices have definitely gone up and there have been extra fees with the new management. We are trying to have grace during the transition, but it's been difficult at times.

So far so good. Parking situation is terrible but overall everything else is okay. Building management has been very helpful and communicative.

We’ve been here long enough to know that while the management name has changed the staff and their incompetence has not! They can’t get the utilities correct so they’re expecting us to pay for their mistakes. They also love to close maintenance requests even though they haven’t come up with the correct solution(s)

Overall living here is pretty good. I like the layout of the apartments but I do think several upgrades need to be made as some things are old and falling apart. The staff are pretty responsive and nice and there's a good amount of effort to try and get to know the residents.

I've had no complaints so far, I love it here, and plan to stay for the foreseeable future. I have lived at the property for over 4 years under the old management company, and see the new company cares about the resident experience.

So far the community has been quiet and maintenance is great, we had a few issues with our unit and maintenance was quick to respond. I also had a package delivered when I was not home and someone in my building placed it by my door.

The apartment is good for the price in the area. Its not cheap to live here given the utility cost and rent but its harder to find something cheaper with a good layout. The amazon locker is a nice amenity. The few issues we have seen are: I wish it was cleaner when the apt was given to us. The maintenance requests aren't always fixed properly. The geese poop is annoying. If management cut down the mini apple trees the geese would prob stop coming to the area. The office never picks up the phone or returns calls. However they are available in the office. They need to provide an ample amount of time when communicating work at the complex. They were redoing the parking lot and they told us the week of that we have to move cars and we were already out of town. They mentioned they would tow at owners expense. Luckily we weren’t affected but wanted to mention. Overall we like living here, the community is nice, rent is fair.

Decent apartment community the people in the community are very respectful. This community is very safe and the location is conveniently located near our children school, shopping, and to where I work.

The community for the most part is nice, parking can be a little difficult at times. There are a lot of updates being done this year, so hopefully the improvements will make the community better.

Nice neighbors for the most part. Can get loud though and lots of dogs barking non-stop. Management is extremely slow at responding to complaints and maintenance requests

I love my apartment and have no issues other than the fact squirrels are able to get into the attic and they run through my ceilings and walls and have made their way into my AC vents.. multiple work requests have been put it the get the building examined and points of entry patched
