Sioux Falls, South Dakota's largest city, showcases the natural beauty of the Big Sioux River and its cascading waterfalls at Falls Park. The downtown area features the city's namesake falls alongside local art galleries, shops, and restaurants. Housing choices include downtown apartments and established areas like McKennan Park, with its historic architecture and mature trees. The rental market remains steady, with one-bedroom apartments averaging $950 monthly, showing a 1.3% decrease from the previous year. The area near Augustana University and the southeastern district surrounding The Empire Mall offer additional rental opportunities.
Major employers Sanford Health and Avera Health contribute to the city's stable economy. Residents enjoy an extensive 29-mile recreational trail system, while the Washington Pavilion houses performing arts venues and an interactive science center.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Platinum Valley Apartments
It started out really great living here with my boyfriend but then we got new neighbors that partied until 5 in the morning, and their dog would bark all day and night. At one point we thought someone died because we didn't hear anyone for three days. We complained several times as did other neighbors but nothing was done.

Would not recommend. The apartments themselves are nice, but very poorly managed. Can never get a hold of the office or get a call back. Lived here for a year and the pool/hot tub was always closed and under some sort of maintenance. Very small fitness center; most equipment is either unusable or dangerous to use.
Apartments are pretty spacious which is nice. Other than that about everything that could be bad is pretty terrible. Management is utterly a nightmare to reach. I have called, emailed, and physically walked down to the office more times than I can count; only to reach a voicemail (and never get a call back), or find that their door is closed during supposed office hours. I will give credit to the maintenance department as they are usually quick and helpful. The amenities that are considered included should be carefully considered when deciding to rent here. The pool is never open, which was a huge downside. From the outside looking in, the fitness center looks like it could have potential, but don't be fooled.
I've lived at Platinum Valley for about one and a half years now and have really enjoyed it... Beautiful, well-cared for grounds and buildings, a peaceful & quiet community and very nice apartments. (I've lived in both 1 and 2 BR units) The extras are what makes Platinum Valley better: washer & dryer in my apartment, underground heated parking, storage rooms and health club with pool. My building welcomes pets and my dog is happy here. The staff are friendly and ready to help without delay. We're only a couple of blocks from a freeway on ramp with a Southwest location that is just minutes to anywhere in Sioux Falls.
The apartments are very nice and are big. If you call maintenance they are there either same day or next day depending on how late it is. The landlords are very frendly. It's a beautiful, quiet place to live. They have huge bathrooms and most have washer and dryer. Also able to keep your whole apartment cool with central air. Don't forget that the pool and hot tub!
Not well maintained. Occupants need to clean up after their pets.
She told us to come back the next day as she was to busy to help us. She also said maybe she would be able to show us a apartment the next day. Of course we didn't come back we rented from another agent who wanted to show us their apartments.
Close to interstate and new shopping areas. Nice and safe.
