Property Ratings at Pirate Island Apartments
Living at Pirate Island Apartments over the last two years has been an amazing experience! The location is unbeatable—being on a small island gives it a peaceful, vacation-like vibe, and the updated boardwalk is such a nice touch. I love that I can drop my paddleboard in and enjoy the water whenever I want. The landscaping is always well-maintained, making the entire community look beautiful year-round. The wildlife with the water and the quiet neighborhood brings a crane every year, I call him Old Blue. Maintenance is top-notch; they’re prompt, professional, and always take care of any requests quickly. The staff is friendly and helpful, making sure residents feel at home. If you’re looking for a unique, relaxing place to live with great amenities and a well-kept environment, Pirate Island Apartments is the perfect spot. Highly recommend!
Worst management staff EVER!! They fix nothing and NEVER respond to anything valid.
This place is tidy, well managed and couldn’t be in a better location. My unit was updated last year and it’s it’s amazing. It’s a gem in the middle of Madison, I feel lucky to have found it! Many long term residents and I always feel safe. I’ve never had more responsive maintenance. You can tell it’s family owned, they care about you and the property.
I checked this place out based on other reviews. I asked management about smoking. They said they havnt allowed smoking in three years but there were a few older residents grandfathered in. I ended up seeing two one bedrooms and a studio. All of them except one were updated with new flooring and fresh paint and remodeled bathrooms. I was extremely impressed by the leasing agents knowledge and kindness. I ended up signing a lease and moving in. I’ve been here four months and I just can’t say enough good things! I have never heard a single neighbor and every time I’ve called for maintenance, this older guy who lives on the island comes over and fixes whatever I need usually that day. Everyone is so nice, I just love it here. I almost don’t even want to write this review because I don’t want more people to find out about my secret spot!!
Can't really beat the location, on the water, dead-end island, Monona neighborhood, all really great. The price is excellent for the area as well, heat included in low rent price. Old fashioned management is OK, outdoor space is in general disrepair. The not so great things include: smoking is allowed indoors so the whole place kinda smells like cigarettes, the units haven't been updated in while (maybe never), fairly thin walls and ceilings (if you know what I mean). Great place to have your grill and kayak on your porch, even your boat tied to the boardwalk for extra. I can put up with the faint to medium scent of cigarette smoke for the low price and location.
