The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Parkway Arms Apartment
I lived in Parkway Arms for almost 3 years. When I first moved in, it was awesome. The rent was reasonable, location was perfect, Stephanie (previous property manager) was great. The apartments still have a very cute accent wall and a nice, though small, kitchen. The cabinets are all updated and the appliances are new. There are also big windows in each room and the location was pretty safe. However, by the time I moved out, the building was poorly taken care of (with no fault of the maintenance guys- they are super helpful/only reason I didn’t complain half the time, but stretched thin as KRI has many properties). The front door was broken for half a year and I was told the company has to vote on fixing external issues (not sure). People will smoke directly outside the doors and the hallways will smell like the cigarettes. Just like anywhere, you will have some neighbors that yell, and yes, you can hear them with doors shut (and dogs and children). The parking lot is far too small and the towing company advertised confirmed KRI does not have an active contract with them (aka the parking stickers and signs are not doing anything). Finally, as other reviews mentioned, Theresa is not great. Unfortunately, I know multiple tenants that had issues with her - everything from forgetting leases to a truely horrible attitude. Just wanted everyone to be aware of the pros/cons, as I saw KRI made a fancy new website for the apartments.
I moved in last August 2016 and everything started out completely fine. The first issue didn't arise until the first of this year. We had multiple power outages randomly throughout the day. At one point, half of our apartment's power did not turn back on. I called for three days and never got a call back. I found the emergency maintenance number where I, finally, had someone sent out to help us. A few days later, I received a text from Theresa saying she was out of the office because she was sick. Another issue we had, above our shower there was black mold starting to grow as well as a small crack that would get larger by the weeks. Three weeks later, we had not heard from anyone and the crack in our bathroom ceiling was starting to fill with water from the tenants above and drip into our bathroom. I called emergency maintenance and had someone come out to fix it. They fixed it within a few hours and said they would have to come back the next day to bleach out the black mold that's grown. We have not seen or heard from anyone in over a week to fix the black mold on our ceiling or the basketball size crack that has formed from the leak. The final issue that has been the final straw with this apartment complex happened this morning. I received a text message from Theresa at 8:00 am telling me our power will be out today because they're cutting down a tree. I thanked her for the update but asked if she could get back to me on what time this will be happening because my husband and I have an important conference late afternoon and still needed to go home to iron a few things. She said she has no idea. I politely asked her again if she could find this out for me because we only had a small window of time and we were counting on having electric at our apartment. At first, she told me she could not find out but followed with "I check for you". Around 2:00 PM I had not heard from Theresa so I asked again if she had heard from anyone about a time frame. She was very rude and said she already answered me and then replied with the date our lease ends. Disappointed is an understatement if I am asked about my feelings towards Parkway Arms. I am beyond frustrated at the customer service and hospitality and feel unsafe in my apartment. Lakewood is a beautiful town and I hope to whoever is reading this finds a better place to live than Parkway Arms.
I Love my kitchen and the neighborhood. The apartment building is not kept up.
I have lived in Parway Arms apartments for 17 months now, and I can't really complain. The good: parking in lot off street is free & almost always I can get a spot. I have only parked on the street a few times due to the lot being full. Common areas like hallways & laundry are kept clean & neat. Building is QUIET even being right on Detroit ave, no partying/ loud music ever. Apartment is updated with Ikea cabinets, new carpet, and laminate floors. Nice appliances, and good water pressure. NO BUGS PET FRIENDLY FREE HEAT SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD ( I am a single woman, and walk at night with my dogs) VERY affordable rent The bad: Apartments are on the smaller side, perfect for one person, but two people can be cramped. St.Eds marching band practices on lawn across the street in the fall, so it can be a bit annoying, but they don't go too late. ZERO kitchen counter space Overall, my experience has been great. Management/maitenance are pretty on the ball, close to shopping & highways, clean, quiet, safe, and cheap
