Property Ratings at Parklane Commons
building is falling apart. they spent a ton of money to update the office, but even before COVID no one was allowed in. when we moved in there were holes in our baseboards where crickets, ants and roaches would get through. everything needs replacing. when we moved in they pushed our move back because they had too much to fix, but they literally painted over dirty walls so there is another persons dust and hair in my wall. there was sawdust everywhere from new cabinet doors, but they only changed a few, the rest had so much water damage they wont even close fully. plumbing has rust and limestone caked on, we had to go through and scrape it off the sinks so it didnt get in our water. understaffed, and never here to help. only redeeming quality: close to everything.
i lived there until the fire last year. They had no availability so I was homeless and lived in a hotel for 6 weeks until I got a new place. They showed no remorse even
How this place has such good reviews is beyond me. It is absolutely horrid here and why anyone would want to leave her is, well, also beyond me. I wish we would have looked at the reviews before moving here last year. Now that we are out of that dump, we realized how fortunate we are not to have contracted a disease from that place. Not literally but my goodness it was bad. Maintenance sucks, management loses packages and mail, nothing gets repaired around the courtyards and the pool? Well, the pool and hot tub had been closed for weeks on end without any notice to residents. And even if it was to be opened, everyone there is loud, rude and unwelcoming. We are glad to have just moved out after living there for a year. And we are never going back. In fact, I don't know if we'd live there rent free...
Being current residents of this place, we can't wait to leave. It's disgusting. It's old. They pride themselves on "newly renovated" apartments but it's just worn down buildings. Fencing around the pull is all rusted out, grills don't work unless you throw a match into them to get it lit, doors are old and need to be slammed shut just to close and the grounds are always needing work. Sunrise management ran this place when we first moved in and we loved Aaron but then they brought these other people in and they completely half their jobs. Some of them are rude, one of them doesn't seem to understand the basic concept of customer service. Crap just sucks here. You get what you pay for... that's all I have to say about that.
We've lived in these apartments for a little over a year and a half and at the beginning it was ok management was great, friendly, and really helpful with almost anything! Aaron and Ellen were great managers! Now it's been over two months with the new manangement and everything sucks! I put in a work order the first week and no one came so after two weeks I had to remind and apparently there was never a work order. Almost everyone inside the office now is either rude or clueless! No common sense nor courtesy. Wish washy on what payment rules seem to be. At first everyone had three day grace period to pay rent, then it became only people that had the new ownership lease. Then you get charged $30 for a 5 day notice fee even if it's only the 2nd or 3rd day late. Twice in the last past two weeks the water has been shut off without a notice. Today being one of those days and I happen to be just walking into the shower and water stopped on me. When I called the office they said it was an emergency but still couldn't communicate with residents to let us know! I mean it's a Saturday morning who's not getting ready to go out and spend the day with family?! These apartments have a serious roach problem and no matter how many times the come to spray, they just running back and forth from apartments! With the old manangement this place was workable, now I hate being here and I can't even communicate with front office without some attitude. Save yourself the time and money and find something better! This place doesn't seem to be getting any better. It's way overpriced for what is considered "renovated". Cabinets were falling, under the sinks were sunken in, counters are coated with the cheapest material that if you leave any sort of paper on it the print will get stuck to the counter, laminate floor is peeling! Yeah like I said save yourself the money! There's 2 bedroom 2 bath houses for the price we pay here!
New management in 2016 -- everything going down the toilet and getting run-down! No longer allowing pets, things breaking and not getting fixed, big rent increases, losing amenities, such as monthly resident activities, fitness room sucks, many police seen all over, many residents seem to be leaving due to unsatisfactory conditions ...Overall, starting to feel unsafe, and definitely not worth what is being charged for rent. Small rooms. Very rude office staff, who now only avaliable for current residents for a few short hours between 9am-5:15pm.

Plumbing sucks! Maintenance sucks they don't know what they are doing, they fix things temporarily. The business, there isn't one now that new management is here they want you to email it to them to print anything and they are not friendly at all
Property Manager at Parklane Commons, Responded To This Review
While we appreciate your feedback, we're concerned about the about the issues you've been experiencing. Through fire and flood changing apartment misleading lease agreement dates. I have been living at parktower for 2 years going on 3 I'm always looking for a better opportunity and place to live but haven't really found one better than park tower. The maintenance is very quick and thorough now that a new company has bought the apartment complex. IT was not always that way the rent is a little bit more expensive than the property is worth but I can see some major improvements and upgrades being made. This is real life nothing is perfect but the staff working on a apartment complex that I believe dates back to the 70's and turning old un updated complex into newer safe nicerer community has impressed me. some perks to living here are too pools nice pool furniture and are a smoke friendly ( tobacco/ medical marijuana with prescription) complex you won't find the man in your business here just don't litter or make trouble they are pet friendly too :).
My husband and I have lived in Park Towers apt. for just one year, we have had no issues at all the tenants are really nice, and also the staff is awesome. The manager Judy and asst. manager Stephanie are great. When I would have a little issue with anything they are very understanding. They painted the buildings look real nice and received new appliances which look great. And also newly remolded. The grounds are kept up very clean. Would recommend this complex.
CONS; Air conditioner fan too loud, but closing bed room door helps. Need two speed fan. Bed room ceiling fan would be OK, but not necessary. Bath room curtain rod is too high. I needed to put three curtain rings looped together to hang curtain 4 inches lower. Get curtains with magnets at the bottom of the hem. Need shelf or two above cloths drier and washing machine. Need a garage type building or two so people can schedule to do miner work on their car. PROS; All New Appliances. Lots of lots of cabinets everywhere are great. Very quiet outside, not much activity like noisy type sports. Air conditioner drowns out all noise anyway. There is lots of room for parking. The grounds around the residents are well kept. Sidewalks are in excellent shape. Buildings look in excellent shape on the outside. Love the light switches. They are very large and no one hurts their fingers searching for the flipper. Good solid concrete stairs that have a easy low step ratio to walk up stairs with a heavy load to carry. More than enough room for two vehicles to pass each other in the parking lot lanes. Walls and ceiling and doors painted with expertise. Office closes at 6:00 pm. If still open at 6:30pm would work better, but at least takes in mail and packages so at least your large mail does not get stolen. (4) Special large metal mail boxes outside with a key put in your small mail box to open one of the large mail boxes would be nice.. Once the large box is opened, mail is taken out and you put the key in the large box and when the large box is closed, the box can not be opened again, until qualified person flips a lever and now possibly a different key can be used out of several different keys made for each box.
