As one of the major economic centers of Alabama and one of the signature cities of the Southeast, Birmingham has done an impressive job of adapting to the new demands of the 21st century. The city that once built a reputation as the “Pittsburgh of the South” thanks to a robust steel manufacturing industry is now a hip community attracting entrepreneurs, artists, and innovative personalities. Birmingham remains one of the most active business hubs in the region, with headquarters for everything from banks to biotech firms operating in the city.
The dining, nightlife, and entertainment scenes have all grown rapidly in recent years, and just about everyone in town has an opinion about where to find the best brewery. Gorgeously preserved historic buildings and a pervasive attitude of down-home hospitality have kept Birmingham’s famous southern charm intact as well, creating a unique environment where the best elements of the traditional and the modern complement each other.

Property Ratings at Park On Valley
The manager kept my deposit has not paid me I move from another state and gave me a place in terrible conditions I did not move in and she still has not pay me since January
I moved here a little over a year ago and we have switched management about 4 times. The current is by far, the worst. The phone is never picked up, fees added that cannot be explained, the maintenance look like people I wouldn’t trust in my home if their hands were tied behind their back & issues are not handled properly, complex manager always gone and still charges late fees, and property is a mess. Fortunately for me, my home and the location genuinely does make up for that. Although the painting is terrible && units not thoroughly cleaned before move-in, it’s very spacious and I don’t feel unsafe in my home. Neighbors are very kind and I feel like everything I personally need and do is no more than 20 minutes away. I would recommend moving here, especially if it’s your first time renting, but it’s definitely not for anyone looking for luxury.
I set up an appointment to view the townhouse, when I get there the lady tells me that they aren’t doing any viewings. I won’t be able to see it until I get my keys because of COVID. I asked her the same question in a different way… I said, you want me to purchase a lease on a townhome I can’t see? She said it’s company policy due to COVID. I laughed and walked out the door. It was a complete waste of my time to drive there.
I lived here for a few months. I can’t say enough how horrible it is. From the location, to the units themselves, and especially management. In the few months I lived here our complex switched management companies THREE times. Maintenance never fixed any request I submitted (ex. Had no door handle to my bathroom door upon move in AND move out.) this complex has potential; however it is not being used correctly. I do not recommend living here.
Luckily my daughter did not move in. The day of move in the carpet was nasty and hadn't been cleaned. She was told that they were going to come Monday to remove the carpet after she moved in. The apartment had not been cleaned at all. The so-called manger claims she had the apartment cleaned 3x. Clearly the cleaning staff needs to be FIRED. It was a thick black spider webb hanging in the kitchen. The cabinets and walls were nasty. The bathroom was horrible mold under the sink with old QTips left under the sink. The bedroom ceiling was about to collapse (one more good rain is all it takes) they just painted over it and she claims she didn't see anything wrong with it. Not to mention the mold around the part that is about to collapse. I wouldn't allow a stray dog to live there. I wish I could upload pictures so people can see how horrible the apartment was.
These apartments are horrible. DO NOT LIVE HERE. My air hasn’t worked since August and its March they will not give me aby information about whats going on with it. Maintenance sucks. The office people are horrible. Pest are everywhere no matter how much you clean or they spray. Laundry Room is horrible. They dont keep the property clean at all. Im counting down the days my lease is up. I wouldn’t recommend these apartments to my worse enemy.
