Amarillo welcomes residents with its distinctive Texas character and sweeping views of the Texas Panhandle. Home to over 200,000 residents, the city offers rental options from downtown lofts to suburban apartments with plenty of space. The San Jacinto neighborhood draws renters with its historic architecture and local shops. Rental costs remain moderate, with average rents around $841, and one-bedroom apartments averaging $830 monthly, representing a 1.5% year-over-year increase.
The Route 66 Historic District and Amarillo Cultural District anchor the city's arts scene, featuring performances at the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts and exhibitions at the Amarillo Museum of Art. Just outside the city, Palo Duro Canyon State Park - the second-largest canyon system in the United States - offers miles of hiking and biking trails. The medical district, centered around the Harrington Regional Medical Center, serves the community's healthcare needs.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

If I could give zero stars I would. I've lived here my whole life and it's never been this bad before. The new owners come from Colorado so they assume everyone makes the same amount of money, and decided to boost the rent up at least $300 in just a couple of months. The apartments here are not in good condition. There are holes in the floor, chipped wood and paint, not to mention bugs. If you pay for electricity sometimes it will just shut off at random, if you complain about it good luck, because the owners could care less. If something needs fixed and you call the office about it, it will never get properly fixed. We've had broken lights and rotting wood under the floor for I don't know how long now. Just the people working in the office are a massive pain, not to mention some of them are sexist towards men as well. My dad needed help changing the date on our notice that we'd be moving, because he has bad arthritis in his hands and they were hurting just trying to write. The one lady was helping him until another said "No, he needs to do it himself!", I'm sorry, I didn't know the apartments were ran by a bunch of sadists. These are only some of the things that are wrong with these apartments. Don't move here, it's not worth it. If anyone says it is, they are lying.

You have been warned! They showed me a pretty, clean, neat, fresh painted apartment. I accepted and paid all the necessary fees. What they tried to give me was a dirty, awful smelling apartment. I had to threaten them with an attorney to get ALL my starting fees back. be careful what you sign for and don't sign until you have seen the apartment.

I live here currently and am being charged for pet fees when I do not have pets in my home.. when I first signed my lease I had two pets, one ran away before I moved and the other had to have surgery and could not move with me at the time. I paid $40 in pet fees every month for 6 months with no pets in the dwelling. I was finally able to bring my fur baby home after surgery and she was with me for less than a month before passing away. I called the office on 8/27 to remove the pet fees for the month of September since I no longer had a pet at all.. After a lot of back and forth the office told me I would be responsible for another month of pet fees for September even though no pets in the home for the month, due to them “turning in the financials” on the 26th. They also tried to tell me via email that it states in my lease I must give a written 30 days to remove pets and when I called to ask what page it was on they state that it doesn’t actually state that. They are running bad business and ruining their reputation on a good tenant who is never late on rent, doesn’t cause trouble and does everything that is asked of them over a $40 pet fee.
Victoria has been so helpful with our whole move in process. She is so kind and very very polite! You do not see that anymore in these younger generations. I am looking forward to my stay here at Palo Duro Place!

I just signed another lease here. Very good place to live. It is always clean outside and the manager Tanya is very nice and takes good care of me and my family. I will not move until I can finally buy a house I recommend these apartments to everyone. My kids also like the school Tascosa High.

It was not so easy finding my boss and apt ASAP, but after calling everyone almost, no one seemed go have a 3bed. Finally called PD and fell inb love with Heather, she is so about the residents and their needs. She worked extra hard to get my boss and his kids in ASAP! She is Golden!
