OSP - A Great Place To Re-Live Renewing my lease at OSP was a no-brainer because there are wonderful residents of all ages and a dynamite staff willing to serve expediiciously and efficiently. Maryann made the process seamless and accommodating. It truly is a gift to live in the One Southdale Place community.

1 month resident- very, very impressed We’ve only lived at One Southdale Place for just over a month and we’ve been very impressed by every aspect of our new home. The staff is universally welcoming, friendly and very helpful for all our questions as new residents. Couldn’t have picked a better home!

Great response Very responsive as usual. However the recurring issues with clogging and stove light are irksome and need a permanent fix too. Thanks to staff for fixing things so quickly.

Declawing cats is a barbaric process. Requiring cats to be declawed to live here is unacceptable.

Heating bills in the 3 and 5 story buildings are astronomical. Mine for a two bedroom kept at 62 degrees was over $160/month in the winter. One neighbor in a studio had bills over $180, and others in two bedrooms were over $300. One neighbor, who was out of town in December, had her highest usage day when she was gone, despite thermostats set very low. It makes one wonder how individual units are metered. Incidentally, tenants have no access to their electric meters, so one cannot turn the circuit breakers off and determine that there is no current flowing. Occasionally wind was felt coming from the furnace closet, and the furnace sounded like a jet taking off. Floors in first floor units, over the heated garage, were ice-cold in the winter. Noise from other units was unbelievable, with every footstep heard from overhead. Low-flying planes sometimes shook the building, and stereos and TVs from neighboring units tended to be shared, willingly or not. Bedrooms are 10.5 feet wide, and are barely big enough for a full-size bed, even in the "luxury" units on the 10th floor of the tower. Incidentally, the tower is built with post-tensioned concrete, as compared to the other two buildings, which are stick built, so it is probably quieter, although I don't believe there are masonry walls between units there. The 24-hour concierge is an excellent idea, and the personnel at the front desk are fantastic. However, they are not empowered to do anything, such as about noisy parties in the community room, misbehavior in the courtyard, etc. Living here felt like living in an airport hotel at O'Hare.

The design is exactly how I would want my home! Every thing was thought out at this apartment complex.. the excessive storage, the sun facing pool deck, natural light filling every room and a staff that makes you feel at home. The location was what really sold it for us - Southdale Mall, grocery store, unlimited restaurants all in walking distance; and quick access to 494 and 62! We love our home here and would recommend anyone considering this apartment.
