Michigan City is a fairly small city overlooking Lake Michigan, positioned about fifty miles east of Chicago and forty miles west of South Bend. Historically one of Indiana’s most vibrant communities, Michigan City maintains a thriving local culture with museums, breweries, a casino, and numerous popular performance venues providing endless options for your downtime.
The waterfront location gives the city a beautiful scenic quality, and both the lake itself and the nearby Indiana Dunes are popular recreation venues for locals and visitors alike. The South Shore Line offers affordable rail service to both Chicago and South Bend, allowing you to travel to two of the Midwest’s most distinctive cities without having to drive.

Property Ratings at Normandy Village Apartments
Great place to live if you want sewage to seep from your ceiling, gunshots going off every week, and roach infestations. Terrible apartments with even worse managers.

Please reach out to our management team directly so we can address these serious concerns promptly. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we're committed to making necessary improvements.
Apartments are simple and small. I don’t live here anymore but I didn’t have any issues when I did. The only reason I moved was because of space. It isn’t large enough. Management and maintenance were great. Didn’t have loud neighbors. Grounds were kept really nice. Units are just small.

Hello! Thanks for taking the time to leave us this feedback. We're glad you enjoyed your experience and while we were sad to see you go, we hope you're doing great!
It's a nice and safe place to live. Their maintenance department is fantastic. The office personnel are friendly and helpful.

Thanks for the lovely review, Edward! It's so nice to hear how comfortable you feel at our community and what terrific interactions you've had with our team. Here's to many wonderful years at Normandy Village - please let us know if we can ever be of assistance!
For the money, there is not a lot here. I don't think sharing a pool with a few hundred people as a luxury. Apartments are old, need work. Smelled moldy.
Now given, this is one of the cheapest apartments in town, but you get what you pay for. The parking lot and roadways throughout the complex are filled with potholes, and the parking lot floods regularly during heavy rain. The walls are super thin, I have heard people having sex, fighting, watching TV, etc. The kitchens are extremely dated, and look like they have not been updated since the building was constructed. The windows are extremely drafty in the winter. And on top of that, the office and maintenance staff simply do not know what they are doing. Save yourself the time, money, and everything else and find a different apartment to live in. It is simply not worth it.
The place that I live in a wide range of community opportunity for all residents willing to participate. The living courters are properly maintained. It has a nice size pool on the grounds. But if you enjoy exercise before a swim I recommend International Friendship Gardens. Then a warm shower before heading to the pool area.
First apartment me and my ex girlfriend had. I am very pleased with the apartment and the placement of the apartment. Very pleased with the people arounded me.
