Located on the Pajarito Plateau, on the eastern edge of the Jemez Mountains, Los Alamos is a small mountain town with a rich history. Los Alamos offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities, with close proximity to a host of parks, trails, and sports complexes in addition to the vast Valles Caldera National Preserve. Los Alamos is also convenient to skiing and snowboarding adventures at Pajarito Mountain.

Situated in northern New Mexico, Los Alamos is about a 45-minute drive from Santa Fe. Los Alamos is within 45 miles of eight Indian Pueblos as well.
