Property Ratings at Metropolitan East Goshen
This complex is a fraud. They promise luxury but the floors have no sound proofing, the cabinets are falling apart, and the hallways stink constantly. Expect your keys to not work half of the time and the staff could care less. Tenants are leaving in droves this summer and those who moved in right before we moved out wish they had never signed their lease.
Kiss your security deposit goodbye because you wont get any of it back at all no matter what you do, unless you take them to court, which they know you wont because 90% of people probably don't have the time, money, or care to deal with the hearings and proceedings. When we moved in the place was dirtier than when we left yet we still were billed for 80% of our security deposit for routine cleaning and repairing what PA state law considers “normal wear and tear”. Don’t expect any major maintenance to be performed in a timely manner, it will certainly be a week or more before they enter your apartment without permission or notice. Oh and the gym and pool? They wont be open due to COVID, but of course you'll get no discount on your monthly rent due to their unfulfilled “amenities”. But not to worry, you aren't missing out on anything, they both suck, half the gym equipment doesn’t work and is always dirty. Oh and of course they’re rent prices were lowered by $200 per month for incoming residents due to COVID, the “manger special”, but your rent will stay the same and there’ll be no discounts. Don’t even get me started on the parking lot. Expect to walk a football field to get to your apartment, and even then you'll have dents in your car door from the person next to you trying to squeeze into their car because EVERY SINGLE SPACE is about as wide as the wheelbase of a mini cooper. I didn't mention yet that the air conditioner in our apartment barely worked. Our bedroom was like a sauna in the hot summer months. And hey, if you lost your job due to covid, don’t worry, there’ll be no rent forgiveness offered here. You’ll have to deal with added stress and scrutiny form the overbearing management office. This place is just too awful to describe in a written review.
Stay far away. Although the apartments are beautiful at first glance, the company is nothing but money hungry. If you expect respect from an apartment company, STAY AWAY. Lived here for 4 years and kept the apartment in tip top shape even winning an award for most beautiful apartment!! Then on move out, metropolitan tried to charge close to $1.5K! Our apartment was spotless. INSANE. DO NOT RENT HERE

Great place to live! In unit w/d, walk in closet, friendly neighbors. Property management are very helpful and accommodating. Nice pool and gym!
I would not recommend living here the people in the office aren’t very helpful they are very rude. There’s no parking, you have to walk all the way across the parking lot to get to your apartment. In the apartment next to mine you can hear their dogs all night long, you close the kitchen caninent the wrong way and they start barking like crazy. When I moved in I was told the walls and floors were basically sound proof because they are cement, but I can hear everyone upstairs go to the bathroom, take a shower or just walking around. And don’t even get me started on the residents everyone is so rude around here and stuck up. And I was told that German Shepard’s and big dog breeds weren’t allowed I was walking the other day and saw a pure German Shepard I was appalled. So if you’re looking for a place to stay I would not recommend this complex

My boyfriends brother and his girlfriend have lived in this complex since 2016. When we began looking to move we decided to check it out because they loved it so much, so we thought why not. We called and were able to get in the same day to look at available apartments and apply. The office staff was helpful with the paperwork process and about a month and a half later, we moved in. The unit we chose was completely redone (new paint, new carpet, etc.) which is awesome. The grounds are kept beautifully and they offer 2 bark parks (fenced in areas for dogs to run and play) a cute nature area, 2 gyms, and a pool for those hot summer days. Not to mention, FULL SIZE laundry and dryer in unit. Everyone is so nice, from the office staff to the residents, and the maintenance guys are friendly and helpful! The complex's location is super convenient as well. Close to gas stations/convenience stores, grocery stores, pizza shops. Highly recommend checking it out for those who are looking!
My husband and I have only been here for two months so far, but we have no complaints thus far. The gyms are very small, but it is still nice to have in the complex. Sierra was very accommodating and informative when we first looked at these apartments. When we first moved in, the light bulb in the bathroom went out and she had someone come over the next day to fix it. The price is reasonable and the apartments are clean. No complaints so far!
When I went apartment shopping I was really nervous about moving. I had so many questions and was not sure what exactly what I wanted. I went into the office and everyone was so friendly and answered all my questions and addressed my concerns. I have been living there for over a year now and I can not compliment them enough on how they treat their residents and how clean they keep the property. When I would walk into the office, I am always greeted warmly by the staff. If something needs to be fixed inside the apartment, they are there within a day or two if they are not able to get in the same day. I would recommend this apartment to anyone and everyone.
Just moved in a couple months ago to a newly renovated unit and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the help of the staff there. They are always willing to help with anything needed. The grounds are always kept clean and people are super friendly as well. Definitely a great spot to live :)
Staff always super helpful always keeps my pacakages safe. And environment is superbeautiful. 10 min from downtown west Chester and 15 from newtown square night life.

One of the most greedy apartment complexes I've ever lived at. Way too expensive for what they offer and at the end our lease they sent us to collections for $75. I would not recommend living here.
This place has hidden fees like its no tomorrow. They charge for every little thing. I didn't get my deposit back at all because they claimed they had to put in new carpets. Granted the carpet wasn't all that nice when I moved in, but I personally did not stain or ruin it (and I have pictures to prove it) so why does my $500 deposit go to your renovations? Management gave me attitude when I tried to fight it. Worst customer service, they're only nice to you if your a potential renter. On top of that buldings smell god awful, and definitely show its age. Talk about replacing carpet, there are blood stains on the gym's carpet...on top of that I needed something fixed every month, from no hot water, to no heat, to the sink leaking. It was never ending. Oh and the heating is baseboard electric which will run you a pretty penny in the winter. I am now living in a GORGEOUS apartment complex and pay $100 less than I did here...
Poor management! This place is overpriced and constructed very cheaply. Save your money and look else where

My girlfriend and I just moved into a fully renovated unit and we are really happy with our experience so far. Don't let the somewhat dated exterior fool you! Virtually everything in this unit is brand new, and the floor plan is very functional and maximizes useable living space. Love the full sized washer/dryer in unit, large walk in closet, and den area. What really sets this place apart is the awesome management and maintenance staff, who have really bent over backwards to make our move-in experience a positive one. Overall great bang for your buck - West Chester's hidden gem.

If you are looking for a comfortable living space, The Metropolitan could be for you. It is a small, tight knit community with comfortable apartments. Most are one bedroom with den, decent sized kitchen and closet space. Some great aspects are the fact that almost all apartments have their own FULL SIZED washer and drier, dish washer, patio (first floor) or balcony (second and third floors), quiet settings away from the highway, private parking (requiring parking permits), and private indoor entrances to each apartment. Apartments are small, at less than 700 square feet, but inner spaces are open and habitable. Pets (both cats AND dogs) are welcome for a small fee. Small work out room included in rent and free to use by all tenants. A pool is available for a small additional fee. Lastly, rent prices are reasonable for the area and apartment size.
