Their management team is what kills this complex. They are rude and almost never respond to emails or calls. There’s always trash thrown around in my building. Most of the parking is taken by non residents and when a resident hosts a party in clubhouse. I give two stars because of the events they host through a third party is the only bonus. Other than that you’re in for a long rollercoaster ride

You can be the best tenant, have great credit, pay your rent on time for years, mind your business, treat common areas with respect... and still come out losing. Matthews Square Apartments is trying to charge me to replace carpet and the a few pieces of vinyl floor because of normal wear for my stay of 2 years and 5 tenants. They call "damages" to get thousand of dollars out of me. A better tenant, you cannot find! As I am leaving, they are charging me $2,000 for "damages". I left the apartment SPOTLESS! SPICK AND SPAN! This is completely ridiculous and this is a horrible unfair business practice. Please save yourself the agony of moving in and moving out with a trail of DEBT! They will pin their losses on you. If they did me wrong, they will do it to you as well. Do not move here, read the other reviews and you will see why. I have called cooperate and they will NEVER call back and away divert from any responsibility. Some of the new management is as cold as ice and will only care about the bottom dollar.

The apartments are beautiful…if you can ever move in. Don’t bother calling no one will answer. Once you finally get everything done ( mine took three weeks of in person appointments).You can expect to go to the leasing office two or three more times after move in for mistakes made by the leasing office. I had the wrong mail key for a month and didn’t realize it until I told the office I wasn’t receiving my mail. The apartments and price are worth the hassle but the service from the front office is DREADFUL!

Echoing all of the other reviews, the property management is non responsive or will falsely promise to resolve issues. Currently the building 2 is infested with millipedes in every unit. The only thing luxurious about this place is the price tag. Additionally, there is a homeless camp in the wooded area our parking lot backs up to. The dog waste bins are rarely changed and because there are so few on the property they are regularly over flowing and the smell is rancid. There are massive ant hills all around the property that have remained on the property for over a year. The police are here every other weekend. They refuse to change air filters on a regular schedule and when they do change them, they provide thin 15 day air filters. The list goes on and on. Spare yourself the headache and live literally anywhere else.

So I will echo what the other reviews have detailed. The building material used is not of the best quality and it shows. We sprung for one of the townhomes in an attempt to avoid some of the noise issues but it didn't help. Furthermore the statement of a non-smoking property and quiet hours are strictly a suggestion and will not be enforced. A neighbor and ourselves have been lodging complaints and showing proof of continued smoking and noise well into the early morning for almost 6 months and the office has been unable to resolve the issue. Look elsewhere if you can.

I moved here a couple of weeks ago and I am already regretting it. I should had read the other reviews, because oh boy the noise problems are bad. My partner and I feel like we are living in an apartment with paper thin walls, floors and ceilings. We constantly hear neighbors slamming doors, toilet flushing and neighbors above walking that it feels like an army is marching above us making our lamps and walls shake, and when someone runs out in the hall the whole apartment shakes. It was so cheaply built but still we are charged with top rent price. Totally not worth it. My partner is very sensible to noises and because of all the noise traveling through the building she has developed sleep problems. She decided to sleep at her parents every other night for her mental health’s sake. She literally can't live here. So yeah, noise problem is bad.

Other reviewers are on point! The sound isolation/proofing in these apartments are the worst. I hear everything, and I mean EVERYTHING my neighbors do, specially the ones above me stomping and all times of the day making living in this apartment the most annoying experience. Email complaints and visits to the leasing office are ignored. But what can you do with such a poor-quality building? Although the leasing office is fully aware of “sound traveling through the building easily”, they forget to disclose that when giving tours or before you sign the lease. I wish someone had warned me about this before signed the lease, so I would have avoid getting such poor quality renting experience but still paying top luxury dollar for it.

Matthews Square Apartments markets itself as a luxury style apartment complex but that is only in the looks. Upon moving in I discovered the building is made with cardboard walls and ceilings and sound-proofing is non-existent. At every time of the day I hear my neighbors stomping as they walk, flushing toilets, slamming doors, playing music, laughing and talking aloud, doing laundry, vacuuming, and even you can hear when they express love to each other. This is the worst apartment I have ever lived. If you are thinking on moving to Matthews, stay away from Matthews Square Apartments unless you want to pay top rent price for the lowest quality apartments in town.
