New Baltimore is a tale of two cities: the historic charm of downtown and the modern, sleek subdivisions wrapped around lakes and golf courses on the far north side of the city. New Baltimore was first settled in 1796 by French fur trappers. Due to its location on Anchor Bay, the city became a transportation hub for boats carrying goods to other parts of the region. In the late 1800s, and as boating became less popular thanks to trains and, eventually, automobiles, the area transitioned from a shipping hub to a resort town for Detroit residents.
The lakefront is still a popular destination. Watch the sun set over Walter & Mary Burke Park, a great little park with a beach and swimming area, fishing docks, boat docks, playgrounds, bocce ball courts, and two picnic pavilions. Maynard "Red" Aurand Memorial Park features a sledding hill, a playground, ball fields, basketball courts, and a skate park.

I live here, don't bother
The 5 star is just for attention. Please read this. DO NOT LIVE HERE!!! Save yourself the hassle and just look elsewhere!!!! Other tenents are rude and will threaten you over any assumption, reporting them to management does nothing. Management does nothing period. They're lazy or just plain dont care. Repairs (even major ones) take weeks to get taken care of. Rent continues to increase with no renovation or repair to the units, and the parking lot stays flooded for weeks after rain. Please stay away.
