Maintenance team is unprofessional and very much understaffed.
The quality of the building is lacking, there is cigarette smoke coming from the vents, the pool was closed during the only hot days of the year(!!) and someone got shot outside the building.
Our experience from signing the lease, viewing the apartment and moving in was all really smooth. The communication with the leasing office staff was great. They were so helpful with everything. Additionally, our maintenance manager is really knowledgeable and receptive to helping make sure the move is smooth. Since moving in, we've been getting used to the new sounds and smells of the community. We've learned there must be a lot of great cooks on our floor! The amenities are amazing. I've truly enjoyed having the gym and fitness/yoga studio. Finally, being so close to BART really gives us access to the wider Bay Area which is a glorious thing to have. We are really looking forward to more positive experiences living at MacArthur Commons.
It’s an easy, relaxing, comfortable place to call home. The staff are excellent. Building maintenance is always up to date. Such a fun little community
I've lived here less than a year and waited over 4 months to get a parking space. When I had to park on the street my tires were slashed within the 1st month of me living here; little to no sympathy from the office staff. Last month my bike was stolen from the "secure" bike room and I was met with the same "there's nothing we can do" response. I'm literally from this neighborhood and every day I walk outside to drugs and poverty. The security staff doesn’t make me feel safe and yesterday I walked by a dead body. The ONLY reason why I live here is because of its location and convenience.
Management is incompetent. They do not even answer the phones and when they do 1) it is days later and 2) they always have an excuse to why they are unable to reach you in a timely manner. Management is reactive. All issues are only brought up to the resident's attention only after a complaint is brought up to them in person. For example, there was a time that the parking structure had trespassers (this happens often) and they did not notify the residents that cars were broken into. They had some of my property as my car was violated and then told me after visited and complained, not when my property was found by maintenance staff days earlier. They are never proactive or think about how to provide an excellent customer experience. They never take accountability or are solution-oriented. Management has a high turnover. I barely recognize people in the office because no one stays longer than a couple of months. Since no one stay longer than a couple of months, issues are not resolve and problems are not being fixed.

Clean and pleasant building. Near public transit. Feels safe. Plenty of security checkpoints that require special apartment key to go up higher in building which is appreciated. Awesome coffee machine in lobby :)

I was nervous moving to a new area that I am not familiar with, but the grounds are maintained really well. The building exteriors are clean and garbage free. The interiors are well maintained, clean, and the design creates a vibrant, welcoming space. Everyone has been very friendly and respectful of each other. The amenities are great. But my main concern/ priority was finding a secure and safe apartment complex. The secure buildings and night security guards were really the deciding factors for me.

Overall my experience has been pleasant as I am early in the process of my move but the leasing process was one to remember as my leasing agent provided useful information, helped addressed all my questions, and informed me of all promotions. Additionally, I enjoy the cleanliness of the apartments and modern décor with bright color schemes. I am excited to be a resident there as it provides me with the majority of my preferences ( space, amenities, commute, and community.)

Living at MacArthur Commons has been great thus far. Although they seem busy and can be hard to reach at times (understandable), the leasing/property staff is overall friendly and approachable. Jessica, Mary, and Alonso have especially been excellent during the move-in process and continue to serve as helpful resources when it comes to any questions or concerns. My favorite part about living here is the cleanliness of the property and the location walking distance to restaurants, bars, shops, and BART. I've only been here for a few weeks and have yet to experience the community amenities (due to COVID-19) but I was advised by staff on where they are on the property and how to reserve a spot via online resident portal to gain access. Overall my experience has been great and I'm happy to be here.

There's nothing spectacular about living here. Often times it feels like a college dorm but it will serve as interim housing. Don't expect too much.

I wouldn't trust the majority of the 5 star reviews on here as most of them were solicited by leasing agents who had to obtain a certain amount of 5 star reviews to get promoted. Definitely wouldn't recommend this place based purely off the fact that the leasing agents are extremely incompetent. When I moved in I was given an itemized list of all of my move in expenses. All of these expenses were paid, however, 6 months into my lease I received a notice stating that I still owed $500. I sat down with Harold, Jessica, and Amanda to try and get the situation resolved. We went over my ledger and none of them could actually show me where $500 dollars was missing. After showing them email proof of a concession that they probably missed, I thought the situation was resolved until I get my final bill upon move out and they decided to tack it on to that. What's worse is that I've received absolutely no response after trying to contact them to get the situation resolved. As for the actual apartments, they're nothing special. Cheap finishings and tacky color schemes that are made even worse if you take into account how much you're actually paying to live here. The only good thing about this place is that it's close to BART but honestly even that's not really worth it. I really regret the year that I spent here and would choose elsewhere if I had to do it over again. Don't be fooled by the cheesy smiles and fake laughs, it's all a cover for how poorly ran these apartments are. So if you want to deal with lazy leasing agents who can't keep the basics of their job straight, such as keeping up with your money, go somewhere else. Anywhere else is better than here.

Macarthur commen is a safe and to live
Great concessions, great deal, good follow up, prime location, everything is new, amazing up to date amenities
We have recently moved to the house is very peacefully and safe. We are happy with MacArthur commons.
The location right next to MacArthur BART and tech shuttles is a big reason I moved here. The 10 inch thick concrete walls keep the place nice and quiet even with the BART right next door. The management is friendly and responsive. Plus the place is dog friendly.
The apartment is beautiful, the staff is prompt, friendly, and helpful, and I couldn't have imagine how easy being this close to BART makes my life.
I've really appreciated getting to know the community managers and staff at MacArthur Commons. Move in day was so smooth and everyone was on hand to be of service if needed. I was greeted with a welcome pack and a run through of the available amenities and services. The team have been responsive to questions that have popped up. In-unit amenities and fibre-optic internet hook up are awesome as well as the proximity to BART and other local transport. The community managers have a lot of events planned and I'm looking forward to taking part and getting to know my neighbors more.
