Since the new manager came on board in the Spring, the property has become a much nicer place to live. It is well-maintained, and they try really hard to keep up with the normal wear and tear. The residents seem to have a problem with the front gates: they are broken fairly frequently by cars/trucks running through the gates before they are completely open. The nice-looking wood laminate floors are pretty, but without carpeting in the living/dining rooms, upstairs neighbors are sometimes pretty loud. It's a nice, small apartment community, and the location is terrific!

My three years living at Mt. Vernon Apartments has been exceptionally good. It is a very pleasant neighborhood feel environment in a fantastic location convenient to everything (shopping, entertainment, dining, MARTA, etc.), well landscaped and maintained and with pleasant & responsive management staff.

The Property is good but unfortunately my apartment roof has leakage and drain water is dropping in multiple places from top floor. this is happening from last 4 months and put a request for service almost 10 times during this 4 months of time. people are coming to look at it and trying to fix it but no luck yet. this is the most uncomfortable situation we are facing now.

It's a quiet clean property. The maintenance staff is the best.
Wonderful staff, both maintenance and management. You can think of redesigning the gate. Even though it will be expensive, but it will be cheaper in the long run. Wish you can stop people smoking in the corridors and balconies.
This property manager will say anything to get you to either move in or renew your lease. We just renewed and were told we would be getting a new water heater (ours is 22 years old) as they were working on updating all of the units. After the lease was signed, we asked for a schedule for the replacement. We were then told we are not on the list for replacement. Our rent went up over 1,000.00 per year (double what neighbors did just a month earlier). MAA is just as bad, I have attempted to get a name of a person at corporate to contact with these concerns. They had a secretary in the Atlanta office return my calls, and have never had the courtesy of a return phone call from Memphis. My final comment about the manager is how do you tell if she is lying, just watch her lips move

This is one of the worst apartments I have ever lived in my life. The water pressure in my building will drop to completely being unusable, especially in the shower. If you are in the shower and have shampooed your hair, you will have to stand in the shower 15 minutes to wash it off. Then the next 10 minutes to wash off your soap. I had the problem with this for more than 8 months, and it never got fixed at all despite complaining multiple times. I had couple of friends looking for apartments and I advised them against renting any MAA property. The worst part is the staff comes for an inspection, and they start teaching me how the water pressure was at the right level, and that I was being unreasonable, when I clearly told them it works sometimes. If you ever rent here and are lucky things will work, if something serious breaks it will never get fixed. Read on this forum about so many A\C problems and what not, that never got fixed at all.
My apartment was so dirty when I moved in. Walls weren't painted, tubs were filthy, bugs everywhere. I begged to be released from my lease and I am still fighting to get my money back.
