The bus also takes residents to the area MARC train stop that connects Baltimore to Washington, D.C. Lochearn borders Gwynn Oak Park, one of Maryland’s largest public parks. This free community park features plenty of green space and rolling hills, as well as athletic fields for public use. Jog along one of the many running trails in the park, or stroll along the creek banks while taking in some of the best of Maryland’s natural landscape scenes. This park draws children of all ages with its multiple playgrounds, and always welcomes leashed pets. In addition to providing a scenic spot for relaxation and hiking, this park is home to several charity events, 5K runs and local school fundraisers. Off Liberty Road lies a membership-only family park for Lochearn residents. Here, members can enjoy basketball and volleyball courts, picnic tables, pavilions and the community pool. This park also hosts a toddler-friendly playground. Memberships cover access on a yearly basis, and dogs are not allowed inside the park.
