The suburban neighborhood of Ivywild
lies directly south of Colorado Springs
and east of Almagre Mountain in the Rockies. The area offers a good mix of rental accommodations including studios and apartment complexes. Residents enjoy easy access to the city's amenities via Highway 87 and to the Action Plaza shopping complex in neighboring Stratton Meadows,
where stores include the Home Depot and Sears.
Closer to home, locals relive their childhood by hanging out in the former elementary school and calling in to the Principal's Office for a beer and braised beef taco. Repurposed as a community center hosting live bands in the gym, Ivywild School houses
a brewery, a bakery, and charcuterie. A few minutes away, the Little Nepal Indian restaurant serves up a spicy chicken masala and garlic naan while Panino’s makes sumptuous pizzas.
For more energetic activities, hikers and bikers can follow trails of varying difficulties up into the magnificent Rockies, including the two-mile Mount Cutler trail along Cheyenne Canyon and the eight-mile Columbine Trail that leads to the pretty Helen Hunt Falls.
